I don't think closing down is down to individual, it's more of a team concept. I think you saw how Juve pressed us as a team from the beginning to stop us from playing. Generally we have always been a team who sit back and accept pressure, AVB tried to change us last year but for some reason our players look very uncomfortable doing that.

I personally think we are not that bad. Our problem since last year is our inability to freaking keep the ball for long extended of time, we have no player that can boss the game. We need a player in pirlo/scholes mold. Please don't tell me that we have lampard, Lampard is an excellent player but he is a box to box mid.

I think they are both for now and the future. They are already fantastic players but they need possession to play their games, against Juve where we were outplayed practically everywhere, they are not the same player

Agree, I have no problem with RDM decision on dropping Torres, and we going out of group stages. In two games we played against juve and shaktar, I thought they were the better team. I think this is a good wake up call, we keep calling ourselves champions of europe but we have to realize the way we won it last year. We need to be patient with our team and manager. Having said that, I don't think RDM will be our manager next year if we don't at least have a chance to win EPL in the end of the season. The board gave him a 2 year contract and that shows that this season is his trial season for long term contract

I agree that we need a goal scorer but we also need to create more chances for our striker. Look at bayern, manzukic and pizzaro are scoring goals for fun. It does not matter who they put up front, all of them are scoring goals.

Not many all around striker out there, having said that there were two players that were available last summer ibra and rvp. We decided not to pursue either of them.

Excellent post. I think I had similar discussion with somebody in this forum a couple months ago. Somebody posted number that showed that we were actually average in term of chance creation in EPL but we have been very clinical in term of converting our chances.

I understand everybody frustration but I don't see anything that chelsea can do other than trusting torress. He is an underperformed striker who is making crazy salary. He is virtually unmovable. I also don't think rdm trust sturidge, once rdm took over from avb, he barely played any game for us.

I think it's a little bit of both. If we play with drogba upfront we definitely will cross more. And our trio am have tendency to play through the center and prefer to combine with each other rather than crossing the ball into box.

We are not a crossing team and we are not going to be one. We played with 3 am and our width comes from our fullback.

I did not blame the referee for iva red card, because in real time it looked like Iva clipped young, after looking at the replay it was clear that it was very minimal and young just does his thing.
