  1. But this is Dortmund, who have a history of selling players for lesser money by holding onto them for another year and yes, I'm aware the difference in money is larger in this case but still. I just want to see the outrage and chaos!
  2. But what if they really stick with their stance but try to see how far we're willing to go with the offer? Also while Haaland doesn't seem opposed to the idea of joining us, from his camp and Raiola's perspective, them leaving next year would be better from a financial POV. That 100 million or whatever the difference is in the transfer fee, they can get clubs to use that and pay them more in wages, agent fees etc. It's somewhat telling that they don't seem to be pushing for a move or making any sort of noise. Hope we get him now!
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jul/15/crystal-palace-agree-fee-defender-marc-guehi-with-Chelsea Seems like the club's initial plan was to loan Guehi out again but he wants to play week in week out and hence, the move to Palace.
  4. What's the difference between that and Dortmund's stance on Haaland? lol
  5. If we are really desperate to sign Haaland, what's stopping Dortmund - regardless if they budge or not - from really milking that desperation to get more money out of us like say 200 million instead of 150 million? Also, if we really need to raise cash by selling players to buy Haaland or whoever, what's stopping potential buyers of those players from just backing out, not paying what the club want until they lower the price etc?
  6. It'll be interesting to see what Tuchel does with Abraham in the pre-season games.
  7. Wouldn't rule out Abraham staying due to the circumstances.
  8. Giroud already in Milan... Milan are gonna have two strikers with the combined age of 73...
  9. As @Tomo said before, it's almost comical that people are rather closed minded when it comes to expecting/seeing our players improving. This is a young team with room for improvement, not an ageing team. Why do people always seem more positive when it comes to other teams rather than ours? And it's always Arsenal with you, isn't it? 🙄
  10. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/57853877 According to BBC, Guardiola has been monitoring the Haaland situation and Dortmund are gonna dig their heels in by rejecting any offers for Haaland, especially after already losing Sancho this summer.
  11. He's an Arsenal fan. No, nothing specific to Haaland. Matt Law just said we have explored whether Dortmund are interested in Abraham (seems like they aren't) and we are also interested in Lukaku and Kane.
  12. - Club would preferably like to find a buyer for Abraham, who they value at £40million, before committing to a big-money bid for one of their main striker targets. - Arsenal likely to need to sell players to get near Chelsea's asking price.
  13. Scenes if we raise the money to go buy Rice instead...
  14. Amazon should do an All-or-Nothing documentary on Real Madrid or Perez...
  15. @King Kante since you name checked Newcastle as a possible buyer for Abraham previously...
  16. Why do people seemingly assume that just because we won the Champions League and we finished in the Top 4, we have all that money to spend on transfers? I mean, it's not news that the club still have other costs to bear and just like any other club, we are also impacted financially due to the pandemic. On top of that, think the club also want to strengthen other areas and hence come the conundrum - do we bomb what essentially would be our entire transfer budget on one player (transfer fee + agent fees + wages etc) or do we spend that money on a few players instead in those other areas etc? The club's interest on Haaland is not a secret at this point but think it has also been partly overplayed, overdramatized (whatever the right word is) by the media. The media, the journalists seem to think Roman has a bottomless pit of money going by some of the reports.
  17. Bate and Livramento have been made to train with the youth team apparently. I can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
  18. Well, here's your Romano update aka non-update...
