Is Sarri genuinely deluded or is he trying to take us for a fool? Sure, players need time to adapt when they come to the Premier League but Suarez was 24 when he joined Liverpool while Higuain turns 32 later this year. Suarez was always gonna have plenty of room for improvement, plenty of time to adapt and grow at that age but Higuain? LMAO This isn't Serie A, where players into their late 30s can still score like 40 goals per season. This is the Premier League and in recent years, I can hardly remember a player well into their 30s do well and do well over the course of a season!

Both Morata and Higuain are hopeless but it's a case of choosing the best from the worst. We all thought Higuain would be an improvement on Morata but he has been an utter disaster. Scored only 4 league goals (against sides sitting in 15th, 19th and 20th) and has done nothing whatsoever that makes better than Morata. Should have stuck with Morata in January - at least he would have given us some mobility, pace and some presence with his height in the box.

If you're willing to sack Sarri 2-3 months into next season, then doesn't that already tell you're not confident in him succeeding? What would be the point of even persisting with him? Give him a full summer window? He pretty much had the whole of last summer and the January transfer window and has he really brought any players that improve us? The whole pre-season is just a convenient excuse really. What is he really gonna do in those 4-5 weeks when we will be travelling around the world anyway? It would be like us now, playing a game every 3-4 days. There's barely been any sign of improvement or progression that suggests things will only get better under him. We may be able to play out from the back better now but it feels like we've gotten worse in some of the things that we did well in the past, like defending properly for instance!
-
Said it before and I'll say it again, Morata is like 10x better than Higuain! We wasted our money on someone who is no improvement to the previous striker. In fact, he's far worse!
-
Here is another reason why we should really sack Sarri - his signings. I defended Jorginho earlier this season but really, Jorginho, Kovacic and Higuain have all been utterly hopeless!
-
Err, we do. Arsenal are only 2 points behind us and their GD is only 1 worse off...
-
A point isn't bad but FML, we didn't even try to win the game, did we? A hopeless match between two hopeless teams. Have to now beat Watford and Leicester to get that Top 4!

Enjoy the movie. It's way better than watching Chelsea! And oh, remember to clear your bladder.
-
Thanks to Arsenal's loss at Leicester, it means we'll still be in 4th even if we lose today, unless we lose by 4 goals or more!
-
Win today and we open a 4-point gap on fifth place with two games to go. But chances are, we will lose, as always.
-
Indeed. Frank de Boer won titles with Ajax but since then, he has failed at Crystal Palace, Inter Milan and now struggling with Atlanta United. Similar thing happened with Peter Bosz - didn't win any title with Ajax but took them to the Europa League final, got hired by Dortmund and then sacked by them just a few months into the job.
-
But on the flip, flip side, those appointments you mentioned were 10 years or more ago. Since then, it's been nothing but failures.
-
He does it well but Coutinho is basically a long range shooter merchant. That's all he is.
-
Might be a hypocrite here since I suggested Nuno but sure, let's hire the huge current flavor of the month in Ten Hag because that has always gone well for us, right? Hell, we hired our current manager because he was the flavor of the month last summer and look what has he done with us...
-
It's too simplistic to say the lack of patience is what will cause Sarri's (or other similar managers') downfall at the club. I believe we would be patient with him if we actually see some progression/improvement, if he hadn't been so stubborn and wedded in his own methods and decisions, if he hadn't been repeating the same bad decisions that we criticized Mourinho/Conte in the past for, if he hadn't made us so predictable to play against. Have we signs of improvement? Nope. Hardly much, apart from some fellas making a big deal of "oh look, he's making us play better out from the back". It's hard to see where we will go under Sarri, especially if that transfer ban sticks and he has to rely on young players and we all know he isn't exactly open to managing them or the best at doing so.
-
They are on a shocking run but so are we away from home. Only TWO league away wins in 2019 and both came against sides sitting 18th and 19th in the table.
-
Any particular manager in mind?
-
Sevilla would have been dangerous for us but had we played them instead of Slavia Prague, they would have gone into the first leg on the back of 9 defeats in 20 games. Inconsistent as us, if anything.
-
Surely that's not the home jersey? It looks more like a training attire or a shirt for normal wear than an actual playing kit.
-
Actually if we had beaten Burnley, we could afford a draw at United. Otherwise, a loss there plus an Arsenal win at Leicester would place them ahead of us on GD. But since that didn't happen, we gotta go to Old Trafford and get a win, somehow...
-
I'm not saying we will get the desired result at Old Trafford because like everyone else, I'm expecting us to lose away again. Have always felt that the Europa League is our best chance of qualifying for the Champions League and think I still feel that way, although I don't know what to expect anymore from this team. Playing badly and can't attack properly are already bad enough and now, we can't even defend properly from basic situations.
