You're overthinking.

Only reason I can think of for Conte taking off Fabregas is he was already on a yellow card and he needed someone on a clean slate to help see out the game without risking getting a red card. Hazard's substitution is mystifying to say the least though. He intentionally rested him against Stoke at the weekend for this game but doesn't play him for the full 90 minutes and it's the FA Cup next!

Yes, it's a good thing that we are at least creating chances but at the end of the day, if we don't put chances away, we aren't going to win anything. It has already cost us wins against Liverpool, Arsenal and even Atletico. Only highlighted the big games in my that previous post and if we add the lesser games in, then the issue becomes even more concerning because we have tended to miss good chances like every single game. I don't expect each of them to be converted but at least 2-3. The fact that Alonso - a LWB - is our third highest goalscorer this season says a lot. We just don't have consistent goalscorers in this team. Pedro, Willian, Hazard, Fabregas all only score every now and then while Morata is increasingly becoming more hit-and-miss. If our main attacking players aren't scoring the goals consistently, then how are we supposed to win games, win trophies? Who do we expect to chip in the goals?

Feeling the same here but they do have a tough run coming up at the end of this month. United, Liverpool and Arsenal in consecutive games.
-
They are falling to the wrong players. I'd say at least 75% of our chances in those games have either fallen to Bakayoko or Morata. If those had been half chances, then you can give an excuse. But they had been clear chances, which, no matter who, should have been converted. It's not just Bakayoko or Morata. Even Hazard, Fabregas, Drinkwater have all been guilty of missing them!
-
Costa always went AWOL in the second half of the season with us but guess people have forgotten about that.
-
I really don't understand how he has missed those easy chances with his feet, especially after he scored two very good goals - his first and second - at Stoke earlier in the season.
-
It's that people have selective memory about Torres and Costa all of a sudden.
-
Putting tonight aside, most, if not all, of Morata's goals have been crucial in us getting wins. Doesn't just stat pad like some other strikers. It's just his poor finishing with his feet that's letting him down. Could so easily have scored 20 goals by now!
-
An over-the-hill Lampard who contributed 25 goals (17 goals, 8 assists) while Oscar contributed 24 goals (12 goals, 12 assists) in 2012/13 and that's in his first season.
-
Would argue that he was actually decent in his first season with us, before it all started going downhill...
-
Let's not pretend as if Torres didn't play with good players. He had Mata, Hazard, Lampard and even Oscar to supply him chances!
-
As much as Morata's finishing was beyond frustrating tonight - and he deserves to be criticized - the bigger concern here is our tendency to not take our chances - like clear chances - in the big games. Happened against United. Happened at Liverpool. And now Arsenal. Should have thrashed United but didn't. Should have beaten Liverpool but didn't. Should have thrashed Arsenal but didn't. All came down to poor finishing more than anything else.
-
Not defending Morata's performance tonight because he was rubbish. But the comparisons with Torres are just plain stupid!
-
The Torres comparison is even worse!
