That goal from Jackson was world class. World class movement and dribbling and the shot was slightly off beat and threw the keeper off. Honestly the best goal he’s scored for us. Amazing.

I don’t think people realise the managerial issue of continuity and sometimes even if a player might be better you can’t just pop him into a team that’s performing well. By every metric Villa have been crushing it lately by getting into CL and now having a pretty decent follow up season all things considered. Take into account Watkins having a historically great striker season for their club. Like all time level great, even if he dips in form, you let a player like that work out of it given your recent successes. I don’t think Duran not starting is any reflection of him, but more so of keeping the team success at Villa going.

We just became best friends. You know Vesper is a chick with the way she keeps tabs/notes.

Pity? Crying? Cool. I was one backing players on here and saying give it time. You’re the brash one coming off as a know it all. Saying Cucu sucks and sell him at the first chance after how he’s performed this season and at the Euros? Great take. Me calling out fickle fans isn’t me crying. It’s you crying. And me calling you out on it.
-
Nah man. I respect him way more than all the current players because he’s a winner. Ya know?
-
Our starting line up is literally the same bar one winger - maybe midfield that now slightly rotates. Let it go.
-
How those straws you clutching?

There were like 3 supporters of Duran. All of us are on this last page. Just about everyone else was saying oh great, another young project striker.
-
You don’t disrupt a winning team and any mistakes you guys seem to get on about aren’t costing points. In fact, Sanchez has probably saved us more games than the other way around but it’s quickly forgotten. I don’t think he’s the long term solution but people are full on here.

Aged like milk. I mean it was out of date by the second half of the game you wrote this about.
-
I’m so sick of hearing on here how he isn’t quite good enough yet and better players would bury any miss he has. The utter nonsense needs to stop. He’s a top forward. Also he does so much off the ball which makes him even more valuable.
-
Agreed. Sell him.

Who exactly did we buy this transfer window? Most complained about lack of incoming. I'd say they agreed with me, as they stuck with the core of players - which you said weren't and probably won't be good enough to get top 4. lol... Never called Timo a nothing player. Hilarious you are comparing Mount to Hazard. Absolutely hilarious - even from an impact perspective. You're like most fans these days, only care about an outcome and not what actually went into it. Ridiculous take, and one in line with American sports thinking of "well he won more so he is better". I'm not shitting on winners. You just associate good/bad with an outcome that has many factors that go into it. Sports is about consistency. In your stupid example, give both players the same surroundings, and the team with Hazard 9/10 performs better than the one with Mount. We watch sports for the crazy things that can happen. The owners are trying to build the team with the highest propensity to consistently win. Much like how just about most football players cited City as the best team despite not having won a CL.
-
You're also the same person who said our current squad isn't good enough last season - and here we are in 2nd place. Funnily enough you also called out the majority of our now best performers in Caceido, Cucu and Jackson... Both Mount and Werner are examples of - just because you put a cat in the oven, doesn't make it a biscuit. Otherwise, just because they won, doesn't make them winners. The sun can shine on a dogs ass one day and things line up. Most of us are over the moon for that CL win, but are also realistic that it was opportunistic and completely out of nowhere for the most part. In fact, despite our ageing squad I think most would tell you our 2nd CL win was far more unexpected. Your logic is just dead in the water. Take basketball for instance. Am I supposed to believe Chris Bosh is a better player than Charles Barkley, or respect him more because he won and Charles didn't? That logic is even worse when you bring it over to soccer, which has 11 players, and is more likely to be determined by one off events/moments in a game.
-
Just not good enough too. Highly overrated.
-
He is ass though. I think our scouting team has shown they know what they are doing. For all this talk about "scattergun approach" from all the TV pundits, it certainly didn't seem like it to me. We keep buying players of the same type of quality and attributes. Rashford in my eyes doesn't fit that at all.
-
I don't see the "worldie" talent everyone else does. I think we've been overrating a few of our younger players here - Hall being another - but I'll be honest and admit I catch wind late on the junior ranks, and haven't really seen the development others may have.
-
The best ones are the ones that told me Jhon Duran is terrible. Oh and how Alvarez is so much better and how much we need him.
-
I think people are overblowing the mistakes and how close Sanchez is to being replaced. I’m not his biggest fan either but the reality is you don’t or won’t change the staple position on the field if you keep winning games. I’m definitely nervous with how long he likes to hang on to the ball, but he’s a great shot stopper and days like yesterday where some shots go in happen to the best keepers.
-
Brain dead takes to be honest. Like you said he has been so good for a while now. Even after his mistakes he went back to having a 9/10 performance. We genuinely have barely anything come down that wing - and he’s usually paired with the less defensively active winger - which is even more impressive
-
One bad game where is appears to be more his kit than anything and our fans come flocking in here. Absolutely pathetic. Our players deserve better fans not the other way around - especially ones that have been consistent 8's all the year through.
-
Badi needs to stay. He has shown great improvement. Everyone here talked how Caicedo and Cucu were shit and now they're our best players a lot of the time. Disasi can go. Tosin can go. If Santos comes back from loan, KDH can go. I still feel given our injury history there, KDH is a solid option to have. I wrote Badi off too, but I've been super impressed lately.
-
Badi has looked really good the last two games. Much like how many wrote off Cucu and Caicedo, maybe we should give him time. Unlike the other two I mentioned, I'll admit I wrote of Badi. I've been super impressed with his last two games and think he'll come good.
-
I'm hoping Badi gets the start over Tosin. I've been impressed with his last two performances. Super composed on the ball and looks solid defensively. Like a lot of our players - I think some were quick to judge and he is actually beginning to turn things around. Could be wrong, but this is the time to prove himself.
-
I like the balance he brings to the team. Whenever he has the ball, you never think he will lose it, and he somehow plays the game at a pace that puts defences at unease. I really like what he is doing on his wing, but like someone mentioned, 60 minutes is enough generally.
