  1. That he did but he also had a vision and plan to rebuild their squad. Got rid of certain big name players and got players that worked for him.
  2. Said it the other day, we've hired successful and/or experienced managers and gotten nowhere with them. Maybe hiring someone new, up-and-coming manager will do us good?
  3. Like you were gonna suddenly say "Lampard is ready for us" had Derby won. 🙄
  4. Think Jorginho is fine. Haven't seen it reported as anything serious.
  5. Erm, Frankfurt did qualify for the Europa League. 7th spot opened to that because the two cup finalists Bayern and Leipzig finished in the top 4.
  6. Guessing you're talking about Sane? Don't scare us, Mark!
  7. Said a few days ago that he will discuss his future with the club after the final. Would like to think that will be the case.
  8. In Cech's case, he's much less of a risk than Lampard but we're hardly the first in getting an ex-player to be the club's sporting director, technical director etc.
  9. Don't worry, lads. If things go wrong with Lampard, we'll just replace him with Terry.
  10. Doesn't change the fact that this is the first season Piatek and Jovic have scored regularly. Are they genuinely the real deal or just a one season wonder like Belotti? If they can keep it up next season and beyond, then fair enough. But if they don't...last thing we need is another striker that we need to get rid of (already have like 3 on the list!).
  11. True but the pressure of managing Juventus will be a lot different than managing Napoli. If Sarri were to continue his stubborn, inflexible ways and things go wrong on the field, the Juventus media and fans are unlikely to go easy on him. Plus, Juventus are desperate to win the Champions League. Is Sarri the right person to help them achieve it...?
  12. Hazard wants to go to Real Madrid but it seems like they don't value him as much as we do...
  13. We've gone down the route of hiring successful and/or experienced managers and gotten nowhere. Maybe it's worth the risk going the opposite direction by hiring a young and upcoming manager to start afresh and reboot ourselves.
  14. So you're basically suggesting Sarri or someone to be the sacrificial lamb and make the changes for Lampard in the future? Changes are definitely needed at this club. If we are going to go down the Lampard route, then why not bring him in now and let him restructure the team the way he wants to? Why persist with Sarri or go with someone else when their vision of the team, build of the team may be different to what Lampard might have in mind? You mentioned Solskjaer, even he is going to start making changes at United and while he may have been a manager longer than Lampard has, it's debatable whether he is actually better particularly when all he does is basically yapping about the Fergie days. Hardly a recipe for success.
  15. Piatek might not have stopped scoring and he did have a good season overall but his goal return certainly dropped after the early period at Milan. Scored 8 goals in his first 10 appearances for them but scored only 3 in subsequent/last 10 games. There is argument to be made on why we should have signed Piatek or should sign Jovic but on the other hand, there is also the opposite argument especially when you see what happened with Belotti etc.
  16. Gonna be funny when Cech saves two penalties and helps Arsenal win the Europa League...
  17. If true, then lol. Real Madrid getting scared off by 100 million demand again.
  18. If the news about Cech (and Makelele) is true, then it does look like we're trying to get some proper structure going at the club.
  19. Even if we do not have the transfer ban hanging over our heads, would still have expected the club to renew Caballero's contract anyway. Otherwise, would be a waste of time and money trying to hunt for a backup keeper. Caballero still decent enough to play that role.
