Cherki is on another planet in terms of key passes/progressive passes/chances created compared to our wingers/attacking midfielders. There is no one in our squad like him.
-
You say no more creative players like we have creative players in the attack. ALL of our wingers prefer to dribble and cross. Just look at the second half earlier it was rinse repeat the same attacking pattern over and over. Having a goalscorer would do nothing against a low block like that when we are just aimlessly crossing. We are in desperate need of an attacking midfielder who has elite creativity. Someone who can thread a ball that no one sees. Until then it will be the same as West Ham, and a goalscorer fixes none of that.

Forget Lavia and Adams. Caicedo/Ugochukwu - Enzo/Santos
-
Caicedo is more transformative for our team than getting two lesser, more inexperienced midfielders. We only have ourselves to blame that its got to this stage. Its nice to see a player with desire to come here though. Pretty unprecedented for a transfer of this level, a British record fee, for a player to hesitate and wait for the club he wanted to join.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Lavia a similar profile to Enzo and Santos, ie more of a deep-lying playmaker? We're looking for a partner for Enzo not a lesser version of him. There is no scenario where this is redeemable now.
-
We fucked around in a position where we couldn't afford to fuck around, twice. First with Ugarte and now this. We're about to go into the season with a midfield average age of 12.

Keep seeing comments about how Sanchez commands his box but whenever I saw him for Brighton he was an absolute clown when facing crosses. Misjudging, flapping.. Not sure I like the transfer, especially from Brighton.
-
Onana vs Ugo when they were both 19 years old, in Ligue 1. You can definitely see that Ugochukwu is more of a 'project' signing.
-
Caicedo looks far better on the ball than I thought he was. Shame him and his agent have a had a mare, dumb and dumber. Shouldn't be playing if he was so intent on a move.
-
Jackson's first time passes are so crisp and clean. We finally have a striker who doesn't fall over their feet doing the most basic stuff. Tears in my eyes.
-
Seen a few Lyon matches on TV and every time he's looked absolute quality, the closest to Hazard in pure talent from a young player. But he's quite slow and does no defensive work. Might not work with Poch, or most top clubs.
-
The pitch is pretty awful but his link up play is still really clean in terms of both technique and game intelligence to bring others into play. This is all I ask for as a minimum from a striker. 👌
-
You can never fully tell from clips but he looks class on the ball, someone who even if they aren't scoring can contribute in matches. Reminds me a bit of Anelka and he was one of my favourite players in the modern era. Also has similar movements with his body when dribbling to Mousa Dembele (Spurs one) when he was playing as a striker for AZ. Anyone seen more of him?
-
That was against Palace away I believe. Pretty much sums Havertz up. He's a player capable of producing moments of amazing technique.... once or twice per season. And that's what they are, moments. We need this technique in his general play whether it be dribbling, creative passing, ball retention in general over the whole 90 minutes, week in week out. I could forgive the lack of goals/creativity if he did atleast that.
-
I like Mount as a player but if we get over £50m each for him and Havertz it has to be the biggest heist since we sold Oscar to China surely?
-
Feel if we want Ugarte we better wrap it up quickly before Mourinho goes to PSG. He'll be able to convince him otherwise.
-
He's absolutely ancient but I'd love to get Busquets for a season, or someone in the style of a Busquets/Rodri type. Him + a young DM understudy, while having Kante and Enzo.
-
Honestly Ziyech could still have a role to play in the CL if we go far. We'd only have Sterling as an obvious RW choice considering Noni isn't likely to be registered. Gotta feel bad for him though. Hopefully he remains professional, wishful thinking.

@Vesper Thoughts on Orkun Kökçü?
-
[Gazzetta] Inter and Milan Skriniar are moving apart. It is becoming increasingly likely for the defender to LEAVE the club at the end of June 2023 for free @Vesper
-
By no means an expert on the player as I've only seen him play in the CL this season, but he was really impressive. Said this a few weeks ago on here: Posted January 3 When I've seen him in the CL this season, electric dribbler with pretty decent end product. But the thing that most impressed me was that he dribbles at pace with his head up at all times, which is quite rare for tricky wingers. Allows him to always be aware of his surroundings and pick good passes while on the run.
-
Probably an unpopular opinion here but at this moment I think our attack (wingers & strikers) is a far bigger problem than any other area in the team. I don't see how a top midfielder fixes our forwards (bar Felix) not being able to shoot, pass, dribble, hold on to the ball for 2 seconds without losing it. At the moment its just been a constant cycle of getting the ball and either losing possession or passing it backwards, absolutely dire. We've been longing for an injection of pace and magic on the wings since Hazard left. Also spending £62m initially on Mudryk is not the same as just going for Enzo as they want £105m upfront, massive difference.
-
We've literally done all we can now to stop Arsenal winning the league with Felix and Mudryk. Now can someone for the love of god put a run of form together to stop them. Anyone.
-
In that regard yeah. But Hazard had a more stop start, controlled explosiveness that was unstoppable. Mudryk is more a 100mph dribbler with only one tempo. More similar to Robben perhaps.
