  1. Italian job done to perfection. Solid performance. Good win. 4th straight win. 4th straight clean sheet.

  4. Moyes' United have more points (17) than Mourinho's United (15) after 10 league games. And that after only buying Fellaini.
  5. Err, Southampton have the SECOND best defence (8 goals conceded). Spurs have the best defence (4 conceded).
  6. And that's why I alluded to it being a catch-22 situation. That being said, the only players we needed to know whether they are good were Aina and Chalobah. The rest - Terry, Oscar, Willian etc - was more of giving them game time to regain their match fitness.
  7. He also apologized for the 4-0 spanking, which is funny. Didn't do that when, say, we got hammered 3-0 at City last season (or those other embarrassing defeats!).
  8. That GREAT chance he squandered when clear in the penalty area was vintage Willian really. Just bloody awful.
  9. Sigh. Disappointing result. It was West Ham and wanted us to beat them and go all the way in the competition. Could and should have played the strongest team possible, especially when we aren't playing in Europe this season. On the other hand, can understand why Conte made so many changes and gave other players some game time - maybe he made one change too many! - but that led to a disjointed performance and arguably only Chalobah did well. Can't believe I'm saying this but there's a bit of gap in quality going from Alonso and Moses to Aina and Azpi as WBs. Threat almost non-existent in the wide areas. A back of 3 of Cahill-Terry-Luiz looks extremely shaky compared to Azpi-Luiz-Cahill. Hoping Conte sticks with the latter for the upcoming matches, given it's been working well for us before today. And I guess after scoring 9 goals in our last 3 games, our profligacy has returned. It was a disjointed performance but we certainly created enough chances to win the game. Just no cutting edge. Now the pressure is back on and we have to win at Southampton!

  12. We may have won the league in 2015, but on the bigger picture, can you really say all those aforementioned things are still working for him? He had major issues at Real, then with us and now seemingly with United.
  13. Not yet. But the whole situation is just so strange.
  14. It says a lot when their best attacking threat on the day was Antonio Valencia. We might have stopped them from creating any meaningful chances and perhaps we shouldn't be surprised but it's still rather shocking that they were so clueless in possession. All they did was (1) shoot from distance and (2) give Valencia the ball to put in the crosses - that's like us last season with Ivanovic, hoping that one of his hit-and-hope crosses will come off.
  15. Would have been glorious if he had ran to Mourinho and celebrate in front of him.
  16. Both have their strengths and weaknesses but given the other front 2 are Hazard and Costa, I do wonder if Pedro is more suited than Willian to play in the attacking 3. Hazard and Willian are a little bit similar whereas with Pedro, he'll always provide that off the ball threat - something that Costa and Hazard don't often do.
  17. C'mon now. Let's not make as if Willian is great on the counter. He has his own record of screwing up counter attacks with poor decision making, poor delivery etc.
  18. Doing that would be just taking the easy way out. All the problems he's had in the last few years, he brought them upon himself. It's so obvious that his aggressive and controversial style of management and not to mention, his uninspiring football, haven't been working for years but for some reason, he continues to persist with it. Either he's stubbornly trying to prove everyone wrong or he's seriously unable to change his ways. Only he can save his own legacy in football.
  19. It's still wrong. He's already won 4 league games with United and he won 4 last season. That's already 8 wins. His record in the last 40 PL games reads W18 D9 L13.
  20. His results haven't been that bad (yet?). He's already won 7 games with United and when you add his games with us from last season in, then he's definitely won more than 7. The correct numbers are - P40 W17 D8 L15 (excluding Community Shield and friendlies).
  21. Maybe from an offensive point of view. But from the defensive side of things, both midfielders still have to work to protect the defence - covering the space, putting pressure on the ball, make sure there's no space between the lines, getting back to cover if possession is lost etc.
  22. Yes, it could and should have been a red card but can we not make it as if Luiz is the only one who makes such poor tackle? Happens every week and they don't even get much attention. But when Luiz does it, it's all hell breaks loose.
  23. Given his tendency to play the victim in everything, he would suit Liverpool to the ground TBH.
  24. Vintage Mourinho. Since last season, he's always given the impression that his team play well after every defeat. Either he genuinely believes that and is deluded OR he thinks everyone is an idiot and can't see what's happening on the pitch.
