  1. Carroll Suarez-Borini Would be a very good front three for Liverpool. Good interchangability between Suarez and Borini, even though Fabio prefers playing through the middle. There would be good dynamism to the Liverpool front line, but do they have the midfield to supply the ammunition? I'm not sure. Gerrard is too inconsistent now, even though he is still a very good player. Lucas is an intelligent player but he is no Xabi Alonso. Charlie Adam is a useful utility player, a bit like Meireles, but he's definitely no playmaker. Spearing is utterly useless, can't see what Dalglish saw in him. Liverpool need midfield players more than anything. Joe Cole would be a good option but he's injury prone and hardly set the world alight since 2008, in fairness. Decent season at Lille, granted, but again, he is nowhere near Mata or Hazard's level. Borini going to Liverpool could work but only if they get the supply right.
  2. If we can get The Azp for the same amount as we could for Maicon, I'd say go all out for him
  3. I can see that smile becoming an iconic image for the club in a few years.
  4. I supported the signing at the time, but with Hazard, Mata and Oscar all younger and more versatile, I would say he is surplus to requirements and a player who is only taking up a non-British slot in our squad.
  5. This place is doing my fucking head in. And then people asked why I can't be arsed coming on? Look no further than the cesspit this topic has become. Fucking embarrassing.
  6. I agree with Terminator X. It would be ludicrous to allow him to play.
  7. Totally, unequivocally, irrevocably disagree. The man is a completely different beast now to how he was when he first joined. Under Ancelotti, he was worse than useless. We only ever dismissed this reality because we were so desperate for him to achieve with us. He had no drive or belief or motivation, and he sulked over it. Whenever he tried, he was ignored by the selfish cunts in the team. Bear in mind that a player like Torres must feed off of midfield playmakers - which we have in very small quantities. Our players are used to lumping the ball to a target man, so it was a case of letting them learn how to play with Fernando as much as it was for him to learn how our team functions. Last season, especially under RDM, he was one of our brightest attacking players. His goals were not frequent, but became important, and he won us many games not necessarily with his goals but with his assists and key passes - the best example being the 2-1 win at Wolves where he played an eye-of-the-needle ball through to Cole who squared for Lampard to win it. The drive and pace soon returned and you only have to look at his contribution in the Champions League games against Barca and Bayern to see examples of his team-play and work-rate. In the Nou Camp he won us the tie with his goal, and helped out immensely defensively. Furthermore he won our one and only corner in Munich, and we all know what happened next. He has come on in leaps and bounds in terms of his performance. Now he must improve statistically and hit the net more often.
  8. ^ I think very few people discredit Mikel. Those that do are clearly unappreciative of the role he plays. Torres gets plaudits because he has the play out of his skin to score in the old Chelsea set-up. But now we have more creative players in and around him, he'll do what he's meant to do more frequently, and then the haters will go quiet again.
  9. We haven't missed it. Either: a; we can't be arsed to change it b; we refuse to change it on grounds of it being part of your personal identity, as well as that of the forum c; we can't be arsed to change it. My money is on either a, b or c.
  10. Well since I have CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE 12 on the back of my home kit, getting TORRES 9 on there too might look a bit cramped
  11. Made my mind up on holiday I'd get the third kit with TORRES 9 and MATA 10 on the away. Now I want Hazard.
  12. ^My 4000th was a 2000-word-long match report. Just saying. Anyway, from this thread: Adidas > Nike
  13. You changing your name would be almost as bad as me changing mine, or Terminator X changing his. It is iconic.
  14. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/euro2012/4394803/How-Roy-Hodgsons-England-players-fared-at-Euro-2012.html Hmm, I don't think so.
  15. I hope the rumours of him leaving are all bullshit. He's a very useful utility player, and his versatility is massively underrated.
  16. I'll pay for the cab fare to Gatwick if necessary.
  17. Great, a newly-promoted team in the first home match. Can we have some originality, please?
  18. I doubt he'd hit Noemie, she's bigger than him haha!
  19. It looks absolutely stunning. Imagine walking into that as an opposition player, it would be as imposing as the Bernabeu.
