  1. All hail tactical genius Mourinho! 🙌🏻
  2. Eden is all of us in this picture.
  3. It's so amazing: Bakayoko comes on, we concede right away. Congrats on 3 important points! 💙
  4. Veratti has done a Morata. Real are still lucky in this competition.
  5. Blame them? Not really because imo those are the impatient ones or at least the ones who got used to Papa Roman gifting them a new toy every 2 years or so once they get bored of the old one. The fundemental flaw in Conte was generated by higher powers not internally. He has done many questionable decisions this season but it would be ungrateful (for me at least) to turn on him because we all make mistakes, so it's a matter of hoping he could eventually turn things around as he's done in the past. The Chelsea board brings out the worst of the managers, even the worst out of us fans as I've seen lately.
  6. I am aware that it's aggressive on my part but only because I think the generalizations that are being made are quite uncalled for. You were talking about the last managers Eden played for as if all of them are Mourinhos which is highly untrue. That's why I brought up his comments from last season just to remind you that your generalization is inaccurate, not because I'm stuck in the past. But go ahead, prove me wrong if you're very sure I'm the one with the weak memory. I'll happily take it and would appreciate your help.
  7. Call me foolish then. Hell, stick delusional in there too. I can handle a whole bad season after picking us up from the obsecurity of 10th place. I didn't know you had the authority to take away credit by the way. Very impressive.
  8. Are we going to ignore last season where he was given freedom in attack by using the 3-4-3? He even mentioned that he was enjoying his new role and playing for a manager who was a footballer once. Ok, I'm with you on Mourinho but Conte? Yeah he was ultra-defensive yesterday and vs Barcelona but other than that? I don't think so. Eden flourished under Conte but I guess your memory is weak.
  9. Well, his case is up for debate in my opinion. He was a last minute transfer after failures of securing a CB and last season was saved by the 3-4-3 formation just like Cahill, Moses and Alonso.
  10. This isn't a pool of mediocrity, it's just a collage I made to remind myself every once in a while of how ambitious and efficient the Chelsea board has been in the Conte era. I left out the other signings because they either were actually decent or had the potential to be decent.
  11. I don't understand all the criticism regarding the defensive approach as if we actually had a chance against that City side! United were criticized for the same tactics against them, but Arsenal were also criticized for using the opposite approach. If we lose 1-0 we'll be called coward and gutless. If we lose 5-0 we'll be called spineless and shaky. It's not about how bad we are, it's about how good they are. People are acting like this is the City from last season, it absolutely is not.
  12. We have 2, one of them could do it in the 2nd half.
  13. You assume they don't care, and that caring and winning go hand in hand but that's not entirely true. You could care so much but still end up losing. Some players could not care about their club but still perform to the max for other reasons. And you knew what you were getting yourself into when you started supporting Chelsea, a team that has a high chance of having many "spoiled rich athletes", unless someone forced you to. If you do care so much about the Chelsea shirt you'd support the team in spite of all the players you don't like, through thick and thin. I don't know about you but my understanding is that the whole concept of being a supporter is to always believe until it's over. By your logic, every Chelsea fan should have stopped watching the "pointless matches" of 2012 after the sacking of AVB.
  14. Imagine becoming a supporter of a team only to stop watching after that team fails to make you happy. Lovely.
  15. Laugh all you want, I don't really care. I refuse to wallow in the mire when there is still hope.
  16. Okay, we didn't win the Arsenal and Barcelona games because of luck, that's 4. The 2 infamous defeats (the ones that led us to this position) were because of unfortunate circumstances, that makes it 6. If Morata's goal vs United counted who knows what could have happened, I genuinely believe we were unlucky for the most part there, that's 7. We've technically won the Norwich tie (mostly playing our 2nd team) so that makes it 9 games. This leaves the Leicester game where I don't think we were good enough to win. In my opinion that's the only game where we had no reasons for not winning. Back to the top 4 race: As long as we are mathematically in it, we are in it.
  17. That's the thing: You choose to view it as inconsistency, I choose to view it as being unlucky. Taking the horror of the Bournemouth and Watford games aside (which are both justified for the Christensen injury and the fuck-ups of Bakayoko, Cahill and Luiz), we were pretty much in it during the rest of our recent matches where we had our strongest XI possible but fell short mainly because of luck more than anything else. I've seen sparks in those matches, and overall I believe luck was the deciding factor, but that's just me. Liverpool and Spurs have had their share of questionable results this season but still appear in form to you right now. This could be temporary and things change quickly in football. I hope the players don't have your mentality. Might as well withdraw from every competition if we lose tomorrow! It's not like the 15-16 season, we would still have a chance to crack the Top 4.
  18. Didn't Man City claim a Top 4 finish at the very last MW last season? 🤔
  19. I really don't think so because: 1. We still have to play both Liverpool and Tottenham at the Bridge. 2. Both of them have thin squads and are still in the CL so there could be plenty of scenarios that would hold them back from consistency in the league.
  20. Although both are capable of spending, my point of focus was using their status and history to attract players. Man City and PSG can be super rich but they don't have the history advantage.
  21. Thibaut Courtois agent: 'No talks held with Paris Saint-Germain' "I have never heard of that meeting," he told reporters. "If any club is interested they know what they have to do - find a deal with Chelsea and then talk to me to check my client interest." "RTBF is a small TV channel in Belgium and sometimes they like a little thrill to keep them alive. But their information is not correct."
  22. There will always be Real Madrid and Barcelona who would want to lure those players into their squads. City's history is nothing compared to those two, and I predict both to bid for players like De Bruyne, Sane and Jesus in the future. So contrary to your analysis, I think the longevity of this City team is questionable and far from being certain.
