This really. Don't mind keeping Willian as a back-up player. Just need to get a world class starter.

I don't think finishing second in the group should be used as an indication for anything, especially when there's a 2-month gap between the group stage and knockout stage. It's always about qualifying for the last 16 when you're in the group. Juventus in 2014/15, for example, came second in their group behind Atletico Madrid and still managed to reach the final, beating Dortmund, Monaco and Real Madrid along the way. Juve also did something similar last season. So they do have a track record of turning it on in the knockout stage.

Okay...can we go through a week without mentioning Hazard leaving Chelsea (or something along those lines)? It seriously makes everything else depressing!

Not excusing the mistake for one second - by the way, where was the pressure on the ball?! - but that mistake could have happened any time and committed by most players. I'm sure Cahill have committed such mistakes before in the past. So using Cahill to bash Rudiger in this case is just silly.

Huddersfield were totally hopeless. Barely put any pressure and just stood off for pretty much the entire game. That said, it's a welcome win and decent performance to boot. Just a bloody shame we conceded right at the end!

How do you know Conte wanted Bonucci over Christensen? How do you know he didn't want Christensen to begin with? What if Rudiger was the second choice option after Bonucci?

Isn't this getting a little desperate? Okay, Morata fluffed his lines there but any player in that situation would have tried to go for himself there, especially when the backups were so far behind in play. If Morata had passed back to Hazard (or whoever that is), you would probably be sitting here and complaining about he ruined our attack by passing it backwards.

Can someone please tell me how are Juventus considered a good draw for Spurs? Have read some analysis across various sites and somehow, Juventus, who have won 6 straight Serie A titles and reached 2 Champions League finals in last 3 years, have been dismissed like they're Newcastle! One journalist even deemed them sitting 3rd in the table as unthinkable, despite being just 2 points off the top! Why are people even reading so much into Spurs' wins over Real and Dortmund, who have been nothing short of disaster this season? Also unsurprisingly, many seem to have written us off against Barcelona. They are, rightly, the favorites but if Conte is looking at how to get the players pumped up for the tie, he could do no worse than stick up the predictions from the journalists/pundits in the dressing room.

Save it, Tom. Can't help it when some are only hell-bent on pin-pointing the bad things and completely disregarding the good ones.
-
Quite scary how football fans these days like to pass judgment after only first few months at a new club.

Injured? Pretty he has some illness at the moment, unless Conte mentioned something else in today's presser.

Getting a tie against Barcelona is always tough regardless of the situation but there's no need to feel all doom and gloom here just because we lost to West Ham at the weekend. Yes, our squad has its flaws but when we're on it, we can do damage. In some ways, this tie is a free hit for us. Many are expecting Barcelona to go through and we tend to be at our best when we are the underdogs. And let's see what happens come February. Plenty can happen between now and then.

Don't think anyone is using it to hide anything. Merely gave some sort of perspective.

You are right and it needs improvement but it's not entirely a disaster, is it? Remember the goals he scored at Stoke? And heading is also important because it gives the team another option to deliver the service. If it's all just onto the feet, then it becomes predictable, no? Are we seriously gonna start nitpicking how he scores the goals? Goals are goals.

Klopp totally lost it after the derby.

Puts Morata's struggles into perspective, doesn't it? Main issues with Morata now is sorting out his feet when it comes to finishing and not falling over upon the slightest of contacts. Otherwise, he's been great and yet, people have made him like the second coming of Torres. His movement is good, he's intelligent, his link up play is solid - some of the combination plays we have seen this season have been smooth, clean and delightful, something we haven't always seen with the previous strikers - and more importantly, he has shown that he can score goals. He's scored 10 in his first 21 games in all competitions (9 in league) despite this being his first season in English football and to put that into some sort of perspective - Drogba got 9 goals (6 in league) in his first 21 games, Anelka 2 in 21 (1 in league) and Costa 12 in 21 (all 12 in league). His record isn't bad at all when you compare to some of our more prominent strikers of the past and at least, he's getting into goalscoring positions. Would be more concerned if he wasn't getting into them, like a certain a Spaniard we once had. As mentioned above, Morata has some flaws at the moment and fair enough if he gets criticized objectively but going OTT on him is just plain silly, like some have here and elsewhere. Those flaws can be ironed out over time and I would like to believe that will be the case because he has all the tools to be a top notch striker. He may not have been a permanent starter at Real Madrid and Juventus but there was a reason why he played for both clubs for a number of years and was trusted in some of the biggest games (e.g. Juventus' CL run to the final a few seasons ago), rather than just got tossed aside.

Not liking the fact that City are probably gonna break our league records (most wins, most points etc)!
-
I know Morata has missed some guilt edge chances and he's rightly criticized for that but let's not pretend as if Batshuayi and Costa did not miss them in the past.
