Are we going to finish in the top 4? - Achieved!

we say things like this but when we have these things and things are still not going the way we thought or expected it becomes the managers fault or the markee signings fault... football is a team game everyone is responsible.. who's fault is it when supporters all calling for us to play a weakened side the manager obliges and we lose then blame him for playing the weak side.. it will never stop we need to get a grip.. and start putting the responsibility back on the players because they are the ones on the pitch who have to execute... which is what Spuds are doing currently cause AVB has been making some questionable calls in his line ups but the players are still finding ways to pull out the wins and thats why they are ahead of us.. DESIRE ONLY! -

when looking at the team they have assembled their team was PL ready from first kick not a whole lot of adaptation required for their players.. right now they are a more PL ready side and are firing on all cylinders I still believe we have a better team -

i never bought into the getting rid of AVB to begin with yes it brought us champions league glory but at what price... cause he still seems to be one of the best young coaches around and he has a team filled with guys who do not believe they are bigger than the club.... not saying that is whats going on at chelsea but if we look at the top managers we have brought in BAR Rafa.. reports of unrest in the locker room always popped up that can't always just be the managers fault can it? -
was poor today but i guess we could chalk that up to fatigue he looked like he had no gas in his tank to get past players and his legs looked really heavy... he needs to rest up cause we are really going to need him this weekend vs united
-
if this match shows us anything its that we are in dire need of a player like moutinho/modric/cabaye/benat because we can not dictate the tempo of a game with mikel and lamps.. as well the passing from mid to attack is soo utterly sloppy I can not believe this is the same team that started out the PL undeafeated in 8 matches... For me our mistake was letting meireles go as everyone claimed he was sloppy in his passing but his technique and distribution forward were far more underrated than anything... now we have to rely on what we have to hope we can secure top 4 and play in CL next season.. 10 games left in the PL and lots of work to do

rested ashley in a game " we didn't really need him" and bertrand is the cuplrit of ball watching and silly foul... i know hes only 23 but at that age ashley cole was a much better option.. anyone else thinking ryan may not make it here a chelsea's number 1 left back.. may seem like a knee jerk but look at his opposite in azpi who is of same age and currently miles ahead in development to ryan... great lad but if ryan is going to be the guy for us in the future starting next season he has to be number 1 or hes pretty much done at chelsea cause only playing cups is not enough gametime to keep match sharp.. and that was evident today

Did not want to start a new topic but I do have a question to pose to the forum... Is the lack of consistency and winning mentality the true reason behind the teams spiral for the last two seasons? To me us as supporters seem very eager to blame the man in charge where as on most occasions they are picking the players we wanna see on the pitch but the players are not showing up.. -
few things bertrand will not make it here we do not create enough chaces whether its ba or torres thats not the strikers fault whomever it is and 3 when did our passing get so sloppy.. everyone says ramires can't pass but it seems like everyone...

but it ok for your beloved club to make banners about john terry and wives when the facts of the situation was that the lady was separated(divorced) from her husband at the time... if your club was as big as you claim they wouldn't need to make such banners you are to leave that kind of stuff to the supporters that is unprofessional

for everyone who says hes only good at harrying the ball to whom many prefer moutinho has a better tackle per match averaged( 2.7) modric(1.1) but less far less ball interceptions moutinho(0.4)- (1.3)and more fouls moutinho(1.7) than modric(0.6).. i know everyone in the board hates stats but sometimes they do help.. on a side note luka has played 18 games for madrid this season so far for a player like him who needs week in and week out football that is disrespectful and considering what they paid for him a flop... hes not 21 years old being bled into the first team he is a starter for his country and needs more game time which we can supply.. would love him here at a discount of course
-
taking this as Modric's first season some may call it a flop and if we are saying yes it is a flop real would not get the 33m asking price they paid 25m-30m is reasonable to take with someone they say is a flop.. a player like Modric who you said is on another level in terms of what he brings to the table wants to play week in and week out as well as win trophies which is possible at Madrid the trophies part but currently is not playing majority of the games he requires at least 60games a year something we can offer him in our pivot.. again this is all taking into account his current standing in the side.. not factoring in the departure of Alonso or the need to rest Ozil solely on Modric and his current status within Madrid
-
Kaka will leave because hes a footballer and wants to play football thats why the deal to milan was set to happen but madrid wanted to cash in on him cause they realize hes surplus...cause with the looming 'FFP" ( hate bringing it up) no team can really afford to have players on wages like that to be sitting on the bench especially if you want to comply and what im saying is if we can get modric that would be great.. who is to say that if mourinho leaves madrid the next boss doesn't love luka and play him constantly.. we are going on the assumption that mou is still in charge and luka is nothing more than a really good/expensive fringe player
-
im not disagreeing with you i completely agree but again some of the great teams do have one or two "luxury" players in order to be successful.. oscar imo was a great buy because we really were only looking at his attacking prowess but he does work really hard defensively too.. which i think luka does as well pretty efficiently
-
i put that in my post though... that only teams like madrid us city and psg can afford to do that.. kaka was eclipsed by the purchases of ozil and ronaldo ozil is a faster player than kaka and has shown to have just as high a footie IQ... and well what else can you say about ronaldo other than he makes stuff happen
-
beat me to my exact point lol
-
hes not the right fit for that team and you so not spend 33m on a player to sit on the bench..unless you are city madrid chelsea and psg... where as here he as some have put it would walk right into the pivot and would be a pretty damn good replacement for the lengend super frank
-
in a sense yes but look at some of the great teams to win champions league milan in particular with players like kaka and pirlo who do not defend but are/were pure class going forward... you can get away with one or two players who are focused on attack first but they too still have a part to play in team defending
-
most teams that play double pivot have one true ball winner and one distributor.. now the distributor does add additional benefits if he too can win back possession but that is not his main function.. in respect to luka he is pretty decent ball winner maybe not of the same mold as a moutinho or alonso but would be more than efficient as he has a great engine and can do a lot of pressing... ppl seem to think that defending is a few players in the team but actually its a unit everyone has a part to play to be a successful defending side we need more two way players like in the mourinho era... and on de bruyne maybe you misunderstood me i was placing him in the attacking 3 not in the pivot..i too agree with you his defending does need a lot of work if he will work in our pivot if we so choose to play that style.. i still believe we play our best football in a 4-3-3 a la newcastle game beginning of the season...
-
i dunno to me even though united were a man down he was working really hard to win the ball back and being a real nuisance(sp?)... i thought he did very well.. could def see him in out pivot and working really well with the likes of mata oscar hazard and de bruyne who seems to be the forgotten man
-
ramires and moses staying at cobham to be rested for the game sunday vs united.... speaking of that game howard webb is officiating we can expect a few dubious decisions after what happened to united yesterday
-
since then has gone on a bit of a streak goals and assists 6 goals 3 assists.. been keeping an eye on him in ligue 1.. his pace is unbelievable i think 13M is a good peace of business at least according to http://miusoccer.com/chelseas-chase-for-13-million-looks-on-as-he-considers-future-at-end-of-season/8939
-
thanks ..much appreciated
-
anyone have a spoiler of the goal i missed it as was working..
-
PVR'd the game going to go home and just delete it...
-
couple of points i have from todays game... -the penalty miss energized city and they turned their intensity up and were more clinical -the sub Torres for Mikel was poor decision as we lost the back 4 shield but still understandable as we we were pushing to get the equalizer - Not a supporter of Torres but he gets a lot of flack for not making an attempt on net demba ba only had 1 shot on net and no one has said anything about that
