Quite tragic that we couldn't even score a goal yesterday when Villa have only kept 1 clean sheet in their previous 25 home league games! ONE!

Decent in the first half seems a rather generous evaluation. Made a few decent runs behind Villa's high line but other than that, he was almost non-existent and his first touch was absolutely appalling! I mean really though, how many more levels can Torres sink to in terms of awfulness? Almost every game these days he plunge into a new level of abysmal-ness!

Playing all 3 of Mikel, Lampard and Ramires is rather suicidal when all of them are 1 yellow card away from a 1 game suspension in Europe. If they all get a yellow card and we progress into the QFs, we are gonna have issues finding a midfield from somewhere then..

We have generally always looked toothless or non-threatening and it has gone on for quite awhile now. We only had joy in our attack in that City game because there were spaces and gaps for us to attack which most player would enjoy and flourish in. Otherwise, we looked clueless in how to break down opposition's defence when they come to sit deep and defend only.

Will be weird having to cheer on both United and Spurs a lot more than I thought earlier today when they face Liverpool and Arsenal respectively tomorrow...

Considering we were chasing the goal that we desperately need, wonder why Mourinho didn't just throw in Lampard or even Salah with his last sub. Losing 1-0 or 2-0 wouldn't exactly make a difference..

By the way, Galatasaray also failed to win their league game this weekend though they didn't lose. Drew 0-0 with Karabükspor. They are in 2nd and sit 2 points behind Fenerbahce who have played 2 games less than them.

Indeed. Referee decisions aside, don't think we genuinely did enough to win the game. Dealt with Villa's threats well but we didn't really offer much going forward and we had 15 shots with just 2 on target. That itself already tells a story of our (constant) failings (this season). A draw, though, would probably be the least we deserved as Villa themselves didn't really trouble us either barring 2-3 chances on the break.

Really, not sure why people still go on with that about Mata and De Bruyne not being fighters and fight for their place in the team. They did try to fight and get in there, especially in Mata's case but the fact is, they are not suited to Mourinho's demands and system and they want to be playing week in week out, which is something that you can't really blame them on. Those 2 factors and the fact that we got good bids for them were the reasons why we sold them.

The thing is, can we really expect a player to be perform well consistently if he only plays a game here and there? If we are to truly judge his consistency and performances as a player, we need to do so if or when he starts a number of games consecutively.

And back then, we were saved by that red card on Benteke to level things up. Otherwise, we weren't really troubling Villa at all. No such luck this time and his idiocy cost us!

Like others have mentioned above, Matic was fantastic for the first 60-65 minutes or so and then ran out of steam after that. His challenge in that buildup to Villa's goal was almost like Luiz's suicidal challenge that you normally see from him. Looks greats if he wins it but almost disaster if he doesn't.

If only we can somehow merge him together with Mata or Silva right now. Would have been perfect!

Think Schurrle would have been a perfect player to have in the XI from the beginning to exploit that highline of Villa. We weren't doing that enough and only Torres was doing it but even then, he was rubbish..

Not finding excuses for Torres at all here as he was an utter garbage out there today but really, was he actually even 100% fit for the game?!

Totally inexcusable for that appalling and mindless challenge and because of that, we'll now miss him for 3 games including Arsenal next weekend. Not the first time it has happened but Ramires has a tendency of going OTT with challenges when the pressure is really on and in the heat of the moment in a match.

Hull were so clueless. Not enough variations in their play and just kept on crossing all day long. It wouldn't be that bad if they were still having shots at goal from it but bloody hell, how many times did they get caught offside from it?! If City are going to drop points, it will be after next weekend (they play Fulham at the Etihad next Saturday while we face Arsenal) where they play both United and Arsenal away in the space of 5 days.
