I think Sunderland players are surprised how sh*te United is
-
Cmon Sunderland put some hurt on Moyes! Some Championship level defending from United on that goal
-
Never an issue of class - it was always an issue of trust and none of the managers we had enough balls to drop Drogba and Torres, playing Sturridge up top. I think AVB was going to do that, according to Sturridge AVB had told him to play on the wing for a season and improve his overall ability and weaker foot and he would get a chance up top next season. But AVB got sacked and RdM changed the system in favor of defensive wingers and never rated Sturridge as a striker, barely giving him a start. I don't believe Sturridge has started as a striker for CFC more than 3 matches, he either came on as a late sub for Torres or was played out on the wing.

Suarez being Suarez major prick
-
Not sure how the defender didn't injure himself trying to keep up and there was some real venom in that shot.
-
Oh forgot it's Henderson, Moses played it out to Enrique from the center and Enrique played it into Suarez. So I would not say Moses had no role

Moses is the opposite of Suarez and Sturridge in front of goal - missed when it was easier to score, Torres school of finishing
-
Moses did well for Liverpool's opener - playing central again in front of Gerrard and Lucas
-
Moses needed to do better with his first touch there

We should have loaned Torres to Everton last season since it's very easy to score at those type of clubs we could have sold him this summer after he tore through the Premiership and ended up as top scorer
-
Torres hasn't scored 20 goals in the EPL for Chelsea in nearly 3 seasons here, yet people say that Lukaku shouldn't be starting because he hasn't scored 20 in a Blue shirt. I'd understand if Lukaku was loaned while we had Aguero/RvP or someone in that caliber banging goals in week in week out but we got Torres who can't even reach double digits in 2 full seasons at CFC and took 14 matches to score his first goal. Ba who's an injury away from retirement and hasn't set the world on fire when given chances. Coming out of retirement Eto'o who hasn't played high intensity football since going to Siberia. We loaned our best striker and to make things worse people have their heads so far up their arse they are not willing to admit we don't have anyone better.
-
Still turns in on for those big occasions LEGEND!
-
I never rated Eto'o at this stage of his career as a first choice striker and I wanted us to keep Lukaku who is miles better than all the striker we have. That doesn't mean I won't defend him against people who say he played a bad game last night considering it was a decent game we won comfortably and he had the most key passes and an assist. Torres was given ample time to prove he is useless beyond any doubt - Eto'o should be given at least 14 matches before being written off.
-
And Torres with his 15 goals in 87 matches looks like a striker that can win us the PL - let me remind you last season when he was #1 and how that worked out. Eto'o is not the answer but saying his performance was "very bad" against Steaua is as much hyperbole as saying Torres can lead us to win the PL.

Torres was MOTM against Spurs prove what undeserved praise he gets, as well as he played and I said he did play well. He scored ZERO goals; had ZERO assists; received a RED card and loosing the ball lead to Tottenhams goal. He was not fouled he fell wanting a foul and nothing was given which is often the case for Torres because he is soft. He went on to clap at the linesman a bookable offense while Tottenham counter attacked and scored a goal. Let me remind you how long it took Torres to open his account at CFC - 14 matches. You'd like to point out that Steaua's right back statistics what about the fact that Mikel has as many goals in the EPL in less minutes that Torres in 2013?
-
Let's look at some statistics from last night since I didn't watch the game 90% successful passes 21 passes total 5 key passes 1 assist These figures lead me to believe his passing was very effective, because he had the most key passes with the least amount of passes attempted and he mostly found his target(Torres usually has 70% passing accuracy and around the same amount of passes per match) 5 shots 3 shots on target He wasn't particularly wasteful considering one of those shots lead to a goal apparently - Oscar had 3 shots and none on target so he holds that accolite. 34 touches 4 Dispossession 2 Turnovers 1 Successful Dribble 0 Offsides The dispossession stat is worrying, that's what you'd expect from Torres, rest looks alright Overall it was Steaua and I would not read too much into the performance but saying it's extremely bad is just funny. Obviously his shooting let him down but his passing was spot on - so a so/so performance. Anyhow as I've said in the past I prefer a striker who shoots often than one who doesnt.
-
I doubt he was worse than Torres, that would literally mean putting the ball in his own net on 3 occasions. Torres last week against Tottenham lost the ball which lead to their goal and got send off - yet that performance was about as good as we've seen Torres play in a blue shirt.
-
1 out of 10 rating, that would mean he scored 3 own goals minimum
-
I think it had a lot more to do with Mata coming on - Mata is our best player for two years in a row how he ends up on the bench for a game like Spurs is beyond my comprehension The other factor is that we were wasting Ramires on the right wing, a position he hasn't been effective since our CL Winning Run. Moved back into the center a world of difference. Both things have little to do with Mikel and were mistakes that Jose made in the team selection, he had to sacrifice someone and he did so with Mikel because it was a more offensive switch since we were a goal down.
-
What a load of crap, Torres is as **** as the rest of our strikers, difference between him and Demba and Eto'o is that he has been **** for longer time. Relying on Torres for goals is like relying on the Moon for heat Did Backstreet change his name to the_flash?
-
You'd think we've won against Barca last night, relax guys it was Steaua - you can't draw any conclusions from last nights game.
-
He needs to score in the EPL now, no offense to Steaua of course but they would struggle to keep themselves in the Prem playing like that.
-
Spot on, I remember I think against United(3-3) Sturridge got us off to a good start after getting Evans to score an own goal. We took a 3-0 lead in that match and than Sturridge gave a penalty away later all positive things were forgotten about that performance and people were having a go at him for giving away a penalty that made the score (3-1) while the rest of the defenders including Ivanovic(who also gave away a penalty) didn't get as much criticism.

I will not address the rest of your post because it's opinions but lets concentrate on a few points 1) Sheva was a big investment, loaned and gave him out for free. He had shown far more promise in his first year than Torres did in his first year. Sheva never had the type of backing Torres did, we never build a side around and we never bothered to try and come up with elaborate excuses for him. Simply put he was too old to addapt and there was no upward curve for him. For two and half years Torres has done very little do adapt to CFC, we had to adapt to him and his fans came up with elaborate excuses for his poor form. If we had spend 2 and a half years adapting to any other striker including Sheva they would have had at the very least similar results even Kezman could have turned out better. 2) How many times has Torres bailed us out with a bit of magic, fashioning a goal for himself the way top strikers do on regular occasions you can't seriously tell me that if you take out RvP; Kun; Zlatan; Cavani; etc out of their current teams those teams won't find it difficult to replace those magic moments. They play in big clubs where opposition also parks the bus and doesn't allow them too much space. In two years Torres has probably had 2-3 such goals, where he virtually scored out of nothing a good example is his Newcastle goal - the players I mentioned above score such goals once a month at the very minimum while constantly also getting on the end of easier chances it's what makes them top players. Torres's movement inside the box is pathetic so he rarely gets normal striker goals, his match winning out put is dwarfed by a 22 year old Brazilian who has scored more goals out of thin air than Torres has done in two and half years and I'd venture to say that probably in the EPL and CL Oscar has more match changing goals than Torres as well. Lukaku has already proven to be a consistent match winner in the toughest league in the World, he might not provide moments of magic yet consistently but in due time that will happen as well. 3) Lets break those awesome 20 goals down: EPL: Newcastle(16th); Reading(relegated); Arsenal*; Norwich City(11th); Sunderland(17th) - 2 goals; Aston Villa(15th); Everton* Two goals against direct rivals in a full season and the rest coming against team in the bottom half of the table for which top teams usually rest their first choice strikers. CL: Shakhtar; Nordsjaelland - 2goals He had a lucky rebound goal against Shakhtar and bloated his tally against possibly the weakest team in the Group Stages that year. Europa League: Steaua; Rubin - 3 goals; Basel; Benfica On our route to the Final the only team we faced who might have enough quality to be in the top half of the EPL is Benfica, it was the most important goal Torres has scored for CFC against a great team. But honestly I've seen Massimo Maccarone and M'boro do well in the Europa League so it's not exactly the most vindictive competition we could win and in most years you'd face tougher teams on route to a FA Cup final than we did in our Europa League run. In fact there is many similarities between the two The difference between the two is that one was a sub player for M'Boro while the other was a first choice striker for the CL the previous year. They pretty much faced two of the clubs we faced on route to the Final, they also beat Roma and Stuttgart two teams which I'd rate higher than Rubin/Basel and lost to the third best side in Spain at the time. FA Cup:Brentford(3rd in League One) League Cup:Wolves(Relegated from Championship that year); Leeds(13th in the Championship) Club World Cup: Monterrey(11th in Mexico) So yes out of his 20 goals approximately 3/4 could be classified against good opposition, two of those could be classified against top clubs in the Continent. The rest is either Relegation threatened teams or teams who don't have enough quality to be in the Premiership. 4) Torres goes through rough patches all the bloody time, 24 hours without a goal; 6 months without a Premiership goal; etc, yet you seem to be very patient with him - well excuse me my patience ran out when he got send off against Swansea and failed to find the net in the next 1440 minutes(24 hours) of football.
