Have to say, while Mourinho is right with everything he said about Wenger being a failure for his lack of success in the past 8 years, it feels as though he has taken the bait from Wenger in responding so much to him which is almost like Pellegrini responding to Mourinho's taunt/comments recently. Wenger probably knew Mourinho will be annoyed by this and thus tried to riled him up and he perhaps got it, especially when Mourinho has looked pissed when talking about it yesterday (though he already didn't look too happy when he arrived for his press conference).

We may have been interested in buying Schurrle even before Mourinho came back but even he agreed with the transfer move if reports are to be believed and especially when you consider Schurrle's strengths and attributes suit Mourinho's demands as well as style of play he's trying to implement on this team. Again if reports by the German media are right, then part of the reason why Schurrle hasn't started so many games in recent times is because Mourinho wants him to build up his strength and not be too much of a lightweight.

Although Schurrle wasn't signed to be a first choice player, can't say he isn't needed to bolster our squad depth.

Agree. Don't think it was OTT either. Mourinho, after all, was only speaking about football terms in Wenger being a failure (not overall as a person in life) and he was only speaking the truth.
