  1. Another injury. Great, just fucking great!
  2. In general yes but as I said, it's about recognizing the situation and making the right adjustments. Not saying we should just go defensive from the start, score a goal and then shut up shop. We didn't play well at all against Sheffield United. We went 2-0 up but profited from some horrible mistakes. We didn't create any clear cut chances or even put them under any sort of sustained pressure. But we were leading 2-1 with minutes to go and struggling to cope against them, especially our right side. Make pragmatic changes to make sure we see out the win. Being able to dig in and get wins when we don't play well is just as important to instilling a winning mentality as going for the jugular against the smaller teams.
  3. So, Marcin Bulka decided to leave us for PSG, only for them to go and sign Keylor Navas and Sergio Rico...
  4. Latest reports say Icardi is going to PSG!
  5. Feel like that is something the coaching staff should be preparing the team really. The Gilmour sub had no impact whatsoever.
  6. If you think I think he's good, then .
  7. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11799423/callum-hudson-odoi-hoping-for-chelsea-return-after-international-break CHO hopes to be back after the international break.
  8. Still brought on a defensive sub when he could have brought Batshuayi on and switched formation.
  9. Cut him some slack, man. He is up against a Top 4 side. I can't tell if that's sarcasm (or reference to someone here) or you're being serious.
  10. He brought Alonso on at Norwich to see out the game and we won. Did you say anything then? And this isn't or shouldn't be about the 'Mourinho spirit'. It's a matter of reading the game, recognizing the situation and making the right adjustments to get the wins. Even the best managers like Guardiola, Klopp have made pragmatic changes to see out wins. A tiny bit of pragmatism wouldn't hurt.
  11. Dropped another clanger for Arsenal...
  12. We had a week rest before Sheffield United and still ended up playing like a bunch of snails and clowns.
  13. Boly sent off for Wolves at Everton. So, won't play this game. And Wolves still with 0 win from 4 games this season. They're definitely getting their first here...
  14. Our second half problem is like a disease. Has happened far too often since last season.
  15. I don't think you can compare Pulisic and CHO because they are different kind of wingers. The former is the direct kind while the latter is the more tricky, skillful type. It's never bad to have options. I mentioned in here previously, Pulisic's start has been solid rather than anything spectacular. He's struggling to cope with the physicality and intensity of the league but with time, he should get used to it. Otherwise, I don't think you can fault him for his commitment or desire so far. He's clearly trying. Furthermore, he's come into a team who are undergoing a serious transition and trying to find their new selves. Would think that's a tad difficult for a 20-year-old coming into a whole different environment. Different if he had come into a fully established/settled side. We have seen glimpses of what he can do in the attacking third, particularly against Liverpool and Norwich. It would help him better if we can actually put sustained attacking pressure on the opposition. He would at least get to show his qualities a lot more. Right now, we are only putting pressure in parts, not for long periods, and have to worry more about defending than attacking.
  16. Watch him throw a tantrum...
  17. Sure, he deserves the opportunity given Azpi's form but the way people have been going on about it certainly suggests he'll solve our issues immediately.
  18. I still have my doubts whether Abraham is the right striker for us in the long run but that's another debate. He and Mount have done alright so far and just because they have done so, doesn't mean James will start off well etc. But TBH, I don't even know why you're getting all defensive here. Not even saying James is bad and will flop and I don't think there's anything wrong to say 'let's see how he fares before jumping to conclusions'. It's not wise or fair to expect a 19-year-old to come in and become our defensive savior.
  19. That's just bad game management then. Sheffield may not have bombarded us with shots but given we have been leaking stupid goals, he should have tried to be pragmatic in closing out the win. Did so at Norwich but not yesterday. It's even more baffling not to put more 'security' when Sheffield targeted our right side for the entire second half.
  20. Not everyone is gonna be like Willian...
  21. Look, I agree that Azpi isn't the future and I hope James will turn out to be the right one for us but we haven't even seen him play in anything about the Championship and people are already proclaiming him to be our savior in defence. How about we see how he does first before we start expecting to do everything that Azpi can't right, aye? On top of that, our defensive problems isn't down to just individuals but also as a team. We have no solid, compact defensive organization as a unit. We don't press well, we don't cover space, we don't track runners. We're defending as individuals rather than as one. Having better players isn't going to solve the problems. Norwich and Sheffield United had a combined total of 7 shots on target against us and we conceded 4 goals from those.
