I can't say who is the greatest striker in our history, but the argument that Drogba isn't because he came here for money is stupid. He is payed for what he does and since he does it really well, he is payed well. He, as an African player who played in France just can't be a fan of an English club who wasn't really big back at the time which would make him sign for it. He has shown what kind of person he is here, with his love for the club and the fans and all the charity work he has done for his country. FFS he is even more popular there then their president...
He came here to score goals and win trophies. He has done all those 2 brilliantly.

People will hate and people will love, it pisses me of when you see 'fans' come and bash players, whever its Torres, Bosingwa, ive even read people wanted ashley cole out the door, one of the best players in the world in his position ? really, Torres is class, had a bad couple of seasons, but the main thing he still puts a shift in for the team, i could understand the shit he gets if he just stood aroundflicking his hair or something, why dont all the haters of the players in your club you are supposed to support open a negative place where you can all go and bitch ! love it the guy come to chelsea to win medals....... and take a wild stab in the dark as to what he done last season ???? LOL! Did I say anything wrong? I just listed FACTS not my opinion. Seems like everyone who doesn't have a decent response just falls back on the same old, oh you must love Torres.

If he scores the winner in the final and it finally delivers the big one we've all been waiting to win AND qualifies us for next year's competition then it will definately be £50m repaid, both emotionally and financially.
And I wouldn't bet against him doing it - something just tells me it's meant to be!

That goal was worth more than any monetary sum.
The release of emotion was fantastic - all the past semi-final heartache, the will for Fernando to succeed, the jubilation of reaching the final.
You can't put a sum of money on that.

IMO he is better with us than he was in a liverpool shirt, his all round game has improved 10 fold, cant ignore his goals ina red shirt but look at his all round game he has done more for the whole team than he ever did in a liverpool shirt, he dont sulk, spit his dummy out, he gets up dusts his self of and tracks back to the corner flag and busts a gut to get back up the other end, Torres all round game is much better in achelsea shirt than it ever was in a red shirt... And i think to be fair to the guy he showed today he is a team player and doesnt think of him self as torres fc, he had a cracking game today and should defo be rewarded with a start midweek and too right keep his confidence up he earned that today 110% start for me wednesday !

Last time I checked Torres outplayed Danny by a country mile in our last two games, and based on the fact of form and play that would merit Torres playing over him.

I have consistently supported ANY player who gives 100% . This does not mean I dont think they should not be replaced. BUT they should
not be abused as too often they are on here.

Most of our games Tomo? How many of those appearances are from the bench were Torres gets 10 or 15 minutes or less, in others he gets taken off when there are other players who are having a mare? I'm up with the very best on being critical of our players performances so have no reason to cut him some slack, however when are other CF's aren't scoring either & haven't for the best part of 2 seasons then you have to look deeper than just our out form 50m striker & there lies the problem as the media & fans are too quick to judge without looking at the bigger picture.
I will reiterate what I've said many times on here in that we should change the formation to an all out attacking one as most of the teams we play sit with 10 men behind the ball & hit us on the counter or a set piece, West Brom were the latest to achieve a result like this. We need to get rid of the DM role & 4 or 5 poxy defenders sat with him & play 3 centre backs with 2 wing backs flying up & down, 2 hard working midfielders in the middle & Mata infront of them orchastrating things & then 2 of our Strikers will get lots of service as we are committing more players in advanced positions. The way that Bilbao played last night is exactly how we should play against the sitting teams, my point is the likes Drogba & Torres would start to get more chances created for them instead of feeding of scraps game in game out.

True, like you say he gets plenty of support in the stands, its just reading it in hear and the media, pisses me of. Its going to be interesting to see if Drogba stays, because i think if he goes Torres will shine and (i really dont want him too) if Rafa will be our new manager come the summer i think we will see the old Torres, it was quite well known it was pretty much rafa why he went to liverpool.

I don't think it's the amount he cost, it's simply because we all know what he's capable of - he scored against us almost every time, and now struggles to score for us.
Just depressing.

What do you think it is then ?? when mata offered the pen to him tueday night you could see the fear in his eyes, all eyes would have been on him 12 yards out IF he had of missed the media would have hung him in the papers the next day, and the goal we are all waiting for would have probably took longer to come. i feel for the guy i really do, in the west brom game drogba had pretty much done nothing for an hour and started limping around yet stayed on, when Torres finally got on the pitch you could see the effort he put in for the team. My personal opionion is the price tag he came in at and the other players not liking it, the sunderland game when all the groans started, that was pure class and an inch lower torres would have scored, did you see lamps run over to torres and give him the credit he deserved for that assist ??? i think stick with him, drogbas not signed a new contract yet, i think Torres needs an arm round the shoulder and it seems drogba is on his way out now 'Torres your my main striker now go out and show us what you got' we all know what he can do...
