I like the idea, but there's something about the match topics. I love flicking back through old match topics, like Munich and Amsterdam, and reading through all the comments... from despair to absolute elation. That's something we wouldn't be able to maintain with the chat room. So whilst the idea itself is good, at $40 I honestly don't think it is worth the investment, and I'd rather us invest that money in upgrading the current server even further. But that's just my opinion!

Am I concerned about the result or performance against one of the top four sides in the world, in a pre-season friendly? Not one bit. "Blessing in disguise" potentially. It shows we cannot compete with Real Madrid, or teams of that ilk. We still need to spend, and hopefully this speeds up Rooney's arrival, and makes José think twice - maybe we do need someone like de Rossi or Khedira to add some steel to the midfield. José will have learnt more about his players today than he will have in wins over two piss-poor Italian sides right at the start of their pre-season, and a couple of woeful "all-star" teams. This was a great experience for a young team, but defeat will also serve as an important reminder that we are not infallible, and whilst we still have momentum heading into the new season, results mean nothing in pre-season. All that matters right now is being in a good enough position to beat Hull and Aston Villa, and put in a performance against Bayern in our first three matches. Anyone seriously concerned after this pre-season friendly against one of the top four sides in the world, please gladly line up so I can take you out with a single stroke of Mjolnir.

Absolutely perfect! I'm uploading it to the main website right now. -
It's not the fact you're putting a controversial point across. That opinion I respect. It's the way you said you're going to such extreme lengths. Will you really "cry tears of sorrow" or "dive off a mountain" if we sign Rooney? Pass whatever you're smoking

Absolutely spot-on. After a very impressive season at West Bromwich Albion, where he wasn't even first choice at the beginning of the season, I think it would take a very harsh bastard to say Lukaku isn't ready for his chance at Chelsea. He is certainly worth a go. But when your only other striking options are: Demba Ba - I really like Demba. He is quite slow, but very dangerous with the ball at his feet. He is a predatory striker, but one thing he has in his locker is the ability to use his power to knock defenders out of the way. He won't score many goals, but his positioning and ability to attract attention of the defenders opens up the space for the pacey players like Hazard and Moses to exploit. Fernando Torres - I love Torres, even though he is well past-it. But that doesn't mean I'm unrealistic over his contribution. He isn't as good as people make him out to be when he does something well, but neither is he the useless crock of shit the majority believe he is. You don't score 23 goals in a season by being a bad player. Torres is a completely different option to Lukaku and Ba as he uses his pace to play on the shoulder. Last season at times we saw players finally clicking on how to service Fernando - David Luiz especially realised the long ball into the channel works well for him. There is still something to offer from Fernando, IMOVictor Moses and Andre Schurrle - they won't really be given a go, but if we're struck by injuries you may see one of these players lead the line, but in a slightly withdrawn false-number-9 role. Again, totally different options. These are good options, but nothing better than good. None of these players are of the quality of Dzeko, Suarez, Aguero, Robin van Persie, Roberto Soldado and several other high-profile forwards playing for our direct rivals. Rooney, however, is. He offers something totally different - which is important here, as it knocks no-one's nose out of joint. So, I repeat - all of our strikers are okay and offer something different and individual - but an in-form and fit Rooney offers something so different and versatile that it is a step up on our current options. As for Lukaku, no-one is doubting his ability to score goals - but will our current forwards score enough goals to win us the title? Probably not. Rooney+Lukaku+either Ba or Torres will.

Those of you calling Rooney a cunt/cheat etc., I'll remind you of how much you seem to hate him after he scores a winning goal against Arsenal/Spurs/West Ham/the Manchester clubs next season. This lad is going to be fucking immense for us.

Don't be silly, players who butt-fucked Cole over last season included Franco di Santo!

Cheers Jase! Absolutely, it's the same way they're trying to sabotage our preparations by insisting we're going to have to play and cater to Torres' strengths.
