7 of those years he spent taking a fourth division Swedish team to the top flight and the Europa League. Can't compare his career to Poch or Wenger's teams

You're right - Without hindsight - Sterling, Fofana, Cucurella and Koulibaly were good pickups. But board was pushing for Ronaldo and Kounde - spending energy on those deals instead of sorting out other issues. About the 4-3-3 - It sounds incredulous but also don't see why Athletic would be reporting if they hadn't heard about this. Sounds like a very strange detail to be making up

Tuchel wanted Matthijs de Ligt, Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong and Presnel Kimpembe. He did not want Kounde and Ronaldo which were broadly the right decisions for me. The club also reportedly drew up plans for a 4-4-3 formation - some amateur stuff happening if true. All the club briefings on the sacking point to a broken relationship and I have no qualms with the decision. But to say Todd and co. are doing a good job after this transfer window is a big leap for me. I feel they have the enthusiasm and the best interests at heart but I am not convinced they are going to run this club efficiently yet. They have to be held accountable for this summer as much as Tuchel

Next weekend is the funeral. Fail to plan, plan to fail by the Premier League. Everyone else is going ahead. This empty weekend was so avoidable

Though it helps Potter that the only game this month will be Salzburg at home in the CL

Cricket is going ahead

She is just someone who was very effective in holding onto her personal wealth and the royalty became part of a wider celebrity culture in her reign. The office of the monarch also oversaw the oppression of many countries. I don't know why anything needs to be stopped for them.

Going by that Athletic article - Tuchel was making far more sense than the owners in terms of the transfers. The club has briefed all journalists and Tuchel's version of things is not out there as much. But it seems, Tuchel wanted Matthijs de Ligt, Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong and Presnel Kimpembe. He did not want Kounde and Ronaldo which were broadly the right decisions for me. The communication breakdown between owners and Tuchel is a serious issue and it seems to be over Tuchel not wanting to take up a lot of the recruitment responsibilities and instead focus on the coaching part. Here, Tuchel should have stepped up - He did not have the same energy in the summer to sync up with the new structure and instead talked about missing Petr Cech and how he's not liking recruitment I can understand the club's decision to sack Tuchel but Todd and co. are accountable from now on. They have to hold up to their ideals of long-term vision and planning at least with Potter.

Sky reporting Potter headed to London to meet Boehly later this afternoon
-
Potter the priority target
-
Why do you think so? First big job offer coming his way - I think he'll speak to the club.

Roger Schmidt from Benfica - Matt Law reported
-
From the Guardian article There were instances of the ownership attempting to foist players on him. Example was the case of Anthony Gordon who Tuchel did not want. Boehly’s data analysts had pushed for the Everton midfielder after being impressed by some of his performance metrics. Tuchel came to feel he had too many players to accommodate and not enough he could count on. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/sep/07/Chelsea-sack-thomas-tuchel-as-manager-after-defeat-at-zagreb-champions-league

We must thank Tuchel for overruling Ronaldo and Kounde

Matt Law, Ben Jacobs all reporting the club's version so far. Wonder what Tuchel's version of the story is. Whether he did not want more authority/responsibility and just wanted to coach. Seems like player power - of some average players who haven't played well for months- has also played a part.

- Initially Boehly-Eghbali wanted to back Tuchel. But over the summer, communication dried up, doubts over whether Tuchel can be long-term had appeared - Tuchel admitted he did not enjoy recruitment role. Boehly-Eghbali did the heavy lifting in the summer - Tuchel's preferance to be left to work and solve problems on his own, along with his close circle of coaches, is not in line with the inclusive approach of Boehly and Eghbali. - Boehly’s interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo : The American reluctant to simply take “no” for an answer from Tuchel, who, according to sources, seemed exasperated at having to explain his reasons for not wanting the Portuguese. - Privately, Tuchel's attitude and demeanour raised serious doubts. This was his undoing more than results - Owners wanted a new culture around the club and decided Tuchel is not the man for it. They wanted coach to be more communicative, involved in club projects like hiring the new sporting director - They want a coach who they feel comfortable bouncing ideas off and peppering with questions, even some that may seem tiresome to those with more football experience.

Matt Law report - Sacking is not based purely on results or Chelsea’s poor start to the season. - Sources say Tuchel lost the faith of players, who were surprised to be played out of position, left out - Anthony Barry is likely to take temporary charge - Apart from Potter, club looking at Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane and Benfica manager Roger Schmidt
