I don't think the criticism has gotta do with JT, especially once it became obvious he'll never get close to his level. A lot of the problem and criticism has gotta do with what you said in the first part there - he does a solid job for a patch before completely making a fool of himself with dumb errors. Plus, there's also the constant change in what we want from our CBs, in terms of buildup play, how we defend etc. In a system where we defend deep like we did under Mourinho and do under Conte, then Cahill is fine for it. But if we play higher up the pitch, focus on building from the back, then Cahill is not the person for it.

That's the point. We could have easily lost 3-1 in the dying seconds had he not been alert, as we were penned in for most of the game. Might have, might have not. Had Drogba not scored the equalizer, we wouldn't have been to gloat about being European champions.

It was because of where it was scored and the predicament we were in. Yes but that goal didn't change the result, did it? It merely confirmed our spot in the final.

I know Torres scoring that goal at the Camp Nou was a great moment but I find it ridiculous that the goal has been talked a lot more than Drogba's equalizer in the final or even the fact that Torres won the corner that led to the equalizer!
