  1. I'll take off my Kalou-tinted glasses for a moment, even if that was true Villas-Boas was unfair but still within his rights to do so. That's one way to deal with contract rebels. When I put them back on I'll be ranting about how this is basically a form of pre-Bosman abuse of the working rights of the footballer.
  2. Name me more than 3 other occasions this season where there was nothing to criticise 10 of the 11 starters.
  3. The spot light always goes on goalscorers and not defenders. He was good tonight, but our entire back 4 was excellent as well. As a team, other than Mata, everyone played well, that's got to be one of our best all-round performances this season.
  4. Only 1 big game where we failed to win, then. That is really astonishing, I knew his goals were important but not like this!
  5. Shamelessy stolen from Blues Master, who saw this stat on twitter last night: Incredible.
  6. And much of Benfica's poor performance tonight can be attributed to Jardel and Emerson. Take them out and it probably would have finished 0-0.
  7. New contract please Here are some quotes from Kalou: What a man
  8. And as for Napoli, I think they would have destroyed Benfica, 3-1 or maybe even 4-1. Your defence is just too slow, Lavezzi and Cavani would have a field day. Emerson in particular was embarrassed repeatedly by Ramires and Torres for sheer pace. Our defence is somewhat quicker and they still beat us 3-1, with their goals coming simply from being faster on the counter.
  9. Spot on. Many of us are celebrating too early. Benfica were far from their best, how much of that was their own fault or a result of our defence I don't know, but the point remains is that they were poor and we still only knocked one past them. I'm still a bit concerned over the second leg, we can't afford to turn up and play like we're through already.
  10. I'm 100% convinced Neymar's career trajectory will be even steeper than Robinho's- by that, I mean a faster rise and then a faster fall. There's so much hype around him, it's gotten to his head and that's why he brings an arrogant attitude with himself wherever he goes. There are reports of him missing training sessions, drinking and visiting nightclubs too much during the season. And then there's this business where he sacked his manager by having an arguement with him- the club backed him and had Dorival Jr. sacked. He's going to be washed up by the time he's 23. I know it's a bold call but I firmly believe it, because he's never disciplined- he's just coddled because he's Neymar and the darling of Brazil. That's not going to happen when he moves to Europe, managers won't tolerate that kind of ego where he thinks he's above the law, and clubs certainly will give much harsher punishment to such childish punishment. By 25 he'll probably weigh as much as Ronaldo or Mario Jardel did in their later years, and he'll bring the same work ethic and attitude of Ronaldinho.
  11. Not for me- or many others I hope- personally. I supported his decision to drop those 3 in Napoli.
  12. I only got 3 hours sleep as well, and wisely chose to not attend Uni, I had a killer headache around lunch time and had to go to sleep.
  13. I think Rossi is great actually, too good for Villareal. He should be playing for a bigger team. Imagine Lavezzi-Cavani-Rossi
  14. Hi solo You shouldn't watch the match it wasn't that great.. we defended really well.
  15. Di Matteo deserves a shout. His team selection tonight was masterful, as were his tactics.
  16. This isn't the first time 'Red Nev' has turned pro-Chelsea. In our away trip at Napoli he kept spouting crap like 'Napoli are a very poor team minus Cavani and Lavezzi, Chelsea should win this tie with ease', and 'Napoli are essentially a 1 man team and if Chelsea can keep that man quiet they've won'. He's either extremely pro-English or an idiot, neither Napoli nor Benfica are that bad, he made it out on both occasions as though we were playing a 2nd division team. And actually, I thought David Luiz's goal-line block was a penalty and not Terry's handball, he had no time to get his arm out of the way it would be physically impossible, the ball travelled from the Benfica players boot to Terry's arm in less than .1 of a second, no one can react that fast so it would have been really unfair to penalise him for that.
  17. He's turning into a pretty decent winger/second striker. From today's performance against Emerson, I'd say that either his pace is coming back or Emerson is really, really slow.
  18. Oh Mario http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17531205
  19. Torres has had 3 good games in a row now, but he had a similar run early in the season and then promptly went on a 20 match streak of utter wank. For me, the jury's still out on him.
  20. Kalou played really well tonight, you're being very harsh. Forget the goal, name me one player on our books who would have performed better. There are amoebas on undiscovered planets that would make better wingers than Dan Sturridge, and Malouda is probably the most selfish winger in Europe.
  21. Not necessary. Last three lines are all we'll ever need. Google Translate says its 'Just Who Deserves Respect' He was being sarcastic
