  1. Another big match, another convincing performance. Azpilicueta man of the match for me, lost count on how many times he disposessed Suarez or Coutinho. I bet @BlueMourinhoKing must be pissed, we didn't get battered in any of the games against City, Arsenal or Liverpool. Seven points out of nine against that lot and a massive fuck you from Jose to those who doubted him. Against the shit teams we could do better but for the big games we can rest easy, knowing Jose will always outsmart the opposing manager.
  2. Knew there had to be at least one surprise in the lineup and now David Luiz starts in midfield for the first time this season. I'm optimistic about our chances, keep Suarez out of the danger areas and it's job done really. Hazard to score two goals.
  3. Suarez's goalscoring record this season. I see a pattern of him only scoring against the shit teams...
  4. From Rob Beasley's twitter: Cech Ivo Cahill terry (back 3) Essien(on Suarez) Schurrle Lamps Mikel Oscar Willian Nando They guy may be a cunt but he's friends with Mourinho so no matter how ridiculous that lineup looks there may be some truth to it. Or maybe that's just what he would prefer, I don't know.
  5. Non-story. If Chelsea wants either of those players and they're willing to come, we can afford to buy them without giving away one of our brightest stars in exchange. Both of those players have buy-out clauses, which stand at £32m for Costa and £17m for Koke if rumours are to be believed, and the only thing standing in the way of a move is persuading the players to leave Atletico so if we assumed that wasn't a problem, then why not just pay the money and be done with it?
  6. My bad, I should have read the last page too.
  7. Read on Twitter that Borini lost consciousness in the dressing room at half-time and he's been taken to the hospital. Hope he's okay.
  8. And the other two clowns are, is that what you're implying? This farce has gone on long enough. Either get a new top striker in January or choose one of the current three to be the number one striker and allow him to at least try picking up good form when given a consistent run of games. I really don't care which of them gets the bigger slice of the pie because they're all shit anyway but it's pointless to keep tinkering around with the three strikers like Mourinho's done so far this season.
  9. Torres Hazard - Oscar - Schürrle Lampard - Mikel Azpi - Terry - Cahill - Ivanovic Cech So far Torres has bottled it every single time against his old club so maybe now's the time, eh?
  10. He is cup tied in the Champions League, played all six group stage matches as well as some qualifiers for Milan. Anyway, I wouldn't say no to signing him even on a permanent deal. Sure he has his issues but there's no doubting his quality and assuming he's available for around 15-20m, getting him would be a bargain compared to what the other strikers of his level are worth these days. Proven in the PL too and Jose already knows what his personality is like from their time together at Inter so if he's still willing to take a chance with him, I'm game.
  11. Some rumours in Italy that Silvio Berlusconi has had enough of Balotelli and he's to be sold in January.
  12. Did you even read what I said? I replied to the other guy saying our wingers aren't fast enough to play counter-attacks like Real Madrid and the Arsenal match you just brought up only further proves my point. Lack of pace certainly isn't the issue, the only problem is not having a playmaker to start to start those moves more quickly and more often and not having a clinical striker to finish them off.
  13. It's not about the pace and mobility of the attacking players, it's about the lack of a player capable of starting counter-attacks quickly enough. Players like Hazard, Schürrle, Willian and Ramires are all more than fast enough to see the attacks through if only we had a deep lying playmaker in midfield to make the decisive pass but instead we have players like Lampard and Mikel who hold on to the ball for too long and by the time they pass it on it's already too late and the opponent has had the time to organise their defense. Also, for successful counter-attacks it wouldn't hurt to have a striker who makes the runs at the right time and is clinical enough to actually finish off the attacks. A good striker will draw the attention of the defenders towards him with intelligent movement, thus creating space for the attacking midfielders to do their magic but our current lot of strikers just stand around there like trees, allowing the defenders to focus on keeping the attacking midfielders out of the danger areas.
  14. Looking good, can't wait to have him back.
  15. So you prefer to play beautiful football and lose rather than play counter-attacking football and try to actually get something from the game? Us not winning there for ages has got nothing to do with our approach, it's simply them being very good at home.
  16. Not a bad match, at least not as bad as some people are saying. We created lots of chances while remaining solid at the back, only thing missing was a striker capable of actually finishing those chances. Don't know about you guys but for me that's taking a step in the right direction and like Mourinho said, this team is only two or three players away from being complete and then only the sky's the limit for what we can achieve.
  17. Oi fuck off, it's like you want us to lose just so you can prove a point.
  18. Swansea are playing their B-team today so clearly they're not confident about getting the result here. Should be a clear win if our lads don't get cocky thinking the match is already won.
  19. Probably not because he only spent a year and a half at Chelsea.
  20. Cech, Azpi, Terry, Luiz, Ivanovic, Ramires, Mikel, Hazard, Mata, Schürrle, Torres
  21. Some of the people here are embarrassing, complaining after a match like this one. Jose's tactics were spot on and with a bit more luck in front of goal we'd have won this by a goal or two so I really don't see what's the issue. The same guys have been going on for weeks about how Arsenal are going to batter us but did they even get a shot on target? Like I said before the game, we've done really well in the big games this season and like I predicted this one turned out to be no different from the others. We might struggle to win the league if Jose can't get this team playing well against the smaller clubs but I can honestly see us going far in the Champions League again this season. One thing's for sure though, this counter-attacking football Mourinho's used in the games against the big boys would work so much better with a clinical striker up front.
  22. Not surprised he's been excellent this season for Everton. At Wigan, Martinez always relied heavily on his wing-backs to contribute on both ends of the pitch and Coleman is perfect for his tactics.
  23. Remember this Sturridge guy? People kept saying he was good and people like you wanted him gone, only to realise his worth when it was already too late. Obviously it's not going to be the same with De Bruyne because no matter how well he might do for his new club we still have a ridiculous amount of great attacking midfielders whereas with Sturridge gone we had only Torres, but it's still food for thought.
  24. I agree, the league has to be priority number one but not being eligible to play in a major competition is still a point worth noting. Like I said, it really comes down to what the club is looking for in January: buying a versatile squad player to help us get through the season, or trying to address the midfield problem once and for all by signing a key player for years to come. Both options have their pros and cons but at the moment us fans really have no idea which of the two options the club is going to choose.
