  1. When we discuss the possibility of a website, we need a lot of people to work as a web team. We'd need, ideally, half a dozen dedicated writers as well as myself, Jim and David to post up the articles. If we could get that, I'd be all for it.
  2. Precisely. But let's not forget; we're Chelsea, we can forget about appealing.
  3. I know that John Terry always parks in the same space at Cobham every morning, Anelka says a quiet prayer before every match and Bosingwa floods his boots with hot water before a match, but what other superstitions do you know about the Chelsea squad?
  4. Having more options in terms of young English players certainly can't hurt the club; and it will offer competition for the other youngsters as well to earn spots in the squad.
  5. Reports on TalkSport's radio station Zhirkov's signing will be confirmed tomorrow, and I've heard similar reports on various sites that Turnbull and Sturridge are to agree terms with the club very soon as well.
  6. Send it to me; I'm the most active of the Admins at least
  7. It can't hurt to appeal, I suppose. It doesn't matter; we'll negotiate the group stage, then the rest of the remainding teams can face the wrath of a pissed-off Didier Drogba.
  8. No way on earth is Mancienne as good as Alex or Ivanovic.
  9. I'd like to see a Brit win it for once, but you really can't look past Federer IMO.
  10. Milner's playing at Villa at the moment. I've always liked him, but I don't think his form is consistent enough to move to a club like Chelsea. Still a good player though.
  11. In all fairness, I think that's all we will need. Drogba, Anelka, Kalou and Sturridge will be sufficient as our strikers.
  12. An arcade sounds like a good idea, but a chat seems far more realistic to impliment and, in my view, is a really good idea. And AR, we did have a website which myself, Jim and David ran as a test but we never really carried on with it. We could always resurrect it, if Jim agrees.
  13. At the end of the day, player power isn't something we want at the club, BUT if the players are unhappy with manager and his methods, they have the right to complain.
  14. Agreed, he was one of the better players for England this evening. I think he is a very athletic centre back with a good reading of the game, but we saw him bombing forward so often in tonight's game - I think he'd be lethal as a right-back.
  15. Any changes you would like to see implimented? Any ideas or suggestions for the site? Post here.
  16. Chelsea have hit out at the 'unnecessarily harsh' punishments handed out by Uefa to Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa. European football's governing body imposed sanctions on the Blues duo and fined the club in the wake of their controversial UEFA Champions League semi-final defeat at the hands of Barcelona. Uefa revealed last Monday that the Stamford Bridge club were appealing against the sanctions and Chelsea have now confirmed their intention to fight the punishments. Striker Drogba was handed a six-game European ban following his ugly confrontation with referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after the final whistle at Stamford Bridge, with the final two matches deferred for two years. Team-mate Bosingwa was issued a four-game ban, with the final match deferred, after comments about Ovrebo in a post-match interview, which he later retracted. Chelsea were fined €100,000 (£85,000) for improper conduct of their players and the throwing of missiles by their supporters. The Blues were infuriated by the referee's performance in the second leg of their semi-final showdown with eventual winners Barca, as they saw four fervent penalty appeals rejected. The Spanish giants booked their place in the Rome final on away goals courtesy of a last-gasp strike from Andres Iniesta and went on to lift the trophy with a 2-0 success over Manchester United. A statement on Chelsea's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has today lodged an appeal against the Uefa bans given to Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa, and the fine imposed against the club. "We believe these punishments are unnecessarily harsh given the circumstances. "We would reiterate that the players and the club are acutely aware of our responsibilities towards setting a good example as role models and upholding the values of the game. "That is why honest and sincere apologies were made swiftly after these regrettable incidents occurred." Source - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_5406434,00.html
  17. Great player. Had a fantastic season. Made Carvalho seem almost unmissed in fairness.

    Hey!

    Welcome back Linda
  19. Murray's entering the fifth set with Wawrinka after leading two sets to one. Wawrinka has been brilliant so far, Murray's being pushed.
  20. I don't see how people can complain about Madrid and City spending mega amounts of cash when we were doing the same season after season. Using the excuse of "but we didn't spend so much" is invalid as well - we dominated the transfer market for years. We now have to stand up and realise Madrid and City now have the money and we will only get the leftovers. Its time like this where we should scout for new talent and stop trying to offer millions for some other club's hottest prospect.
  21. To be fair, he scored three screamers for us and put in five good performances. Give him some credit
  22. From what I have seen of Mancienne for England-U21 and the Blues reserves; he isn't strong enough to be a centre-back in my opinion; he'd get bullied by a physical striker in the Tevez mold.
