  1. Wilshere did this before last year with the anti-Spurs chant and it doesn't quite matter if he was speaking his mind or not. He's a professional and should have known better.
  2. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-keeper-petr-cech-poised-5814027 And the international break ends on next weekend...
  3. Not that it matters but Icardi has signed a new contract at Inter Milan until 2019.
  4. Remy might not be on Costa's level but he has proved more than adequate enough to lead the line when given the opportunity (mind, not saying he should be first choice). But yet, people think he should be moved aside for someone like Falcao even though the current situation shows Remy is in way better state and form than Falcao.
  5. Not get ahead of ourselves with Remy? More like people are just under-appreciating him despite having scored goals and put in the performances for us. It's probably because he isn't fancy enough that people feel the need to discard him for someone with a bigger name. There are players who do well for their national teams but not their clubs. Form at international level doesn't mean much if you can't replicate it at club level. Just ask Podolski, for instance. Falcao is more risky than any possible deal we might be doing because of his form and injury in recent seasons.
  6. The Sampdoria president? Think he can forget about getting Zouma. We don't exactly have many options in defence right now - Ivanovic, Cahill, Zouma, Terry, Azpi and Luis (only 6 defenders!) - and I doubt Mourinho is going to weaken the backline when we don't need to, especially if Luis is leaving. We've been lucky that none of them have suffered any injuries in 14/15 and we'll be down to bare bones next season if 102 defenders pick up an injury.
  7. Like The Mak pointed out above, we've heard that before...with Torres and look where that got us. How sure are you it's just a confidence thing? Maybe he's past his best and is slowly going downhill. Even when he was at Monaco, he wasn't exactly setting the world alight either. Let me get this straight. Earlier you were confidently saying Falcao is better than Remy and certain that he'll be a success for us. But now, you are saying he's worth a gamble if he comes on loan? In other words, you're not 100% sure he'll do well for us..
  8. How often do we have problem with scoring the first goal in matches? We play with 1 striker and yet, take 2014/15 for example, we opened the scoring in 28 of the 38 league matches. City practically play with 4-4-2 against every team in the league and they have come unstuck against the lesser sides as well, not just the big ones. I seem to remember that we conceded the 2 goals against Newcastle from counter attacks, which can happen regardless of the formation played at that point of time. You say we usually play better in the second half because we take a more attacking approach. Yeah, we do that at times and we do it with just one striker. Didn't have any problem with getting at least a win/draw when needed to, no? Managers like Fergie played that formation but he does it with 2 wingers and attacking full backs, which is different to what we do. When Falcao is in form? The question is, will we even see him regain his form?
  9. Journalists asked Mourinho about the Costa, Griezmann rumours but nothing on Falcao. Amusing.
  10. Not saying we should have Remy to provide the outlet but it's important to have strikers who are not one-dimensional like Falcao for instance. Offers more option and variation in buildup plays. People are underestimating that in the attacking third. Besides, given Falcao's form in recent years, what makes you think he'll even be a success here?
  11. City may have streamrolled the lesser teams but they have also come unstuck because of the 4-4-2. On the top of that, look where the system has gotten him to in the bigger scheme of things. We have Matic and Fabregas in midfield but the latter is not the best when it comes to defensive duties and we have been exposed on several occasions because of that, even with 3 in midfield in our 4-2-3-1 system. Playing just those 2 in midfield is likely to make it worse (excluding desperate situations). If you're going to say I overestimate mid-table clubs, then I could easily say you're underestimating them. I'm only highlighting the fact that there is quality in majority of the Premier League teams and if you take them lightly, you'll pay the price. Having 2 world class strikers upfront is one thing but it's another to actually make it work. Besides, I wouldn't put Falcao in the world class category in his current state.
  12. Doubt it. Most teams, if not all, play with 3 in midfield and if we don't have enough of the ball in that area, we won't create enough goalscoring chances to actually score.
  13. Could say the same for the other players they bought to replace Lambert, Lallana, Shaw etc.
  14. Mourinho won't go 4-4-2 unless we are desperate in matches. Anyone who quotes Marca as a source should receive a penalty here...
  15. How is Falcao an upgrade over Remy? Falcao is a goal poacher but outside of that, he offers very little in buildup plays and that is something you can't say about Remy. He scores goals and links up with others in creating goals. It's almost criminal how Remy is underrated by some here.
  16. It's inevitable that we'll get Real Madrid in the Champions League next season. Mourinho v Benitez. Mourinho v Real Madrid. Chelsea v Benitez.
  17. Taking this with a pinch of salt but...
  18. Chelsea earned a record £99m in prize money for Premier League title success
  19. Should go with - Football 1-0 Sepp Blatter/FIFA.
