  1. Haha, cheers mate! Speaking on OL, they signed Gourcuff last night! What a terrific coup!
  2. Come back to Chelsea please José, in about five or six years
  3. Didier loves his pet bitch Salomon
  4. I love it personally. It really stands out from the rest of a post whilst sticking with the rest of the theme. Will need some time for people to get used to it but I personally quite like it.
  5. This should sum it up for you: Defensive cover Left-backs - Cole, Zhirkov, van Aanholt, Ferreira, Bosingwa (Malouda if necessary) Right-backs - Ivanovic, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Mancienne, Bruma (Essien if necessary) Centre-backs - Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, Bruma, Mancienne (Essien if necessary) What's to worry about? []First-choice defensive line-up: Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Cole If Bosingwa is out, bring in Ivanovic of Ferreira If Alex is out, bring in Ivanovic If Terry is out, bring in Ivanovic If Cole is out, bring in Zhirkov If, say, Alex, Cole AND Bosingwa are out, play Ferreira at right-back and Ivanovic in the middle with Yuri on the left: Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Zhirkov The chances of all four being injured are nominal, but even so if you put Bruma alongside Ivanovic that is a defence that would be first choice at a club such as Sunderland!
  6. Better have a big team or two for that price!
  7. Premier League champions Chelsea are amongst the big names to enter the Carling Cup third round draw, which takes place at 1215 BST on Saturday 28 August. Competition-related chat here :cfc:
  8. But think about it; would you prefer to be sitting on the bench for Portsmouth or Stoke, or sitting on Chelsea's bench earning about £40,000 a week?
  9. I thought you'd never ask, you guys know what I'm like when it comes to grammar! Your log-in name remains the same, Sam.
  10. I know he isn't an academy product, but my point is if the club are going to spend millions on bringing in a foreign youngster then go on and sell him after two or three substitute appearances, then the lads coming through the academy set up have no chance!
  11. You pain in the ass Haha only joking, sorted it for you mate
  12. If we sell Matic we might as well shut down the Cobham Academy now, because those boys don't have a chance. Ridiculous.
  13. Might as well, instead of having five or six different topics on it
  14. Done, your log in name remains the same - but I've had to call your TIWAA. because there is already someone with that name.
  15. As far as I'm concerned, it's simple: Win three Champions League titles in ten years Win the Premier League ten more times Do that and we're a superpower
  16. Manchester City will win the league in the next two or three years, there's no doubt about that as far as I'm concerned. However I still think it is too early for them at this stage, but I wholeheartedly expect them to finish in the top three, with Arsenal fourth. But even so, I can't see them being any more than 6 to 10 points off of first this season, the League is incredibly tight and competitive now! People say Man City are ruining football, but you have to remember we were doing exactly the same! We broke the 'Big Two' monopoly of United and Arsenal, and now City have done likewise and built their way into the elite of this league. They've made this league much more exciting, and it would appear their spending has brought the best out of Spurs as well!

  18. Yes mate, your log in name remains the same.
  19. I can't remember mate. Actually it seems quite likely it's Terry, as captain he'd be able to get away it
  20. Probably be 2-0... Stoke will probably play two banks of four with Kitson and Fuller, and Fuller will more than likely drop into the midfield as well to make it more of a 4-5-1 and very hard to break down.
  21. The great thing about Ancelotti is he instils a maturity about the players; I don't think he would ever condone complacency. Carlo is a professional and that rubs off on his players.
  22. Yossi Benayoun could not contain his delight at scoring his first Chelsea goal in the Blues' stunning 6-0 demolition of Wigan Athletic on Saturday. The Israeli captain scored the sixth as Chelsea registered a second successive 6-0 drubbing after also having beaten new boys West Bromwich Albion by a similar margin at Stamford Bridge on the opening day. It was his first competitive goal for his new club, though he was indebted to the quick-thinking of flying full-back Paulo Ferreira. 'I remember everyone running to the near post,' the ex-Liverpool man recalls. 'But Paulo made a clever pass so for me it was very easy to score. It's great for me, it's a good feelings always to score the first goal.' Despite his evident joy, Benayoun maintained that a good team performance and a victory was the priority on Saturday evening. '6-0 was a convincing win away from home and this has lifted the confidence of the team. The players played well, especially in the second half when most of us had more confidence.' Someone who did not entertain the same thoughts was Latics manager Roberto Martinez, though despite his team's second half capitulation, was full of praise for the table-topping champions. 'They are a very talented side, and know how to act when they are not playing at their best. The top five teams all know how to play when in the lead. The scoreline does not reflect what happened out there.' Martinez' comments were true - Chelsea were second-best for large periods of the first half, with Florent Malouda's goal coming largely against the run of play. This was echoed in the post-match thoughts of Didier Drogba, who claimed the Blues were fortunate to lead at half-time. 'We scored six but we suffered a lot in the first half, so I think the game was difficult and the fact that we scored quickly in the second half made it easier for us. Blues' boss Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with the team's performance and magnitude of victory but was quick to dismiss any chance of complacency creeping in. 'Today we battled well, but it is impossible to think we are always to score six goals in a game, this is not real football, this is Playstation.' Ancelotti praised his strikers but it was the defence who he first congratulated: 'I think at that time we defended very well, we didn't give Wigan the opportunity to score and we waited for the right time to score. In the first half we had a lot of difficulty on the pitch and were not able to play our football because there was no space.' 'We have started this season very well and scored lots of goals. But we must maintain our concentration and keep playing good football and prepare for the next teams,' the Italian added. 'Today we played well but we must stay focused.' Salomon Kalou summed up the performance perhaps better than any of his colleagues. Having scored two goals after coming off the bench, the Ivorian stated that 'the champions have to scare the other teams. I hope that after these two games the teams we play will be afraid of Chelsea.' A penny for Tony Pulis' thoughts, anyone?
