L’Équipe report that Premier League side Chelsea are looking into the feasibility of engineering a swap arrangement with Bayern Munich that would see Kingsley Coman and Callum Hudson Odoi switch clubs. Coman, who is under contract with the Bavarians until 2023, recently hired Pini Zahavi as his agent. Talks over an extension have been dead for 2 months, after Bayern offered the player €13m a year gross. He is currently on €9m a year gross, but wants to match Leroy Sané’s €18m a year gross. Talks are therefore at a standstill. Especially as the German outfit are understood to have made €150m in losses over the course of the 2020/21 campaign. As a result, Bayern have opened the door to the sale of Coman in the coming weeks – however, their initial stance is making a deal totally impossible for the rest of Europe’s elite – asking for €90m. Manchester United had looked at the player before concluding a deal for Jadon Sancho, Manchester City, Liverpool but above all Chelsea are also monitoring the situation. Thomas Tuchel has never hidden how much he leaves Coman as a player – Chelsea’s board would like to include Callum Hudson-Odoi in a deal, as the English winger is not in Tuchel’s plans for the coming season and Bayern have shown historic interest in him. New boss Julian Nagelsmann would like to keep Coman, feeling that the French international’s ability to break lines will be key in his early reign as Bayern boss. The situation will continue to evolve in the coming weeks.

He could so easily have been playing in the PL were it not for some volcanos!

No offence to Giroud but calling Lewandowski an impact sub like the former might be an insult to the latter. And seems like you're referring to the latest story that came from The Sun? They say we're gonna bid £50 million (50 MILLION!?) for him. Don't know whether to laugh or cry at the stupidity of the BS rumor.

The players will get tomorrow off and return on Monday for COVID testing as well as training. They will then fly out to Ireland on Tuesday for a week-long training camp in Dublin before returning to England to face Bournemouth on July 27.

It's always "interesting" to see how people react to pre-season outcomes.

Am shocked you've come asking me this till the point I don't know whether it's a joke or not. 🤣 The thing is, I can't see us buying anyone else if we buy Haaland or vice versa because of the money involved. So, I don't know if the club are still trying to bide (or waste?) their time with Haaland OR they're working on other transfers already and we just don't know it yet. Also, the club may also be waiting a bit to see what Tuchel makes of some of the returning loanees, to see if they will be of any use to the first team. If they are, then maybe we don't need to go buy a defender, for example. But rumors are persisting that we are still looking for a defender - e.g. Sule - and midfielder - e.g. Rice - on top of a striker. At the same time, the club are also in a somewhat tricky spot because they still have some contract renewals to sort out and sell some players first before potentially buying, like for example the ST position. I don't think we'll buy 2 strikers, it'll be just 1 at most. Tuchel had/used 4 last season - Werner, Havertz, Giroud, Abraham - and he ended only favoring only 2 of the 4. Broja could well take up the spot that Giroud left and I won't be surprised if we ended up keeping Abraham if we can't buy any ST and also because there's no buyer for him. If you are suggesting that clubs would pay 500-600k wages (something that is possible) to Haaland next year, then what's stopping his camp from demanding the same from us this year? The fact that neither he nor Raiola is seemingly pushing for the move to us suggests they well know that they will get more money next year. I don't know why people are making this seem like one way traffic and assuming Dortmund will just accept a big offer immediately. If they are gonna say no until August 31, then we can't do anything. The situation with Havertz was also somewhat different. The cost to sign him (transfer fee + agent fees + wages) was way lower than trying to sign Haaland now and we didn't need to deliberate too much over it. On top of that, he also wanted to leave Leverkusen, which helped our cause even further but that doesn't seem to be case with Haaland at Dortmund.

I didn't. I was just typing in capital letters. 😜
-
If Dortmund are really gonna say no till the bitter end, then what the club do really?
-
He won't say no to us next year after we win the Premier League and Champions League!

I stand corrected. The final score was 6-1. lol https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/07/17/Chelsea-hit-six-in-opening-pre-season-friendly Abraham, Pulisic, Ziyech (x3), Broja all scored.

WHERE IS THE LINK, FB? WHERE IS THE LINK!?
-
Ziyech also scored. Think the FT score is 2-0. The players now get a day off tomorrow apparently.
-
Abraham scored in the first half.

Move to Milan officially confirmed...
-
According to that: - The club are interested in signing Kane and have sought to establish his intentions. It's believed that us moving for Kane would be more appealing to Levy because a cash-plus-player involving players such as Abraham, for example, may be more realistic in terms of affordability and positional requirements than what City could offer. No suggestion of a concrete approach as yet though. - Nothing new from what we already know about Haaland. Dortmund don't want to sell; it'll take a huge offer to persuade them to change their plans. No indication that Haaland will force a move either and The Athletic also mentioned about the financial benefits the player's camp will get if they move next year instead. - If/When the club concede defeat on Haaland, making one more attempt to re-sign Lukaku will be on the agenda. Lukaku is valued at over £100 million by Inter, whose financial troubles have been eased after selling Hakimi but they could sell another big name if the offer is too good to refuse. - The club had asked to be kept abreast of the Ben White situation (but doesn't seem like anything will happen). - No mention of interest for Griezmann, Camavinga.

Be patient...

But we played Reading and QPR behind closed doors last summer before the 19/20 season restarted in June and don't think there were updates on the Twitter account?
-
Since it's behind closed doors, I doubt they will let journalists in. Will likely to have just wait for the club publish the match report on it.
-
I don't remember. I can't remember if they publicly stated the price but Dortmund wanted a minimum amount for Sancho last year and they even set a deadline for a bid to be put in (but of course, we know that United didn't give what they wanted and ended up not signing him). They had a gentlemen agreement with Sancho then but it's not the case with Haaland in this case. With him, you have some journalists saying £150m and some others just say a "big bid" (which can be any big figure). So, go figure. I agree with the sentiment and while anything can still happen, I suspect we might not sign any striker in the end, especially if there's no indication of any progression with this Haaland interest in the next 2 weeks or so.
