Indeed. He's definitely adept at different approaches to defending - he can put heavy pressure on the player and close the ball down (like he did yesterday) or be a little stand off-ish when needed to be (such as when facing the pacey, skillful wingers). Out of all the defenders we have, he's arguably the only proactive one while the others are reactive than anything.

Think Terry got a little carried away after the game, saying we feel like champions. Mourinho was kinda upset about it.

His passing was still bad but at least the overall performance was better than last week. And I must say, it's funny every time he trolls the opposition and wins fouls for us.

Bit like the Capital One Cup final against Spurs - struggled in the early stages of the game but got better as the match went on. Even took Fellaini to the cleaners near the end of the game.

Did well today but is it just one of those rare good performances or is he coming back to form? We shall see in the next few games.

Deservedly got a great reception before the game and during it when he was taken off. Even waited at the tunnel at FT to greet the players. And, it still hurts.

This thread is unbelievably quiet. Thought he was superb defensively today. Kept Mata quiet all game and didn't let anyone else cause us trouble from his side. It really speaks volume that whenever our opponents attack, they usually do it down the left rather than the right.

Mourinho mentioned that after the game, saying it would be the only thing we'll hear all week from this game.

Honestly thought he gave a penalty right at the end but thank goodness Herrera dived and Mike Dean didn't fall for it.
