  1. Guess they needed something 'silly' to write on during this dull international break..
  2. @hjperdeath, can see where Martin Lipton is coming from with that piece but really, it's only 4 games into the season and there are legitimate reasons why the likes of Mata and Azpi are yet to feature regularly in the starting XI. Just pathetic to try add fire to the flame right now.
  3. If you wanna go by that, then you'll find he only gets around 90-100k p/w wages after tax..
  4. Think Rmpr was just being sarcastic there, or I hope he is..
  5. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mourinho-Football-The-Beautiful-Game/dp/0755365534/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1378674204&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=jose+mourinho Looks like Mourinho's autobiography will be coming out next year in October.
  6. Suspect Mourinho might use Schurrle on the RW again after the way he performed against Bayern in the last game. Has the pace and will help to track back and defend against Baines while also capable of sprinting past him on the counter.
  7. Silva primarily starts or plays out wide with a high tendency then to drift in to central positions.. I'm saying it's impossible or highly unlikely, whichever one, because of our wage structure. We aren't going to break it and pay over the odds for 21 y/o now and leave ourselves in an undesirable situation later just because he was chased by many other big clubs. We got Hazard for more reasons than just the wages.
  8. Can't help it when I keep on seeing small, petty, trivial debates turn into a whole big annoying argument when there's no need to.. You are not necessarily wrong there but on the other hand, if members really like/want to participate in this forum mainly because to interact with other members, discuss about football or non-football matters, then I don't think they are gonna let a virtual MOTM award bother them too much at all. Yes, we all as human want to be recognized for our contribution by others but it's only over the Internet. Members come to this forum for a variety of reasons and they don't do it because of wanting to win this award.
  9. And then you conveniently ignored the likes of Nasri, Silva, Young, Valencia, Kagawa, Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria... No, I did not choose the French/Belgian media because I want them to be right. I'm more inclined to believe them because they know Hazard's situation better and also because the English media always have an agenda against us and tends to have a negative slant in their news whenever it's about us.
  10. Choo Choo, you need to cut down on those *ahem* hammers. It's clearly having an effect on you. Just because he was chased by the big European clubs last summer, it doesn't mean we are going to go over the top in paying the wages just to get him here. The wages maybe a factor but what led to Hazard choosing us over the others was game time, which he kinda mentioned last year. We were able to offer him consistent game time because we had looked to rejuvenate the old squad by bringing new and fresh players in. Had he gone to the likes of United, City or Real Madrid, doubt he would have played as much as he did here last season. And furthermore, the French and Belgian media, who knew more about Hazard, said he's only earning around 110k-120k p/w wages which is arguably far more trustworthy than the English media who are forever trying to paint the picture that we pay astronomical wages to players and they only join us because of money. There were also actually reports that United offered more wages to Hazard than we did.
  11. And doubt the club will be such an idiot themselves to pay a 21 year old Hazard then, however talented he is, 180k p/w wages. Will only put ourselves in a disadvantage position when we negotiate contract renewal next time, if that happens. Moreover, the club has a wage structure in which they operate with and we aren't as ridiculous, like the media claim to be, to just simply offer a player astronomical wages like 300k p/w wages to someone for example or even 200k, 250k etc.
  12. Think we can save the exposure till next weekend. Don't need another Chelsea player to pick up an injury right now. *touch wood*
  13. Yes but even then, I did not bother myself too much with it and as I said, at the end of the day, it's just a virtual recognition award. Think you're slowly missing the point here. My point is why does there need to be so much fuss about this MOTM award. Some time ago, hardly anyone said anything and then suddenly, all the noise start coming up.
  14. Trying to make it better is one thing, but there will always be some that ends up complaining about it when the change(s) is being implemented. And if the whole forum really knows it, then there wouldn't be this petty debate about the MOTM award like almost every single time.
  15. Exactly! It pisses me off when people are just so gullible to believe any wages reported by the English media. Even know some idiots on Twitter who thinks Cole is on 200k p/w wages because of 1 news published by The Sun when he renewed his contract last year!
  16. Just realized Brazil will be playing Portugal in US this coming week. In US! Hope Mourinho doesn't overplay Oscar when club football returns. Don't think it's a case of not caring too much, rather not worried too much but that being said, it's still something not to be taken for granted.
  17. Can't quite believe that there is so much commotion being caused every time when this comes around. It's just a 'virtual' award that recognizes the contribution of a member each month to the forum. No one gets any tangible rewards like prize money for winning this award or even intangible rewards like receiving power to do whatever they want in the forum. Will it kill you if you don't win it or the people that you think should win it but doesn't? No. So, I really don't quite get why there has to be so much fuss about such trivial thing every single time!
  18. Continuation from the interview yesterday... http://youtu.be/DmMWlNFsh3I
  19. On hindsight, after 2 years what he has achieved, seeing him earning that amount right now is obviously . But back when he joined, 67k p/w wages look reasonable.
  20. Torres's best performance? Making that run and winning the corner in Munich.
  21. Those are fake quotes.. :banghead:
  22. If anyone is interested, Neil Barnett interviewed Robben after the game. Skip to 9:25 for the interview.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1JSLc96Z4w
  23. Hazard not known for his defending? Let's not stick with the old cliche stuff here. His defending has improved immensely since last November. There have been so many occasions in games where you see him tracking back, making challenges, winning the ball back and all that. That's right. We ain't going to Basel 4 days after Everton because we're facing Basel at Stamford Bridge...
