  1. When I've seen him in the CL this season, electric dribbler with pretty decent end product. But the thing that most impressed me was that he dribbles at pace with his head up at all times, which is quite rare for tricky wingers. Allows him to always be aware of his surroundings and pick good passes while on the run. If Leao is renewing with Milan this is a really good option but I can't see Arsenal slipping with this one surely..
  2. That new winger Napoli have got looks like a serious player. But now he's at a club that will make it impossible for him to leave anytime soon.
  3. Actually quite like Gordon, reminds me a bit of Son in style except he doesn't have any end product, yet. £40m is for sure too much for what he is at the moment though. I assume we're after him because Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave, Ziyech is likely to leave, and we've already sold Timo? Makes sense to me, someone who can cover multiple positions.
  4. @Vesper Thoughts on Goncalo Ramos?
  5. Would you guys take Auba if it meant us getting Endrick secured for 2 years from now OR go all out for another 40m+ striker for now?
  6. Missing out on Raphinha is such a huge blow looking back now. I was fairly relaxed about him snubbing us as I thought it meant we'd get Dembele..truly mudded. Can't even see who we'd possibly target who would be nearly as good as either. 😩
  7. Any idea when the current assessment period ends?
  8. I'm sure in time Cucurella will win you over. He's a class act. Even in his cameo today, his speed of thought and precise execution of passes is far clear of a lot of the players.
  9. That would've been perfect yeah. 2 year loan with maybe a slightly reduced fee for Cucurella. Think both sides would come out feeling pretty satisfied with that. Whereas the deal currently, from browsing a bit I get the general feeling that Chelsea fans are happy with it, Brighton fans are not. And the 'neutral' fans feel we've got scammed 😄
  10. I'm really happy with this. The price is a lot yes but its more cost effective this way (as opposed to selling with a buyback) if Colwill does what we all hope he will do. We get a really good player and keep another potentially great player. What I'm a bit confused about is many people branding it as an expensive 'depth' signing, or rotation. I don't know if its an underrating of Cucurella or an overrating of Chilwell but imo he's better technically, physically, and tactically off the ball than Chilly. This is pre injury Chilwell, we don't know what he's going to be like moving forward now. But apart from the goals he scored, I haven't really seen anything great about any aspect of Chilwell's game that has made me think he should be a mainstay in the starting 11 for years to come. I think he's a good player, but I think Cucurella will straight up be the first choice LWB now. Simply because he's the better player. Only drawback I can see from this is if Colwill doesn't perform well, Brighton have absolutely no incentive to carry on playing him as he'll be gone within a year. Fingers crossed he backs up all the hype.
  11. They reportedly are looking for 20m euros as he has only 1 year left on his contract. Milan are currently heavily linked. https://streamja.com/dJeEv Seems like a no brainer for that price
  12. Assuming Kounde is gone. Evan Ndicka for 20m euros before he goes to Milan. Gives Tuchel the left footed CB he's been craving and brings a player with a not so big profile (yet) that could've made Colwill want to leave.
  13. Another possibility. Us going for Ake has prompted Colwill wanting to leave. To which we've responded by going after an additional CB (Kimpembe) to replace Colwill. Going after all 3 makes no sense to me unless something has happened with Colwill that has forced it. If this is true then it's pretty disappointing from the clubs side that its an average player like Ake that will cost us a future top player. Its disappointing from Colwill's side that its the signing of Nathan Ake of all players that has him spooked into leaving. And it disappointing for the fans because we all know what's going to happen down the line. No one wins really, except the player. This generation of players, they want everything now and aren't prepared to wait around or fight for their place, even if they've been at the club since they were 8. I call it 'The Sancho Effect' because all of this basically started with him. Broja will probably be the next gone, and then Harvey Vale next season. I can't see where he's going to get the minutes to want to sign a new deal. Hope I'm wrong though!
  14. Those suggesting Gnabry. Bayern have never sold anyone to Chelsea and Chelsea have never sold anyone to Bayern. There seems to be a hatred that stems from their side since Roman's takeover, and us nicking Ballack off them for free. The 2012 final probably also didn't help. Since then they have nicked two of our youth players, and their public pursuit of Hudson-Odoi was also pretty infuriating. I honestly think they'd rather him leave on a free than sell to us.
  15. Way I see it. Dembele was/is our first choice. We couldn't just wait around for him to make a decision to stay or leave Barca. If we wait and Dembele decided to stay, we'd have probably lost Raphinha to Arsenal by not acting fast enough. By bidding we've put ourselves in a position to get Raphinha done. Or if Barca execute lever 66 or w/e and go for Raphinha, then Dembele is definitely leaving. Win win situation either way. By doing nothing and waiting we could've easily end up with neither.
  16. To be honest I think the only way PSG are getting rid of him is by loaning him out, no one will be able to buy him. I wouldn't be opposed to getting him on a 1 year loan with an option granted PSG are heavily subsidizing his wage, so we'd be paying 400-450 max. He's still absolutely world class when he's playing, and idk I feel since Hazard left, the saying you don't know what you've got till its gone very much applies. We were spoilt by his talent, and watching our current forwards can be absolute pain a lot of the time in comparison. I feel our team is very stale in attack and lacks individual magic/brilliance. It's the reason I'd much prefer Dembele over Raphinha/Richarlison, despite the obvious risks with that. Anyway I doubt Neymar is going anywhere to be honest, perhaps Juve will sell a few Fiats and suddenly have a £1m p/w contract ready for him.
  17. Is it really that much?? Christ. 😬 Would you take him for 500k p/w if given the choice?
  18. Dreaming: Neymar on loan + one of Sterling/Dembele, with Lukaku/Ziyech/Pulisic all departing. Reality: Richarlison for 50m, Raphinha 60m, Pulisic new contract. 😩
  19. Same here. A good player no doubt, but for me more of a jack of all trades. Kind of reminds me of when Ferran Torres was at City about to leave for Barca. Everyone was saying how great he was but I just didn't see it. They have no defining attributes that sets them apart, just more of the same. I think he'd be a huge upgrade for an Arsenal etc but not for us.
  20. Interesting, I stand corrected. My apologies, I don't come here often nowadays hadn't seen you posting these previously. As long as it doesn't directly interfere with Colwill I have no issues with us signing him, I just would be so annoyed to see us repeating the same mistakes again.
  21. It's not a problem that they're left footed just that there's no evidence as far as I'm aware of either playing in the middle of a 3. Only LB and LCB for Gvardiol at Zagreb/Leipzig and LCB in Colwill's short career so far. I feel like the central position is more important to get right so entrusting a 19 year old Colwill to be the deputy for Silva could be a risk short term. Instead of shoehorning him into that role why not play him in his more natural position, and bring in someone more experienced (considering we're losing Rudiger and Azpi in that regard)?
  22. Buying Gvardiol who is the exact same profile as Colwill (LCB in a 3, similar age, left footed) would no doubt in my mind signal the end of Colwill at Chelsea. We really can't carrying on making the same mistakes over and over surely. Signing someone like Koulibaly who can play central CB and LCB in a 3, and also Kounde I guess is the most likely for RCB. Those two and Colwill coming back covers all departures and brings much needed experience. Having Koulibaly who can play in the middle is definitely something we need as we can't rely on Silva to play every game at his age. If this happens I can see Colwill having a similar first season to Reece James' first, with us starting the season with Koulibaly-Silva-Kounde but ending it with Colwill-Koulibaly-Kounde.
  23. He's been one of Inter's best players this season. Him, Brozovic, and Skriniar. Also worth noting that they have Gosens just coming back from injury and have been linked to players such as Dybala who will command a high wage. So you can see the reluctance from them not wanting to extend his contract.
  24. He'd effectively replace both Christensen and Azpi due to his versatility. From what I've seen from Ajax fans they rate him as highly and some even higher than De Ligt. Oh well.
  25. What do you think of Timber from Ajax for RCB? Reckon he's Utd bound?
