  1. My honest answer: I'm not sure. When you say "take us forward", can you quantify that? As in, take us forward a couple more years, or take us forward for a decade? In the first instance, yes, but in the second, then no. He's only ever been a short- to mid-term manager and I doubt that will ever change/ He has always had the issues of negative football and a lack of youth integration, but you can look past that when you're winning titles. We're not even winning games, at the moment, so he's getting hit by both barrels. It's hard to see positives, but if we sack him now, who is there better to bring in?
  2. What's Mourinho got to do with individual performances? He isn't out there kicking the football. You can say it's his job to motivate the players but if you're on £200,000 a week and can't motivate yourself then there's something terribly wrong with your life.
  3. Probably good we went out to Stoke, imagine losing at home to Sheffield Wednesday
  4. No, not happy, considering we're 16th. But happy the board are, for the first time in my living memory, backing a Chelsea manager despite results being poor.
  5. So you want me to give you a list of the times I've seen him? Be realistic, how am I supposed to do that? Can you name me the exact fixtures you've watched certain players?
  6. TBF it doesn't matter who we play. Apart from Willian and Dave, they'll continue to let us down whilst Mourinho gets the flack for it.
  7. You're now saying I don't watch Nantes games because I haven't typed the words "I have watched Nantes live". I have never said on this forum that I like jelly. In fact, I fucking love jelly. However, going by your reasoning, because I've only had jelly once or twice this year, I'm not allowed to have an opinion on it. Frankly, I couldn't give a shit whether: a; you agree with my assessment, b; you accept that I watch French football quite frequently, c; you think I'm entitled to an opinion. The fact is I know how much French football I have watched. I know how many times I've seen Nantes games (usually against the big boys, especially since I have had Setanta, ESPN, Eurosports and BT Sports, which enables me to watch plenty of French football, which I prefer to German or Italian or Spanish football). You do not know how many times I have seen the player play, which I would hazard is comfortably more times than you have. Whether you like it or not, I have watched sufficient volumes of French football to have an opinion on the matter. I do not need to have watched a thousand matches to have an opinion on anything. But please, continue to dig a bloody big hole by arguing the toss. There is no logical reasoning in your post and I think you understand that, hence the overly aggressive stance. I really can't wait for you to comment on some obscure footballer in the Transfer Talk forum because I'll do exactly the same to you, and then you're realise how utterly moronic you are being. EDIT: Anyway, if you want to continue this, PM me, rather than doing so here.
  8. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Can't help but feel sorry for the bloke. He isn't the one making mistakes out there on the pitch and it's not like he has limitless options to replace players with. He's been let down by the board in the summer; let's hope we can make one or two appropriate acquisitions in January and focus on the FA Cup and getting into the top four.
  9. As I said in my previous post, there seems to be no reasoning with you. There is absolutely no logical thinking behind your post. How can you say I "clearly" haven't seen enough of him? What is your proof? There is no rational thinking behind your post. I have seen enough of him to know he won't make the grade. He was a last-minute panic signing as he was cheap and readily available. If he was anything better than average he'd be playing ahead of John Terry, who has been nothing short of a disaster this season. Again, "unless you focused on him" - so now you're saying unless you focus on a player you can't make an informed judgement on a player's performance? Does that mean we should watch Chelsea matches fourteen times before posting player ratings following a match?
  10. All the more disappointed now Arsenal and United are out. We'd be playing Sheffield Wednesday at home had fate been a little less cruel.
  11. Let me disappoint you all: it'll be a 4-2-3-1 and Cesc and Matic will be back.
  12. This is going nowhere. And you're undermining whatever point you're trying to make... Your argument is basically this: that I (apparently) haven't seen enough of him to make an informed opinion, as I haven't watched him in "every game". However, because apparently I didn't watch him regularly enough to have an informed opinion; therefore, if I can't have an opinion on him, then neither can you. Then again, clearly you are able to tell me all of the Ligue I, Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France games I've watched Papy play in over the last couple of years.
  13. Considering the point you're trying but failing to make is based around how much French football you presume I watch, we'll just leave this here. If Papy was anything more than average he'd be playing for us and our beyond shit defence, but I presume as he has a high 70s rating on FIFA you must figure he's William Gallas born again.
  14. What a ridiculous statement. If that's the case then no-one is able to have an opinion on any footballer unless they watch them every week Have a word with yourself.
  15. Three, in truth: a; there's no guarantee we'll qualify in the UCL, and b; we're going out in the first knockout round if we do.
  16. He's average. Nantes seem to be doing okay with him, put it that way. He never particularly impressed me when he was in France.
  17. I think I've been Alex since you joined the site... from 2005 to 2007 (on the old TalkChelsea/CFC-Fans) and then 2007-2011(?) on here I was the enigmatic BlueLion Who you calling sad? I have 31,000 posts since 2007... you have 27,000 in a lot less time, bitch COCKTAILS ALL ROUND (Tom that looks like you )
  18. Quality. I've been out at work for a while but started a new job yesterday so understand entirely. Good man, but just a word of caution: say €20 next time :D
  19. Hazard has been abysmal and there's no two ways about it. When you're in the mire, you expect your big players - the supposed "player of the year" - to bail you out. We've had periods like this before. Never looked like achieving anything in a game, or defeat seemed inevitable. Your Frank Lampards, your Didier Drogbas - they'd pull you out of the mire with something amazing, just 90 seconds of brilliance to get a draw or sneak a win. Hazard hasn't shown 90 seconds of brilliance all season. The fact he single-handedly dragged us from January to May makes it all the worse. I can't accept that you're asking me to "be objective" when you say that Hazard was "one of the better players in most of the matches". Have you got last season's season review on loop, or something? He's been anonymous at best.
  20. HAHAHA I'm sorry, that's fucking brilliant.
  21. ^ if Mourinho has lost the dressing room, it is for this reason, one would assume.
  22. Don't take the piss. My record on FM is a thousand times better than Pep's paltry trophy haul.
  23. I like to feel special No I had to make a "special" group so I could promote posts to articles for the site And I had to change the name colour because I'm not clever like Jim and able to make big shiny buttons
