He tends to fade away, so leaving him as a late introduction made sense. Not bringing him on at all was baffling. Maybe but you might as well bring him on to let him get used to the pace and all. Pedro did F all all game!

All that work of dribbling past players, getting the ball up the field wasted by horrendous passes in the final third for 3589357389573589739379568945645th time!

I really don't get why Pulisic wasn't brought on for Mount. Was sent home early by the US team and got 0 minutes in two games after the international break. Yeah, he hasn't been great but European games arguably suit him better for now and at least it would have given him a chance of settling into the team and making an impact. In the end, we saw a combination of Conteball and Sarriball borefest.

Waiting till he has to be reactive. Dealt with the same shit all of last season Lampard has been so bad in making changes when we have to chase a result.

What is a clean sheet? What is a home win?
-
Useless in defensive situations. The back 3/5 is being played to protect them.

I really don't know what's Lampard waiting for here. We've been watching the same play with no end product, no pressure for 70 minutes...
-
Valencia are there for the taking and we have just wasted a half without doing anything meaningful.

The lack of rotation is surprising. Hope no repeat of the Leicester game...

Just the one change from Saturday's XI - Zouma in for Rudiger.

Two former Arsenal players in their lineup...

If we hadn't gotten the transfer ban, we might not have hired Lampard and gone down this youth route. But given how things have panned out and will likely pan out based on them, it might actually be a blessing in disguise. Regardless of whether Abraham can sustain this form (he's bound to go through some dip in form/inconsistent period given his age), we definitely need to sign a striker next summer. Giroud will likely leave and Batshuayi just isn't up to it. Whether getting a new striker will make Abraham second choice or not remains to be seen but we definitely need a new striker. We need options and players who can provide competition to one another to get better.

Lampard also confirmed Emerson isn't fit for Valencia.

Yes, Willian is good at dribbling with the ball, bringing it forward etc and you can say he's a right midfielder all you want but at the end of the day, he's been played as a winger ever since he got here. His numbers have been average at best and his inconsistent performances have been frustrating. As I mentioned previously, if people are gonna come here and tell everyone else about how great Willian is after 1 good performance every 10 games, then god help us all. Heck if this keeps up, we might actually enter the Torres territory of praising the player because he does ONE thing good and the bad things he does are ignored.

In other words, teams with a 100% record still.

It's a problem to expect a winger to contribute goals/assists and more importantly, perform consistently?

If Abraham keeps up this form, I will be convinced of him indefinitely. And one thing that I don't think has been said or said enough is the variation of his goals. They haven't been just tap-ins or goals of just one kind. Norwich - Got away from his marker and scored a neat volley. Then scored a lovely strike from outside the box. Sheffield - Kept his composure and stayed alert to score from two defensive errors. Wolves - Nice turn and volley inside the 6-yard box, kept his cool too. Lost his marker to score the header. Kept his composure to control the ball, held off a challenge, then left the defender for dead with his pace and skill and scored to the far corner.

Scored a beauty on Saturday and while I wouldn't recommend someone to shoot from the position that he was in, it's nice for a change to see a player take a shot from distance and score after watching the incessant amount of passing and trying to walk the ball into the net last season.
