  1. Not really. Even if we lose, and stay fifth, we are only 5 points off the top of the league. If we beat Liverpool at the Bridge - and they lose to City - it can be a City-Arsenal-Chelsea 1/2/3; a situation I think we'll see from here until the end of the season. These are the three title contenders, IMO. But then again, if Liverpool surprise us and Suarez continues to score, it could make it a four-way bout for the title. Best league in the world, no doubt about it.
  2. Easily one of the top five attacking players in world football right now (alongside Ronaldo, Ribery, Robben and Zlatan - can't really include Messi as he's injured).
  3. Don't understand why this needs another topic. Merged with the Drogba topic.
  4. It was crap from everyone bar Schwarzer and Willian, why single out Lamps?
  5. Well he got the original touch and his effort was goalbound, so regardless of any later touch, it's his goal - it's a tiny consolation but it's one we have to grab with both hands atm!
  6. The Football League have confirmed that Chelsea's goal in the 2-1 loss at Sunderland on Tuesday night has been credited to Frank Lampard. The Blues midfielder converted from close range just 39 seconds into the second half to give José Mourinho's men the lead at the Stadium of Light, only for the team to succumb to a late Sunderland fight-back as they were dumped out of the competition. Sky Sports originally gave the goal to Lampard but the BBC and other sources accredited Black Cats midfielder Lee Cattermole as the unfortunate scorer of an own goal. However, on review, the goal has retrospectively been awarded to Chelsea's number 8 after referee Anthony Taylor's official match report named Lampard as the Blues' goalscorer. With Lampard being named as the goalscorer, Cesar Azpilicueta will now be formally awarded an assist. The news serves as a microcosmic positive after Tuesday's capitulation on Wearside, and means Lampard - Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer - is now seven goals clear (209) of second-placed Bobby Tambling (202), who held the record until May this year.
  7. As you've never had any past, a simple apology will do, Jype. You're a good member and I don't recall you ever insulting anyone before! But I have to say this is an informal warning nonetheless, please be a little nicer! I've said it for many years - attack the reasoning in someone's argument, but never the person themselves!
  8. LOL, "no offense but you're a fucking idiot", that's like saying "no offence but your mother's face looks like a sack of chisels". Very rude! Play nicely please, children.
  9. It's his life, he can do what he wants. Whether he takes drugs or shags grannies or goes out boozing is none of my concern. I only care about how players perform on the pitch, off-field gentlemanly conduct of heroism (á la the God that is Sir Didier Drogba) is a nice optional extra.
  10. Nothing new, no, but at least he can run (which makes him a better option than Essien) and he can also shoot (which makes him infinitely superior to Sideways-Pass-Obi-Mikel).
  11. Might be an idea to play with Cech and Schwarzer just to be on the safe side.
  12. I did, I thought Eto'o would be better than nothing at all. Seems I was wrong
  13. I'd genuinely take Kalou over all three of our "strikers".
  14. I'm sorry, I realise putting Kalou in there was far too obscene, I apologise. In all seriousness, apologies if that statement caused offence.
  15. Utterly dire performance from him tonight. Well done on completing 792 sideways/backwards passes, though.
  16. Eto'o clear man of the match, the berk won it for Sunderland. Evidence of match fixing tonight - you'd hope a performance THAT BAD could only be down to the lads wanting to throw the game, right? RIGHT?
  17. An utterly gutless, diabolical, shambolic performance. I can't even put into words how fucking infuriated I am with such a dire performance. Essien, Eto'o and Mikel in particular are an absolute embarrassment. So, so disappointed. I'm not going to write a match report because I think if either of those three players read it, they'd fucking cry. Arsenal will destroy us on Monday. I'm not being defeatist, I'm being realistic. We're awful, it doesn't matter what team we put out at the minute, we're utterly dire. We cannot defend. Furthermore, our attack is non-existent. We rely on moments of genius from either Willian, Hazard, Schurrle, Mata or Oscar, and when they play poorly, we haven't a hope in hell. I'm really struggling to see where we go from here, because there isn't anyone in this squad who is anything close to "in form", right now. People who say the League Cup doesn't matter are trying to console themselves. We've just blown the best our only chance of silverware this season, as far as I'm concerned. I feel let down, because we had that game in the bag, and we let the worst side in the Premier League turn us over in the last 35-40 minutes. Absolutely abysmal.
  18. A fair point regarding age - Lampard is fit for his age, but let us not forget that Ryan Giggs, arguably, is the single greatest athlete ever to play in the Premier League. He's 40 years old and has the stamina most 25 year olds can only dream of. Giggs is a freak of nature in that sense. Lampard is still fit but after his lengthy lay-off in 2011, he's never looked the same physically. We have to look after him, which is my point.
  19. Frank is capable of playing very, very well (look at West Ham, for instance). His problem is he is playing too often because of a lack of CM options - he should be being employed like Giggs at United, not playing 90% of our matches.
  20. He has to be better than one-knee-Essien and sideways-pass-Mikel, right?
  21. Schwarzer Azpi - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mikel - Lampard Hazard - Oscar - Schurrle Eto'o We have six days to rest for the Arsenal game, so we might as well play a damned strong team. This is a QF and represents our best chance of silverware this season, so a strong team, as above, is what we'll see.
  22. Haha, I don't think it's trolling at all! I think it's trash talk! Being a Chelsea forum we don't get many opportunities to get involved in trash talk, which I find to be really enjoyable!
