  1. Kante and Mendy trained today. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/05/26/next-stop--champions-league-final
  2. Am sure the irony of re-signing a striker that we sold at a young age will not be lost on Abraham. While Inter are trying to cut costs, am not sure how much they are willing to part ways with their biggest prized asset in Lukaku, unless he pushes to leave. Otherwise, not sure he would leave considering he's adored by the Inter fans and isn't battered by the Italian media compared to the English media in England. But with their other players...might be worth testing the water.
  3. So much for thinking Conte won't leave Inter, eh @OneMoSalah?
  4. This was 2 days ago and if I didn't recognize the players wrongly, both Mendy and Kante were out with the rest of the team...
  5. But those clubs that Conte walked into were also willing to spend, at least a little, and the board were willing to work him on transfers (okay, maybe not here). Unless Spurs sell Kane for 100m+, they won't have much money, if any, to spend at all. Is Conte then willing to go there if he can't spend much at all? He's already going to walk away from Inter because they have to cut costs. On top of that, is Conte willing to settle for only fighting for Top 4? He has looked only pumped up when a club are able to fight for the league title but not as much when they aren't.
  6. If Conte can't find a way to compromise, then good luck to him finding a club that will forever bend to his will and demands because he's never going to get the City job and no other club will just spend money willy nilly for the manager.
  7. It's not about having ambition or not. It's about making compromises, especially at times like this, and focus on what he's actually good at - coaching. Do you think someone like Sir Alex Ferguson got what he wanted every year at Man United? No but that didn't stop him from finding ways to work around tricky situations and be successful. Unless Conte is at Man City, no club is gonna just bow down to the manager and just spend like no one's business for the manager. It should also be noted that Inter have also bent a lot for Conte since he got there. Is it hard for him to just maybe compromise a little?
  8. Fixed. Judging by some of the results without Mount, one could also argue that we can perform well and win games without him. We have not reached the point (hopefully not ever) where we become useless without Mount on the pitch.
  9. Yes, every coach would want money to spend and keep their players but at the same time and the annoying thing with Conte is, he has shown that he is a good coach. He can coach and improve players when he puts his mind into it. We saw it at Juventus. We saw it here. We have seen it at Inter. Instead, the second he doesn't get what he fully wants, he'll start to throw tantrums etc. Regarding Lukaku, I'm not sure if Inter will just sell arguably their biggest asset this summer, financial trouble or not. There are already rumors they are looking to get rid of the likes of Young, Kolarov etc.
  10. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/05/25/azpilicueta-red-card-overturned Azpi's red card has been overturned. So, he'll not be banned for the first 3 games of next season.
  11. The hilarity of it aside, it also highlights the incompetence of Arteta, Edu and whoever else that makes the transfer decisions at Arsenal. They bought Luiz two seasons ago and he's already left the club without getting them anywhere while the same thing could potentially happen with Willian (assuming that Sky story is true but don't think it is). Both over 30 and were/are on huge wages too.
  12. For those suggesting Camavinga previously...
  13. Just making a general point and this isn't aimed at you but if you criticize Mount for anything on places like Twitter, a big bunch of mobsters will jump on you. lol
  14. Beyond the money, there's also the question how much involvement would Ronaldo want? If he wants to be a starter, then it's not going to happen. If he's okay with being a rotational option, then I'm not completely against the idea. Having said all that, would Ronaldo even fancy coming here? That might have to be the route we take for the short term until something better turns up, like next summer when Haaland's release clause activates.
  15. I don't think Tuchel trusts CHO to bring the right mentality in every game. It's 3 managers now that seem to have doubts over CHO.
  16. This season feels like a wasted season because of what Lampard did...
  17. As ludicrous as this may sound, getting Ronaldo would be even worse than getting Hazard back because (a) we would have to break the bank and the club's wage structure to pay his wages (he's earning a lot at Juventus - https://www.goal.com/en/news/ronaldos-31m-per-year-juventus-wages-still-three-times-more-than-/1pb5otbvkvd2u162op7t2bsug6) and (b) we would have to change our entire style of play and system just to fit him in. He's already 36 years old and he's not going to have legs to start pressing around, running around and basically defend.
  18. If we want to buy Sancho, we might want to do it quick because his price could well go up after the Euros...
  19. Oh, now you bring position into the equation? If you want to say Pulisic is playing out of position, then one can easily say it's the same with Werner considering he's not a natural #9 or suited to leading the line. And how exactly is Pulisic even playing out of position? He played so many games on the left and even if he prefers playing on the left, he's still not exactly alien to playing on the right either.
  20. Pini Zahavi? Cue the Coman to Chelsea rumors...
  21. Less productive player? If you look back at the last 10 games, Werner contributed 4 goals (2 goals and 2 assists) while Pulisic contributed 3 goals (1 goal and 2 assists). Of Werner's 4 goals, 3 of them include the winner against West Ham, the assist for Alonso's winning goal at City (both ensured we got into the Top 4) and the opening goal against Real Madrid at the Bridge. Of Pulisic's 3 goals, 1 was the away goal and another 1 was the assist for the killer against Real Madrid. Not going to sit here and brag about Werner being more productive considering the difference is only 1 but Werner also contributed key goals in our run-in, not only Pulisic like you've made it out to be. Heck even if we look back at the last 13 games, both Werner and Pulisic contributed the same amount of goals - Werner has 2 goals and 3 assists while Pulisic has 3 goals and 2 assists. And for the record, I don't think I've said Pulisic should be benched. As I said earlier, I just find your logic strange when they have both contributed basically the same amount of goals over the last 10-15 games from very similar amount of minutes played. The fact is our attackers are blowing hot and cold. Pulisic hasn't been anywhere near his best for ages now, just like how inconsistent Werner has been. The numbers won't be the one that will decide Tuchel's selection. It'll come down to devising a tactical plan and picking the players that can execute the plan effectively and based on the last two games against City, Werner seems like a shoo-in. Mount will be selected. Then it comes down to Pulisic, Ziyech or Havertz. Tuchel went with Mount-Werner-Ziyech in the cup semi-final and Ziyech-Werner-Pulisic at the Etihad (Mount was rested then). For all we know and for all this debate, Tuchel could easily go with a similar line-up to the latter of Pulisic-Werner-Mount. He could also go with Werner-Havertz-Mount, something he's yet to try/play against City.
  22. No, I just find your logic strange, like using stats only over the last 13 (why not 5, 10 or 15?), banging on about an assist in a defeat to justify a start etc.
