  1. But when it boils down to it, I'd rather see Anelka through one-on-one with van der Sar than Kakuta.
  2. Welcome back Oscar, great to see you here again. Have fun in Germany, its a beautiful country.
  3. I removed it, because its a pain in the bum. If you want to edit posts in the Prediction League, for instance, you wouldn't be able to. It also means there will be more double posts than there already are.
  4. He seems to be in everyone's line-up for next season, ahead of a certain Nicolas Anelka
  5. There's only one Didier Drogba. I'm not saying that purely on sentiment. But you look at his qualities; strength, finesse, stamina, desire, composure et al. And then on top of it all, he genuinely loves the club and the fans, the coach and his team-mates. Find me another player like him, I say.
  6. He's good at hitting people with golf clubs as well.
  7. One of the Wycombe players came on as a sub and scored a four-minute hat-trick The naivity of football fans is hilarious, on Eurosport they're properly ripping into the club when they obviously haven't looked at the team-sheet
  8. No, just commentary. I'm not sure its televised. Currently 1-1.
  9. Wycombe: Nikki Bull; Chris Westwood, Dave Winfield, Alan Bennett, Danny Foster; Gareth Ainsworth, Lewis Montrose, Keiran Murtagh, Kevin Betsy; Scott Rendell, Ben Strevens. Subs: Steve Arnold, Leon Johnson, Ian Westlake, Marvin McCoy, Matt Bloomfield, Matt Phillips, Jon-Paul Pittman. Chelsea XI: Walker; Billy Clifford, Rohan Ince, Aziz Deen-Conteh, Ryan Bertrand; Scott Sinclair, Jack Cork, Conor Clifford, Milan Lalkovic; Franco Di Santo, Aliu Djalo. Subs: Gokhan Tore, Jamal Blackman, Daniel Philliskirk, Ben Sampayo, Philipp Prosenik.
  10. Delighted for him, he had a top season with the Reserves, Youth and First Teams last year and his potential is huge.
  11. I imagine the boys will be heading to Germany very soon so I can't see any of the stars playing in this one... maybe we'll get a look at academy/reserve players not making the trip.
  12. Yes we have great youth prospects in that position but let's be realistic; Hilario and Turnbull are hardly reliable and we're not going to play either of the kids. Like you say, if Cech's out injured for that Champions League semi final you're alluding to, are we going to stick in Delac? Nope.
  13. I remember it being announced a few months back, and only thought to look into it earlier tonight, and found out that the game is tomorrow. Its not an official friendly from Chelsea's point of view but we may well see some of the youngsters in action.
  14. Chelsea have denied reports that England Under-21 international defender Michael Mancienne has handed in a transfer request. It looked as though the talented young centre-back was ready to call time on his career at Stamford Bridge after five years with the club. Mancienne has started just two Premier League games for the Blues in his time in West London and has spent significant spells on loan with QPR and Wolves in the past four seasons. Molineux boss Mick McCarthy has refused to rule out a move for the 22-year-old earlier in the day amid reports that he was on the market. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6283808,00.html
  15. Wycombe Wanderers vs Chelsea XI 29 July 2010, 1945 KO - Friendly, Adam's Park MATCH CHAT HERE You can watch the game here.
  16. Looks fake, but I like it. I can't see us going for a colour so close to Cech's goalkeeper top though.
  17. Don't really see much point in keeping him to be honest, he's nowhere near as good as Bruma.
  18. I think our medical team is second-to-none to be honest. Welcome to the club, Gio!
  19. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has no imminent plans to sign Michael Mancienne after he submitted a transfer request. The Chelsea utility man, who has undertaken two previous loan spells with Wolves, has decided to call time on his Blues career four years after turning professional. McCarthy insists Mancienne's decision to seek first-team football away from Stamford Bridge has nothing to do with Wolves as he is not looking to strengthen. The ex-Sunderland boss is not ruling out bidding for Mancienne at some point, however, he admits he would need to trim the club's wage bill first. "I guess people should ask their (Chelsea's) manager Carlo Ancelotti whether we should read anything into the transfer request," said McCarthy. "If I was reading anything into it, I suggest he wants a transfer! But that's the first I've heard about it. I'm not looking at signings at all at the moment. "We need to lose some players rather than take any more in and certainly won't do any more business unless anyone leaves." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6283382,00.html
  20. Well if we sign him, fantastic. I'm not his biggest fan, but he is only 23 and people are right when they say he will add something else to the team. My only concern is that I don't think we need a new midfielder as much as we need another forward or goalkeeper.
  21. Chelsea, City, United, Liverpool (if they keep Torres).
  22. Spot on, few people really appreciated the importance of Makelele until he left.
  23. I disagree. It counts nothing towards the league season but it is a massive confidence boost and potentially a psychological victory over our biggest challenger in many ways.
  24. If only we have Pizarro for every time we played Birmingham, always played a blinder against them
