  1. For Werner's sake, one would hope not. From a German and non-Bayern fan perspective, would Germans prefer Leipzig or Bayern to win the CL?
  2. That U23/U24 rule for a "Young" Player of the Year award is BS, TBH. It should be U21 at most. Placing restriction on appearances and/or minutes makes no sense because what if that player plays beyond those numbers set? Then what? Asking them to then compete with the more established players for the Player of the Year award is unfair either. In TAA's case, it just so happens that he was promoted at a very young age and has more experience at the senior level than most. Those players you mentioned above - Greenwood, Saka, Mount etc - are the newcomers this season (although Saka did make a PL appearance in 2018/19). Maybe we should have a different award for it.
  3. Err, should that not be about age then? Because playing time makes little because TAA played in all 38 league games this season and 3,176 minutes. Not sure how much restriction can you place there.
  4. Apparently, we'll face Southampton at home on the opening day, if this "leak" from the FPL is anything to go by...
  5. There is a difference between thinking outside the box and simply overthinking. Guardiola does both but he commits the latter far too often in the Champions League knockout stages and the results since he last won the whole thing shows it. In domestic games and the Champions League group stages, you rarely see him tinker. He will play his best possible XI and best system and he wins more often than not because of the talent at his disposal. But once he gets to the latter stages of the Champions League these days, he will start throwing out weird lineups, weird XIs - basically deviating from the things that his sides do best. Why? Why for example did he suddenly line up with a back 3 against Lyon all of a sudden? Why didn't he just play his best XI, best system and let the talent of his players do the job against Lyon, as shown by what happened after he ditched the back 3? Guardiola has spent nearly a billion at City to build arguably the best squad in football right now and yet, he still overthinks, experiments with weird lineups like he's playing Football Manager or something.
  6. RB Leipzig are the only side Bayern have not beaten this season.
  7. Still no thanks. There is a reason why no Premier League club have gone for him all these years after Stoke's relegation. Even as a no.2, you want that keeper to be solid, decent and I don't think Butland is that. Moreover, we probably will have a number of turnovers in the playing squad that we don't need another unnecessary one like the backup keeper. Caballero will do just fine for one more season. That 8-10 million could be better used elsewhere right now.
  8. Maybe Guardiola will reach the semis if he actually stops overthinking things...
  9. City have spent god knows how many millions under Guardiola and they have yet to reach a single Champions League semi final, never mind a final. Fraud.
  10. The scenes if it's an all French final Need a live camera inside the UEFA HQ for that...
  11. Also gone 5 months without competitive football and they have knocked Juventus and Man City out of the Champions League. Also just lost on penalties to PSG in the French Cup final.
  12. 2 Bundesliga and 2 Ligue 1 teams in the semi finals.
  13. Our prayer goes to you German folks on here.
  14. Have we gone back to 2012? Asking for a friend.
  15. Wait, so Chilwell is better than Reguilon? The first thing that caught my attention was that Aerial Wins stat. I know the Premier League and La Liga are two different leagues but one would think that is small key factor for Lampard given our set piece problems.
  16. Can't wait for managers to complain about having to waste subs on injury subs because of the jam-packed schedule...
  17. Yes but the point here is about pace and technique. Costa doesn't have those but nobody bothered about that, certainly the latter, because he was scoring the goals. Costa found other ways to let his qualities shine.
  18. Yet to see Matt Law, The Athletic etc even mention this...
