So basically you're suggesting we take a gamble on Torres and Sturridge for the first half of next season at the very least?! I'm sorry, that just ain't gonna work. IF we are to challenge at the very top again, we need to have a proper striker in the team - clinical & a team player. Stick with Torres & Sturridge for next season and I'm afraid we'll be challenging for the Top 4 again, not for the title. Also, you made it sound so easy to sell Torres and buy a new striker in the winter transfer window! Which club out there with a proper ambition of their own would sell their striker half way through season when they are trying to achieve their own targets? Even IF they do want to sell, that club would surely inflate the striker's price and it would be heck a lot costlier than the price during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, no clubs out there would want to take a gamble and purchase Torres in the January transfer window if he isn't firing at all! In addition, the way you're saying about how we won't have any money left to buy a striker is as if we're gonna spend 20-30+ million for all our next purchases. Who's to say the club won't surprise us with more cheap bargain & good signing like Marin? Newcastle managed to get Cabaye, Cisse & Ben Arfa all for less than 10 million each! We'll also may be looking to sell 2-3 players in the summer which means there would be additional funds from there to add into the transfer budget for the next manager.

Sturridge is still yet to convince fully even at RW. Lukaku is still young and yet to be proven at the very top level despite 1-2 promising cameos. And Torres is basically wrecked, mentally and is a hit-and-hope striker at the moment. So, we definitely need to get AT LEAST one prolific and clinical striker in the summer!

Between a RB and a striker, I would say we need the latter more at the moment. We need a prolific goal scorer and not relying on one who is mentally wrecked!

Wouldn't be surprised if we drop points here because we have often been crap when it comes to taking advantage of others' slip up AND our league form have not been convincing as well despite all the recent stunning cup wins.
