I forgot about how hard the CL is going to be with not just a better PSG, and Dortmund, but we got a better City, an incoming Malaga, and don't forget Juventus! Every year it gets tougher and tougher, and thus it is hard to dominate the CL like old teams in the past, that won 2 or 3 CL in a role.

Watching Netherlands vs Germany, I can see what you mean with Bastian. Bastian is a good DM, but also creative, difference then Khedira. Out of all those names you mention, it looks to me like Javi Martines is the closes that can fulfill this role.

I wonder if Marin was a RDM signing? Marin said he spoke with RDM, he liked his style of playing with wingers, and Gourlay said RDM had some inputs in our target. I don't see it with Hazard cause that's been our target way before RDM and AVB, but Marin came out of the blue, and me thinks it was a RDM suggestion!

Even A. Cole who probably is one of the best left back in the entire generation praised Sturridge for his skills. That it was hard to play against him. Guy is very young, has great future. Just need the right push, and I think RDM would help him. But if Torres keeps sucking ass, and Sturridge gets no chances so we can play the 50 mill striker he will leave next summer!

This is the thing people need to distinguish!!!! We don't got that sort of creativity till Lampard start doing that role. We where all hoping Josh can fit in, but he ain't nowhere near the map. Can't get into Swansea, can't get into our team. Can't rely on him this season. It will take a couple of seasons to get in like Ryan. Now that we got Hazard to interchange with Mata in the wings and the hole, we need that deep-lying playmaker. Notice we got Meirles as plan C after Modric, because Meireles was thought to fit that role...a bit. But now that we are trying to improve our squad, that should be our next target. If we can't get Modric, then a player like Cabaye as you mention will be great. But for playing the intricate, 4-2-3-1 formation we need a deep-lying playmaker to play next to the CDM.
