  1. Mourinho taking the moral high ground against Conte here is just . He could have stopped previously when he said Conte misunderstood the 'clown' comments but he had to go talk about the match fixing. He knew what he was doing back then and he does not get to play the victim card after Conte responded the second time.
  2. But do we have the players to do that? Do you think the likes of Alonso, Moses, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Willian etc are capable of producing quality football? Never mind not giving what Conte wants, the board themselves aren't even boosting the quality of the squad. They are just happy to fill with duds and sell them later to gain profit. A manager can only do so much with what is a highly average squad. They are doomed to fail at the end of the day.
  3. Another week, another talk about Conte's future in the presser... Want Conte to stay but right now, am absolutely sick and tired to hear the media and/or him talk about his future every single week. What good does this uncertainty do for mood among the fans or the players? Would they even be motivated if they know the manager is not gonna be here next season? If Conte really wants to go, he should just announce it now. If the board don't want to back him and have no issues letting him go, they should also just announce. Letting this rumble does no one any favors whatsoever.
  4. The awkward moment when Barkley turns out to be another dud.
  5. On paper, he shouldn't. But I wouldn't put it past an idealist manager like Tuchel. City didn't exactly have great defenders when he came in but remember what Guardiola did with his side, defensively, last season? Remember the defensive mess under AVB? Unless we go back to our 2011, 2012 transfer approach, putting Tuchel with the current squad would be suicidal.
  6. "Tuchel is the obvious pick. Young, progressive manager who wants to play attacking football" but doesn't know how to organize a proper defence. Before anyone further bangs the drum about Tuchel, I'd suggest you go watch his Dortmund side defend. Error prone and there's stupid mistakes in every game.
  7. Decent shout there but Sarri would represent a huge gamble, given he's only come to the fore less than 3 years ago and still got a lot to prove at the highest level.
  8. Suspect Conte will go with 3-5-2 to guard against Leicester's counter attacks.
  9. Chelsea 0-0 Leicester PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2017/18 Premier League Match 23 13th January, Saturday, 2018 Stamford Bridge 15:00 Kick Off (UK time)
  10. That's the problem. It only counts after ET. Otherwise, we don't have to win in the 90 minutes. Get a score draw and we're through.
  11. Hasn't even played for us but Barkley's stock has risen 10x since joining, and will continue to rise with every dreadful attacking performance.
  12. If only his finishing is as good as his defending!
  13. Can we get Mourinho or Hiddink or Benitez or even Di Matteo for matches against Arsenal???
  14. If the League Cup away-goal rule works the same as the Champions League, would say this is a decent result. But since it's not, it's a shit one, on top of another very flat performance (to put it kindly). On a different note, was it just me or was the Bridge extremely quiet tonight? It's a cup semi-final against a big rival and you can hear a pin drop in the stadium!
  15. No, I get that. What I meant is the number of years. Forget the 'half year'. Usually in such cases, we go for 5-and-a-half-year contract, no? Barkley, for instance, got the 5-and-a-half-year contract when he joined. But only 4 for Christensen? Peculiar.
  16. Worth noting that his previous contract was until 2020. This one extends it till 2022. Also kinda strange to see it's only 4 (and a half) years as opposed to the normal 5.
