Mikel is such a boring player, nothing exciting in his play. If he'd be solid in what he does it wouldn't be that big a deal, but he's sloppy on top of that. How some keep defending him after all this time is ridiculous. Not good enough for a topside
I've watched every single minute. I'm not gonna get drawn into another discussion though, clearly we have different standards so it'd be pointless anyway.
Ofcourse pre-season matters, it's the basis for a manager to form his squad for the season. Every player is equally motivated to do well in those games because that's the period places are up for grabs. Well for most clubs anyway.
Let's see, he's in London at his beloved club, second in the league, at the verge of winning the group in the CL, has a vast arrange of talent at his disposal, is probably living a happy family life earning the odd 10 million pounds a year.
I really didn't want to give the impression I don't rate Schurrle tbh, I was merely trying to make a point about Jose's comments. I'd pick him over KDB or Willian on the wings most of the times, on merit of his impeccable work-rate and enthousiasm.
I'm not putting words in your mouth and I most definately get the point :/ I quoted a sentence out of Jose's press conference, stating De Bruyne isn't playing because the rest is playing so well. Which is a laughable statement because most of our AM's have been average at best. We could continue discussing Hazard and Schurrle but that would only derail the thread and be pointless anyway =)
That's your opinion, he's been criminally underrated in some of his less prolific games this season. For me Schurrle is an extremely useful squadplayer with some immense qualities but he just isn't in the same league as Hazard or Mata or even Willian for that matter. Ignoring his goals he was average vs Stoke. That doesn't mean he isn't an important player for us.
Hazard and Oscar have been quality, the rest has been average at best with some spikes in performances. They definately haven't played well enough to keep KDB on the bench for half a season.
Why would Lukaku leave? Pretty sure he'd settle for being second striker, I mean he's 20. Lukaku is long-term. Ideally we get a world-class striker who can tutor him.
That's the whole issue, loaning out our best striker. We don't want to recall him because he is a young promising player, we want him here because he's our best option.
Nearly all his goals conceded were not his fault though, he's probably the best performing goalie in the league at the minute. Go have a look at RAWK, they think they've got the new Schmeichel
