He is likely to win more trophies here than he would at Atletico Madrid. Furthermore, they are doing well so far in La Liga but yet to face Barcelona and Real Madrid. Lets see how they fare against them first before saying they are level with Barcelona and even challenging for the title. May well tail off soon.

Yes, we all hate Benitez and it is very unlikely that we will ever like him but what would we have to gain by voicing our displeasure against him in matches? He won't care. Also, sounds so easy for you to say that the players won't be affected the chants. You might be fine with it but not everyone are going to be comfortable with it. We are on a poor run of results now and the team need our support more than before. If we really care for the team, back them and ignore Benitez in matches. That's my point!

I'm surprised Torres even got a vote!

TBF, don't think that was anything as bad as this. Even Grant received a slightly better reception than this.

Fulham have become something of an annoyance to us in recent games. We have drawn our last 3 encounters against them in the league(4 if you include the League Cup game last season). Last win against them came in November 2010 where a header goal by Essien gave us a 1-0 win.

Benitez only had 3 days of training before this huge game and the first priority was to sort out the defence. Attack is likely to suffer as a result. Give him some time to find the right balance between attack and defence.

So, you want our team filled with some young players to play in a toxic and spiky atmosphere every week? Lovely. Lets not embarrass ourselves any further. The situation is bad enough as it is. Not saying we should like Benitez because I won't either but for the sake of the team, stop abusing him and support the team during matches! Weren't we all disgusted by the way Blackburn fans were abusing Steve Kean last season? It was rather pathetic and embarrassing. If fans want to make feelings known the board, do it another way, not chanting RDM and/or abusing Benitez during matches. Players will be affected. They are humans after all, not robots!

Ruiz and Kacaniklic are both out with hamstring injuries and Hangeland is serving his red card suspension(2nd of the 3 games). Big plus for us!

The abuse and chants against Benitez today is just pathetic. As much as we all dislike or hate Benitez, we need to start judging him objectively and not being influenced by emotions. Booing and abusing Benitez won't help the team. The players will be affected & they don't deserve to the victims of this situation. Benitez will likely last till end of the season. Abuse him and he won't care. Team suffers and he walks away with a big fat paycheck!

FIRST clean sheet in 11 games in all competitions. Last clean sheet was back in 2nd October - 4-0 win over Nordsjaelland. Unlike under RDM, today we focus more on keeping the shape & defend together as a unit than being gung-ho. Attack suffered as a result. Only the first game under Benitez but it worked today. Will take time for him to find the right balance. Tough run of games over. Now, Fulham(H), West Ham(A), Nordsjaelland(H) and Sunderland(A) are our next 4 games before the CWC. Would expect Benitez to be less defensive now in those games and be a bit more offensive than today. Overall, happy to take the point. Looked poor going forward but solid defensively for once and got that clean sheet. Best to just move on. Fulham on Wednesday to come.

Our dullest game of the season! Awful. Just bloody awful!

True but that is only likely to be this season and won't be repeated again in the future. What makes you think we won't finish in Top 4 this season? Yes, we have a few problems to fix with the team but they are mostly our defensive problems. If Benitez can fix it, which he should, then I think we would not have much problems to finish in the Top 3/4. That definitely has to be our aim this season after last season's league form debacle. We are still in a good position to do that especially when you consider the other contenders' form right now. And you are only looking at this short term wise. In the long run, we are likely to win more trophies than Dortmund.

Think you made the point before. Both Cahill and Luiz should not partner each other at CB. Brings out the worst in them and they have looked much better when playing with either Ivanovic or Terry at CB instead.
-
Well, that was rather disappointing. Had hoped for some drama. Apparently that is a good reliable source as Peter has known MON from his Leicester days.

Reports coming out that Martin O'Neill has handed in his resignation at Sunderland. Yet to be confirmed though.

They're 2 point above us and 2 behind City.

Thank goodness Everton and Arsenal dropped points today. Would not have been ideal had both won today. Hopefully, we can get the 3 points tomorrow and pull clear.
-
Everton have now won just 1 of their last 7 Premier League matches - W1 D5 L1. Strange that the media continuously talk about Everton good start to the season but fail to point out their poor run of results recently. Everton's next 7 Premier League games - Arsenal(H), Man City(A), Tottenham(H), Stoke(A), West Ham(A), Wigan(H) and Chelsea(H). Not easy at all.

Warning to those who jinx the result at Old Trafford!!
