  1. Sarri or Jorginho? Torino just appointed a new manager while Fiorentina appointed theirs back in December. Also need to remember that a lot these Italian clubs aren't rich at all and they probably have even bigger financial problem in this pandemic situation.
  2. Think Sarri is just not capable of being flexible. Robert Green mentioned how he is super rigid because of his previous career as a banker.
  3. But which club can afford him? Which club would want him? Doubt any club outside the Top 5-6 can afford him. Don't think there's any other job in Serie A available right now and Sarri might even want to take a break.
  4. If we can find a buyer for Jorginho, then sure by all means, sell him. But with Sarri sacked, who is gonna buy him? Will the club want to take a huge loss to tempt another club? Bate may be ready for minutes but it's not like he's gonna play consistently at this point of time. Kante is injured more often than not these days. Gilmour will be out till September and he's not gonna be able to produce consistently.
  5. It's not like we have much choice at the moment. If we are to generate money, it'll likely have to be done through other players.
  6. TBH, wouldn't be against keeping Jorginho around as a squad player...
  7. Wouldn't vote them as Manager of the Season but Ralph Hasenhuttl and maybe Sean Dyche deserve to be nominated. Hasenhuttl could have easily been sacked after that 9-0 loss and for their poor form before that but he managed to stabilize Southampton and got them to pick up more points than Leicester since that result (44 points to Leicester's 42). As for Dyche, he again managed to lead Burnley to a comfortable mid-table finish, far away from relegation troubles, despite having way less money to spend than some of the clubs (e.g. Newcastle, Everton, West Ham).
  8. On hindsight, am glad that we sold Hazard last summer and got the money that we did because let's face it, he probably only has 2-3 years left at the top level and especially when you consider he doesn't seem to take good care of his physical condition. Plus had Hazard stayed, we probably wouldn't have seen the emergence of Pulisic. If he can stay fit or stay fit more often than not, then we would almost have a like-for-like replacement and someone a lot younger too.
  9. Obviously Lampard will have to get results and will not get a free pass, especially after spending a lot this summer. He knows it and has said it as much. Those things you mentioned, however, were a long time ago though. Ancelotti arguably didn't deserve to be sacked and there have been stories that Roman regretted that decision. Roman never wanted RDM to begin with and he only made him permanent manager because of pressure from the fans. Since then, I think Roman has come to realize that he can't keep sacking manager like every 1-2 seasons because we would run out of good managers to hire and nobody would want to join us. We gave him time to turn things around but Mourinho simply had to be sacked in 2015 because of all the BS he was doing/saying and he had us near the relegation zone! Conte pretty much sacked himself really in the second season. As for Sarri, think the club would have been happy to stick with him but he wanted to go.
  10. Yeah, judging by the reaction when he went off, thought it was quite serious. Luckily it wasn't and especially at the moment, we have no backup for James if Azpi's out for a long time.
  11. Out for 6 weeks with the hamstring problem.
  12. Out for 3 weeks with the hamstring injury.
  13. Kante and Loftus-Cheek fit to start the game.
  14. The 23-man squad in Munich. No Willian. 12 players allowed on the bench. So, everyone will be in the matchdays quad. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/08/07/blues-land-in-munich Kepa Arrizabalaga Antonio Rudiger Andreas Christensen N'Golo Kante Ross Barkley Tammy Abraham Willy Caballero Ruben Loftus-Cheek Kurt Zouma Mateo Kovacic Olivier Giroud Mason Mount Callum Hudson-Odoi Michy Batshuayi Reece James Fikayo Tomori Jamie Cumming Emerson Palmieri Lewis Bate Dynel Simeu Henry Lawrence Ian Maatsen Armando Broja
  15. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Villa_F.C.#Management_hierarchy Villa have 2 assistant head coaches, including Terry. So either Shakespeare is added to the 2 or he replaces 1 of them...
