I had a fear that this might happen, actually I thought about it after we signed Courtois, that maybe it was to prepare for Čech's departure. I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon though.

I think players like Luiz are invaluable to our dressing room spirit... a clown, a spirited and skilled player who gets along with everybody. I was a bit worried of our dressing room after Mourinho's departure and after many failures, player departures and puppet managers.. but when we have a manager like AVB and players like Luiz, Mata, Čech, Lukaku, Terry, Lampard, Drogba... I'm not too worried. I hope we don't see a bland team spirit anytime soon, like the one in Man City for example.

Trust has to be earned. Nobody trusted Grant in such a short period of time, in fact nobody ever trusted him... or Scolari. Although it's looking good with AVB thus far, my trust in him is increasing every week.

Chill. It's a long season, both will play in big and not so big games. Romeu has taken the opportunities given to him and I'm just glad we have 2 excellent DMF-s with different qualities, giving the manager more tactical options. The greater trust in Mikel by the staff is understandable - he's been here for long enough and he's far more experienced, knows the team better and doesn't have language barrier. AVB had been after Romeu for a long time so we know it's his signing, therefore he will man manage him as he thinks is the best. I'm sure continuing playing well for the first team in easier games won't hurt his chances under AVB.

I agree with FB, it's not like he was gonna say "oh they did the right thing". Wouldn't be surprised if he has cheating history also.

Having more Matas wouldn't hurt

Agreed, ahsoon. It would be forgiveable if he actually had other qualities to compensate, but he isn't fast anymore, he isn't a technical dribbling miracle, his crossing is average at best and his shooting is often off the mark or just poor. Our central defender, Luiz, is more interesting to watch when he's on the wing than our winger, Malouda. He can be good, but he's too inconsistent and thinks far too much on his personal goal tally. But nevertheless, he's still our own self-proclaimed assist-machine GIGGS :541:

if playing regularly is his condition then fuck him, the transfer fee ain't worth it... luckily the manager doesn't have to take orders from him, so he can easily continue being a benchie after a new contract. and he still considers himself young... lol, he plays like a 35yo.

5-0 wow didn't really expect that until we scored our second goal so quickly, their defence looked like molten butter. Pleased for Torres, could have easily been 4 goals for him, the one that hit the post and the one scored by Kalou after Torres's effort. Malouda disappointed by not giving the ball to Anelka in the situation where he took a shot, a selfish fucker... but otherwise played okay, still not a fan of his though. Romeu looked solid, a bright player but had a few errors here and there. Meireles finally shined in the more advanced role, a really good player tbh, good passing and shooting. Lampard, although had an assist, didn't really impress me. Genk were who they were, you can only beat the opposition thrown against you and we did the job eloquently.

A dope performance so far... I hope Torres gets his hattrick

We need cover in case of a forced sub, like an injury... but nevertheless, we might see Sturridge as ST if Torres was to be subbed. Kalou and Mata are probably our wing subs and Sturridge is there to be backup for ST I think.

same, don't understand why he had to play against fucking wolves reserves when he could've played today.... AVB probably sees some flaws in him that we don't, or he wants to deal with him carefully.

Kalou can step on the field for ~5 minutes if we're 7-0 up, otherwise I don't trust him... might give away 6 penalties and score an own goal to lose us 2 points.
