Unless Kevin does not want to play fr Chelsea, I very much doubt we will sell him. He's done brilliantly well at Bremen and is the perfect squad player.

- Bad ball retention skill. - Insisting on dribble when surrounded by opposition players and ending up in losing the ball on about at least 5-6 occasions. - Sloppy passing. - Too aggressive in defending. Always look to nick the ball instead of staying disciplined and not committing to a tackle. - Weak positional sense. Should I go on? Luiz has amazing technical abilities; he's an amazing footballer. But why in the world should that mean he should play in midfield?! Offensively, we've gained enormously from his outstanding abilities when he's played at CB. From his long balls, from his ability to pass, from his long shots, from when he moves forward and adds numbers to the midfield. But he's been able to do all that because he's playing at CB. Why move him to midfield where he'll be under pressure and won't be able to execute any of that? Luiz is not a midfielder, he's a defender, and an excellent one as well. I just can't understand why someone would want to play him out of position.
-
Why? David has been pretty bad whenever played in midfield; often out of position and always tries to dribble needlessly and ends up losing the ball. Luiz is also our best defender atm, we need him in the back.

What a hit! The power is just unbelievable. Love the celebration with Zola as well. You're not helping the kid with all these unrealistic hopes.

Goal of the season/ Video submission thread
CHOULO19 replied to CHOULO19's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
People seem to forget those because we lost the match. There is also Hazard's vs Villa and Luiz's FK in that same match. Oscar vs Steaua deserves a mention and there's also Torres vs Reading which for me is the top 3 simply because it was an amazing team goal (even though it should've been offside). Mata's second vs Tottenham as well for that amazing Hazard assist. -
Oh, no, please no more handshake shit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10022174/John-Obi-Mikel-and-Ramires-plan-to-shake-the-hand-of-the-referee-Mark-Clattenburg-on-Sunday.html I was one of the few people who were saying that handshakes should stay, but I'd take that back if it means papers would stop writing those ridiculous articles

Why do you hate Leverkusen so much?!

We've had some real crackers this season at Chelsea, in fact, we've been spoiled with amazing goals. So what do you think have been the best ones? This thread will also be used for the submission of the videos for the "Goals of the Season" video compilation competition. So have your say in what goals do you think the participants should have in their compilations!

I honestly laughed when I read this!

What does Mikel has to do with anything here? I swear you're obsessed with the guy. You're loosing it, mate! Luiz has guts, we all know that, and the ability to make that FK in the final second is amazing, but what does that have to do with him playing in midfield? Heart and character are great to have in the team, and Luiz has them, but I wouldn't play him in goal because he has heart and character because he's not a keeper, and I wouldn't play him in midfield because he's not a midfielder. He was terrible on the ball last night, just terrible. Took too many touches and tried to dribble needlessly. Even the pundits felt the need to bring it up and show clips of him doing that. You don't need to defend him just for the sake of defending him. Yes, if we keep playing him in midfield for a whole season he MIGHT get better. But why in the world would we do that? He's a great defender who's doing well in midfield, why change his position? Besides, we can't really afford to wait for him to become a good midfielder, we don't even give our own youngsters time to improve!

MOTM performance. Amazing work rate and ethic. Defended extremely well for 90 mins and was our best attacker in the first half and got a goal as well. Great to see him back on form.
-
Right....okay. Thank you for that great contribution, how could this forum ever survive without you! Anyways, onto the Luiz in midfield issue. Like I said in the match thread, Luiz had his moments, including the goal obviously, but I thought he was bad overall. Too many touches on the ball and too many needless attempted dribbles. Luckily Basel did not have the quality to punish us, but a better side definitely will. I was saying during the match that he was dribbling too much, and when the game ended, the pundits in the studio said the exact same thing and showed at least 5 incidents when he needlessly tried to dribble and ended up losing the ball, including the one he should have had a red card for. He is just not a midfielder, he's not used to having the ball at his feet while under pressure from several players. Luiz is an excellent defender who's been doing extremely well for us lately; Why try to change that to something that is clearly not working?!
-
Haven't had much joy against Swansea, have we? That said, at home with such a huge need for the points, I have full faith in the lads. I bet Hazard will up for this one!
-
Completely right there. They may have been a bit lucky in the final against Germany IIRC, but that tournament was the first time I realized how big a talent Nathan is (though he was playing at CB).
-
Completely forgot about this conversation. I guess better late than never, though Fair enough, can't argue with you there, but with the current lack of quality full backs, I think he's got to be up there with the best in the league.
-
You're a great defender, David, please stay in defense!

I deleted the other thread, mate, but please use the search option before starting a new thread in the future

Moses my MOTM. Worked his butt off all night and defended extremely well. Was our best attacker in the first half and got himself a goal on top of it all. JT and Lamps really rolled back the years tonight. Good performance by both. Luiz had his moments, including the goal obviously, but I thought he was bad overall. Too many touches on the ball and too many needless attempted dribbles. Luckily Basel did not have the quality to punish us, but a better side definitely will. I counted at least 5 times when he needlessly tried to dribble and ended up losing the ball, including the one he should have had a red card for. The thing is, Luiz is an excellent defender who's been doing extremely well for us lately; Why try to change that for something that is clearly not working?! Anyway, 1-2 is a great result away from home and we really deserved that goal at the end. Hopefully this makes things a bit less complicated at the bridge. EDIT: A few more thoughts: - This was one of the best I've seen us play away this season. Tactically we were very dominant (well done FSW) and the team set up ver very well with everyone standing his position well. Yes, we lost our way a bit before their goal, but we upped a gear after conceded and created two-three great chances to score and did. The game was ours to do anything we wanted to with. - Ashley had such a great game that the Swiss coach had to change tactics from emphasis on the right wing in the first half where they created nothing to emphasis in the left falnk in the second where they got better offensively. When we play Moses on the left with Cole and JT, that left side of the defense looks impenetrable! - I really liked the 4-4-1-1. We looked much more solid, with our lines closer to each other, and Mata enjoyed the extra freedom he got. Would definitely like to see it again.

Question regarding "Reported speech", please help. :)

Exactly. Another one I always got wrong is how to write the "ألف" in a word. I mean how could one letter depend not only the word it self but the whole sentence?! -

CHOULO19 replied to Melanicus's topic in General Chat
We didn't have to do them most of the times, but we used to get grammar problems in exams were we had to put the (we call it "tahreek" تحريك ) on all the letters. I never even attempted them, just skip! -
Exactly. We'll have to defend well and make the best of the counters because I fear we've already lost the midfield battle.

CHOULO19 replied to Melanicus's topic in General Chat
Well that's easy to write. Try putting all the proper 'movements' (I didn't know how else to translate that! ) on the letters! -
The reason I'm saying this is because, from what I saw from Basel in the EL, they press very very well in midfield and they do so not with one or two players but with four and more and Luiz is not used to have the ball in his feet while under such pressure. I can see him know trying to dribble out of trouble and getting dispossessed
-
HUGE mistake to play Luiz in midfield today. Basel press exceptionally well. And with Lampard starting, we've already lost the midfield battle.
