  1. Yep Torres and Ba are so much better ... oh wait
  2. They had a great graphic of his run, started on the wing ended up finishing off the move in such a great way. We don't have any striker with movement like that at the moment
  3. Classy goal by Daniel, just wen through a couple of defenders and the goal keeper
  4. But he won the "corner" I mean seriously a "corner" Imagine if he assisted in the final we would not heard the end of it for the next decade
  5. Tonight was a big chance to show Jose that he has his place in the squad - I think he blew it, doubt he would get many more stats unless he scores a goal or two as a sub. His place will be in serious doubt if we sign another striker. I do feel he does need a run in the team before being written off - but he needed to score a goal tonight to be given such a run. Anyhow Lukaku is clearly our best striker so I hope he starts against United. I hope he can tear them to shreds. Only player up top which unsettles opposition defenders and is able to get into shooting positions often.
  6. Needs to start against United, scored a hat trick last season against them; only striker we have currently that unsettles opposition defenders; only striker we have that is able to get into shooting positions constantly. Hopefully the fact he was a sub in the last 2 matches means that he is next in the scheme to start a match since we need our striker to do a lot better than Ba did tonight or Torres did against Hull. He did start a lot of games in the friendly matches so he must be raring to go
  7. We need to sign another striker to be thinking about getting rid of Ba, if Lukaku gets injured we are stuck with the invisibru one
  8. Time has already spoken Torres has scored 14 goals in over 80 matches spanning a period of 4 seasons with Chelsea. He has goals against Benfica; Arsenal; United; Barcelona - I can't remember any other top clubs in the continent that he has managed to score against, so a handful of important goals in 134 appearances. The amount of times our supposedly first choice striker was the one that brought us victory are probably not even into double digits. 134 appearances to score against the likes of QPR; Nordsjaelland; Wolves; Leeds; Monterrey; Reading; Leicester City; Genk etc
  9. It's obvious why he picked him, Hull is a Championship level club and Torres does well with most of his goals coming against such clubs which are relegation bound. As is tradition expect the striker who can't score to save his life to watch from the bench while we play our biggest games and enjoy his 175k p/w salary while playing in the Piss Cup and Championship level clubs.
  10. We expected Torres to be on the bench for the next few years, since he is obviously not good enough to be starter for a club of our caliber and no other club will buy him. No amount of huffing and puffing will change that - some consistent run of goal scoring form might change that but even against Hull it seems it's too much to ask from poor Torres
  11. It's making the presumption that Torres is the only striker in World Football who "works hard", I can tell you that once again it's Hull - a team which would likely be relegated with a Championship level defense. We already know Torres can do a decent job against such teams, but even against Hull he was basically never in position inside the box for a goal. I'd expect even Di Santo or Carroll to work hard and be about as effective as Torres against Hull, that's his level. I don't see any difference between Torres against Hull and the Torres who didn't manage a League goal in 6 months last season or in 24 hours of play the season before it. He doesn't know where to go inside the box; doesn't seem to want to make himself available inside the box; doesn't seem to know how to beat defenders inside the box; doesn't seem to know how not to take 3 touches and get crowded inside the box. His movement continues to be appalling inside the box, he continues to make himself difficult to find, he continues to fail to create opportunities to score. If he starts over 10 matches in the League for us this season and performs like he did against Hull it will cost us.
  12. A Special day for a Special Player, scoring a Special goal while playing in front of the Special One in hopefully a very Special match
  13. So close for Lampard, good save by McGregor
  14. Awesome impact by KdB - leads to Oscar's goal!
  15. Yep calling some one shit than expecting a parade or something. Sturridge is miles better than Floppes and has been miles better over the last 3 years; he is no more selfish than Suarez; RvP; Defoe; Lukaku etc, the reason you might think he is selfish is the amount of time he ends up in goal scoring positions. The reason he ends up in goal scoring positions are his technique; speed; first touch; movement; instinct; dribbling. There is virtually no positive thing which Fernando does better than Sturridge so if Sturridge is shit - Torres is an 5 tons of crap suffocating your brain Zoro. He had just 60 minutes of pre-season before starting against Stoke, yet managed to get into goal scoring position won the points with his goal which was quite good and also hit the bar.
  16. Model squad player on 175k p/w also the comments about ruining the flow just proves you had forgotten AVB's season; where Mata Sturridge and Ramires were the only players in the first half of the season who had good contribution to our attack while Drogba; Torres; Malouda; Kalou were all under performing and Lampard I believe was injured for a while and took time to find form.
  17. He misses chances because he is a superior player to Torres who doesn't get into position or beat players in order for chances to fall for him. Sturridge has outscored Torres in the League 3 SEASONS in a roll, in a squad role or on the wing, to even mention Torres who is the invisible man or the odd man out in our squad and compare him to Sturridge or Lukaku is an insult to both youngsters.
  18. http://youtu.be/HZOYtVAnrhM Took a very special goal between the legs of Huth for him to score a goal against Begovic. Begovic had a stormer easily MOTM for Stoke, Stoke's only actual football player
  19. You don't understand, I'm telling there was pressure to get the best out of Torres hence he was played - you can't seriously tell me managers rated him higher as a striker.
  20. That's exactly our point, managers see Torres as a striker but he can't score and stick the only striker we had who could consistently score goals for us last season as not good enough to start as striker for us. That's some serious logic, watch Torres play he doesn't even play as a striker manages 2 shots per match at most and is awful inside the box yet managers saw him as a striker? No they saw him as the most expensive Roman signing a top payed player and their job was to try and make him score and 4 different managers failed to do that.
  21. He should have been our main striker, the reason he didn't want to extend his contract is 3 wasted years with only 4 starts as a striker while Floppes has over 100 matches at the club. Idiots are people who don't think Sturridge is good enough to be our main striker but are happy to watch Mr.Fernando up top loosing the ball and failing to score.
  22. We can't "sell" Torres, we can give him away - Sturridge is miles better than Torres and definitely a better footballer than Ba. As I mentioned in his thread when he was sold I expected him to outscore the combined tally of Ba and Torres - he did that, this season I expect him to score over 20 premier league goals as long as he remains fit.
  23. First goal of the season scored by Daniel Sturridge but of course Floppes is better
  24. Sturridge didn't get a few chances; he got one match as a forward in the 2011/2012 season together with Lukaku against Blackbrun - despite that outscored our strikers in the EPL; had the most match changing goals in the EPL for us and was our top scorer with Lampard despite not playing much in the second half of the season. He averages a goal every 130 minutes since turning professional, just watch his performances for Liverpool against Us & Manchester City last season at the scousers and tell me when Torres has produced anything even remotely close to that up top for us. To say that Floppes is better than Ba or Sturridge is an absolute joke.
