I agree there Nemanja, innocent until proven guilty, of course. However my point are his alleged actions are bad for the image of the club - we're hated enough as it is. I am not thinking of what other fans here, but what other players think. Would you want to come and play for a team captained by an adulterous racist?

Absolutely. But he's undoing all of that with these antics. Whether it was a simple mistake, a moment of naivety or him saying what he was really thinking, he should be reprimanded. It doesn't mean we have to hang him out to dry, but I certainly won't show the same respect and admiration towards him in future. I'll back him as I back our squad and the management, but he has gone down in my estimations greatly.

Mikel is more composed than any of our other central midfielders, and only Josh and Mata are calmer and more relaxed than Mikel is when in possession of the ball. That's what makes him so quietly effective; it is an attribute that is underrated in many players. Each great team has the workhorse that does the simple things so well - that can be Glen Whelan at Stoke or it can be Sergio 'Diving Cunt' Busquets at Barcelona. Makelele wasn't appreciated until he left, and people only began to appreciate him because of who he was; a European Cup-winning superstar.

This could be one of those games that ends up either 0-0 or 4-4; either a conservative approach (which is in my opinion the best course of action to take) or an all-out attacking policy will be adopted, in which case Liverpool - who are excellent on the counter-attack with Downing and Suarez being pacey and skilful - will be able to exploit the gaps in our midfield. We will need a resolute defensive performance, and will need to maintain positional discipline, especially the full-backs and the CDM, who I think should be Mikel.

You can't just call somebody's opinion "wrong," you can accept it, agree with it, acknowledge it or argue against it. You can't really label Bosingwa as being poor, because our entire defence has been lacklustre this season. Bosingwa has never been the most solid of full-backs but he has been no worse than Cole or Terry this season, even Branislav 'Mr Consistent' Ivanovic has been well off his best. The only defender who has played anywhere near his best for us this season is DL4.

I'll back Terry until he's proven guilty, but people are taking this with a pinch of salt because he is a Chelsea player, whereas we all want Suarez banned for his comments. I'm not condemning Terry - not yet, anyway. But I won't be comfortable with him being our team captain, regardless of everything he has done for us. I will always support him but I will never again admire and respect him how I previously have done. If Terry is proven to be in the wrong he should be stripped of the Chelsea captaincy and it be given to a true professional.

That's a fair comment, but the reason for us banning Blauw and Beast is thus; they are explicitly homophobic, whereas Nemanja's racist remark was massively out of character. The pair of them were consistently berating homosexuals whilst Nemanja's was a single, isolated incident which he apologised for - in comparison to the other two, who expressed that they didn't care if they were banned because they felt so strongly about the subject. For me, that constitutes an automatic ban, and I hope this will be seen as a deterrent in future. I don't enjoy having to ban people from the forum but I will do what is necessary to have a positive environment and atmosphere. Sh0n3x's racist remark was a single incident that is massively out of the norm for him, whereas in the past people have been automatically banned for their comments, ie. Kakuta44 banned for anti-Semitism. I hope this clears things up.

Excellent post. I remember that, under Scolari, he worked brilliantly with Joe Cole, but that is because Joe has a wonderful work ethic whereas Sturridge is a typical, lazy centre-forward. Bosingwa is much-maligned as a right-back, but he is not as bad as people make out. Rather he has been targeted because of the high line that we play, and the space he leaves when he goes forward is often exploited. I feel he has been scapegoated for our defensive woes, but all of our defenders have been shaky this season.
