I know. It is a catch 22 situation, I guess. Said it some time back, I want Conte to stay because we have chopped and changed managers too often and it would be nice to have one build something for the future but he himself hasn't exactly helped matters, has he? After all the things he's said, moaned and done, yesterday's pathetic tactical approach and game manager felt like he was indirectly holding up a "PLEASE SACK ME!" banner. Given our current situation, can we really afford to allow this to continue? Can we really afford to slip into mediocrity and become another Arsenal or Liverpool years ago? It feels our hope of keeping our best players, attracting new ones, staying in touch with the other big sides lie on us at least making the Champions League next season. Otherwise, it's might be a long, long, long way back to the top.

Clearly Roman doesn't bother too much about the Champions League anymore. Conte would have been sacked by now if this was few years ago.

I get that Hazard is our best player but I'm not sure if there's anything more exasperating than people making the club as if it's 'Eden Hazard FC' rather than 'Chelsea FC'. Yeah, it's probably obvious that he'll leave some time soon but every time when we don't win, people can't wait to say "Hazard doesn't deserve this", "Hazard deserves better", "Hazard should go elsewhere where his quality will be better used" bla bla bla. EVERY. FUCKING. SINGLE. TIME.

Think Conte will stay on despite yesterday's debacle. There have been no reports about him getting the sack, unlike what we experienced with previous managers.

At this point, it's not even about handling a bad season anymore. It's about whether we should persist with a manager who clearly doesn't want to be here anymore. Me taking away credit? Lots of fans, me included, have already lost patience with him despite winning the title last season. Yesterday's coward approach was the final straw for many. Have no issues with him pointing out the issues with the team but he keeps moaning about them, downplaying the squad quality (it's not great but it's not bad either), making bad decision after bad decision, persisting with things that don't work etc. Can you really blame fans who have had enough of him?

I know we aren't in the greatest of form but yesterday felt like the biggest "PLEASE SACK ME" plea from Conte to the board. I mean, he talked about the difference in quality between us and City. He may have a point but has he forgotten Euro 2016? He managed the poorest Italy side in history, a side that's even worse than our team, and managed to beat Spain convincingly and took Germany all the way to penalties and you can't say those two don't have quality in their team. Furthermore, if yesterday was an evidence of the difference in quality, then how earth did we manage to lose to the likes of Burnley, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth, Watford etc? They are mid-table teams/relegation fodders and yet, were able to turn us over with ease. Quality is vital to winning games but so is the application.

He's literally begging to be sacked by taking the coward approach. Crystal Palace are near the bottom of the table and yet, they gave City a run for their money some weeks back and came away with a point. Could even have won the game! Liverpool pressed and harried City into mistakes and managed to beat them. Bristol City, who are in the Championship(!!!) and though they lost, took the game to City in the League cup and ended up only losing narrowly. There is a difference between taking a reactive and coward approach and pathetically, Conte chose to take the latter. Also, his stubbornness to stick with the back 5 every single fucking time, even when facing defeat, is maddening. Last season when things weren't going well in matches, he wasn't afraid to change formation. This season, he has passively just stuck with the same starting formation and hope something happen. Think we all have sympathized with Conte over the lack of support from the board but we've reached the point where it's foolish to even back him anymore, given he has made so many poor tactical, squad management decisions. Any credit he gained from winning the league last season is gone.

I'd refrain from Barkley in the boat as Bakayoko and Drinkwater because he's had his injuries issues and may still end becoming good for us. We haven't seen much of him yet. The same can't be said about the other two...

I swear you could pick any 11 from this forum and they would have put better effort than those lot today. Fucking farcical!
-
Think we can safely say he's no longer first choice...
-
Sums up the spineless performance today...
-
Confirmed his coward approach...
-
-
Christ! Are you seriously gonna be picky about that? So what if they aren't in the Premier League? They're still struggling near the bottom in the Championship!
-
-
Has outdone Mourinho with that spineless approach.
-
Have tried to back Conte as much as possible but think I'm now officially in the 'Conte OUT' camp.
-
You and your honeymoon again. Did you have a bad one?
-
Chill down Pizy. @Azpinator says we've been unlucky and we still can finish in the top 4!
-
Guess we can still win the title too!

How are we in it when we've won only FOUR matches in 2018 and all four were against relegation fodders? Take those out and the only game where we were on it was the Barcelona match. We just weren't good enough in the others but having sparks in matches is not good enough for a club aiming to compete at the highest level. The fact that most of us, if not all, were surprised by the manner of our performance against Barcelona weeks ago says a lot about our current predicament. Well, I'm only speaking from a fan perspective but then again, who knows. At the start of 2018, we looked dead certain to finish in the top 4 and potentially finish in 2nd spot. Fast forward to March and we're struggling down in 5th. For one reason or another, the players and even Conte have gone off the rails. It's as if they no longer have the motivation. The only thing that'll help us finish in the top 4 is Liverpool and Spurs going far in the Champions League while we get KOed by Barcelona. I know that sounds pessimistic but can't see us keeping up with them if we're having to compete on 3 fronts.

Last season? Think you meant the season before last. Yes, Man City did do that but they had an inconsistent United side battling them. This time, we're the inconsistent ones while Liverpool and Spurs are in form. TBH, unless we somehow win tomorrow, I'm already resigned to us missing out on the top 4. Will just enjoy the rest of the season and hopefully see some good moments or two.
