Had the feeling that we might squeeze out a goal from somewhere in the second half and if we could do that, it would be game over because Newcastle were just parking the bus and were hopeless going forward. As for the offensive trio, yes, Ziyech, Havertz and CHO might not have played a lot of minutes together but one would still expect better from them, especially against a side like Newcastle. Ziyech had a few dangerous shots but did nothing much again. Havertz also didn't do much and CHO looked the liveliest of those three. And I agree with you that the WBs are attackers in the offensive phase but at the same time, we also can't expect James to smash in those two kind of finishes every game. Newcastle actually did alright in preventing us from creating anything clear cut (we had 0 shots on target in the first half, for example) but had James not finished like he had, we might have been sitting here potentially complaining about a 0-0 draw and our attacking play malfunctioned against the side second from bottom.

If Conte could turn Moses into a half decent RWB, then it's not that surprising to someone like Tuchel being able to turn Chilwell and James into a good WBs and those two are at least full backs, unlike Moses.

He didn't play the full first team but he did play some of them, IIRC. Off the top of my head, I remember Van Dijk played in that one. Got bullied by Giroud. The two-legged semi final is in between our league games against Liverpool and City. So, I don't know about starting our first team there. Plus, there's also an FA Cup tie in that period and we don't know when exactly the CWC is gonna happen.

Is it really just to use them or is it down to the opposition? We used the 3-5-2 against City because I presume we wanted to avoid getting overrun in midfield. But I do not know why Tuchel went with 3-5-2 at Brentford. Plus, there's also the fact that we went with that system a few times at the back end of last season. Otherwise, we have seen Tuchel use both strikers in the 3-4-3 against Southampton and Malmo.

One could argue that he was robbed of the award last year, after it got conveniently cancelled. Plus, he also broke Gerd Muller's 49-year record this year. He's a deserving winner really.

Incredible that David Moyes has really rediscovered his mojo from his Everton days. Also depends on what we do really. I mean we'll likely rotate again and the two games so far has been, as you said, a clusterfuck. And the QF is in between games against Spurs and Leeds. Don't think Klopp will play his first team at all, unless he gets us or Spurs or Arsenal.
