I think its a job well done considering how crazy the market is. Kante has to be the signing of the window by a mile! January is only 4 months away, personally I would still like to add an additional striker, perhaps by Jan Morata will be sick of the Madrid bench! Hopefully Christensen has a great season and develops more which will solve our CB issues for next season.

Which loanees have a future at the club?

I think that is unfair, Moses is a perfect example of someone coming through the loan system to push their way into the squad. In addition, this year, Moses, Chalobah, Aina, and RLC have all come through the Academy or the Loan system. Technically, Courtois and Terry could fall into the same category which means 6 of the 24 first team squad players, or 25%, have either gone through the loan system or come through the Academy. Personally I feel that the following players have the ability to do the same, whether they do or not remains to be seen: Christensen, Musonda, Traore (Most excited about these three), Ake, Brown, Baker, Abraham. The rest are either too young to tell yet, or I don't see getting to the level required to be a CFC first team squad member -
Here is hoping that Benatia to Juve is to replace Bonucci, please lord, this would be the signing of the summer!
-
What do them being black have to do with anything?
-
Bonucci, Kante, and Morata in will do me just fine.
-
I kinda get the feeling that Chelsea FC will turn this transfer window on its head with one big signing. At the moment it feels like the calm before the storm.
-
So whom would you replace Ivanovic, Cahill, Oscar and Willian with? Im not disagreeing with you, if we can strengthen the side then sure, I just really can't see who could come in and do a better job than any of those players you have mentioned. We all have different opinions about players, but i really Ivanovic and Cahill were part of the best defence last year, Willian was brilliant in the second half of the season, and Oscar was brilliant in the first half of the season.
-
Im not saying there isnt room for improvement in the squad, but honestly who is there that will come in and walk into the starting 11? Maybe Reus? The others (Pogba, Koke, Bale, varane, etc.) are just not realistic transfer targets. Even Isco I would argue is not better than Oscar when Oscar is playing well. And then there is the young players, Loftus-Cheek, Bertrand Traore, surely they deserve a chance to be squad players? Im not having a dig at you, I think its great that you want Chelsea to improve. I just cant see how? Who would you bring in to improve the squad? Im really interested to know what your thoughts are.

We already by far have the best squad in England and one of the best in Europe. The only difference between Chelsea and Barcelona is Messi. We have probably the best defence in the world, best keeper in the world, Matic, Fabregas, Costa and Eden Hazard. There are very very few players who could come in and strengthen the side we have. So to say that I have no ambition because I don't see the need to spend mindlessly on good, but not great players, and rather we just bring in a few guys to add depth, tells me that you are just like the countless other fans out there with an addiction to big name signings. This is Chelsea FC not Real Madrid.
-
Anyway, i'm still very happy with the squad we have, would just like to see a back up GK, a midfielder to replace Mikel and maybe another defender. Hope Felipe Luis stays...very good player imo bring in Begovic and Schneiderlin for me and we are looking very good. Isco or Reus would be wonderful, but can't see either happening and this really would be a luxury buy.
-
I agree, Turan is a quality player and im sure Chelsea would have been interested if he was available for the right price.
-
Every attacking midfielder/forward is so expensive, I'd rather we just give Bertrand Traore a go in the position. Got as much potential as Sterling in my opinion. Reus or Isco would be great, but let's be realistic, they going to be very very expensive.
-
I agree, even though the start of the season is less than a month away. My point is not that it is early in the transfer window, it is that there really aren't many players out there who would add value to the squad we currently have. And those players will cost a fortune. So it is a difficult situation.
-
I think people are just generally frustrated at the lack of any real action from Chelsea in the transfer window so far. Fact is that we do have a very good squad, yes we could do with a few more players to add some depth, but there just really isnt much out there this season worth looking at, especially at the prices being mentioned. With the exception of Pogba and maybe Griezmann, who else is there? And those two are just insanely expensive. I really just can't picture Chelsea spending 30mil plus for a squad player to add depth.
-
For me... Out: Cech, Mikel, Ramires, Oscar, Drogba (retire), plus various loanies. In: Begovic, Varane, Pogba, Bale, Bamford (back from loan) Prob cost 200 million +, but I can dream can't I?
-
I'm thrilled and all that we got all our transfer dealings done so early and everyone can settled etc, but man this has got to be the most boring August from a Chelsea perspective so far in the entire Abramovich era. I wonder if Roman feels the same and develops an itchy finger? I'm not opposed to Torres, Mikel and Ramires out...Cavani, Pogba, Varane in. Just saying
-
They will all probably stay, my bet is on excluding Schwarzer from final list of HG players so he wont be eligible to play.
-
Now you pushing it
-
Would it be asking too much if we requested Cavani as well?
-
Would rather we sign Tiago for a free, if Mikel goes. Khedira would be an expensive substitute.
-
I think Omeruo will go on loan again, Ake is still a very raw talent, cant see him being relied on much, and Zouma is a bit of an unknown quantity, i would actually be surprised if he wasn't sent on loan too. As much as I like young talent and academy players, I prefer title winning squads. So I wouldn't at all be surprised to see us go after Varane. Would leave us with Ivanovic (Chelsea's best defender IMO), Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Varane, Luis, and perhaps Zouma and Ake. All our young players are very good, and we would all love to see them play more often, but the reality is, that you really do need to be world class to be a part of this Chelsea squad, and with the exception of Courtois, I haven't really seen that level from any of the others.
-
But he is still following their official account so that really means nothing.
-
Personally I think is cutting it very fine and playing a dangerous game. Two of them get injured and we will only have 4 defenders to pick from. I get what you saying about how versatile some of the defenders are, but still leaves us very short and brings back memories of when Jose only had 3 centre backs for one season (Terry, Carvalho and Boulahrouz) that turned out to be a nightmare, so rather safe than sorry. Also with Luiz gone we forget that he was playing back up the whole of last season and his versatility needs to be replaced.
