  1. Not true. The game against united had tons of quality. Not on the ball but still quality that is hard to find. Both teams were incredibly disciplined. You could at almost any time see the shape that the manager drew for the players being implemented on the pitch. It was like a FIFA match with every single making the right movement almost every time. It also had quality with the amount of work-rate and defensive runs that every player from both teams made. It was a tactical master class especially from Jose who manged to frustrate united and stop them from creating almost any chances. Today on the other hand, the tempo was just too slow. No one trying to do anything with the ball. There were spaces and frailties in both defense but neither team had the quality to exploit them.
  2. Frank deserves much better than this game for his 100th game. Shame.
  3. Well he is a manager and tactically our game against united was one of the best you'll see in a season. No idea what he was talking about today, though. The game was just uninspiring and lacking any sort of quality from both teams.
  4. With the current team, the quarters would be an achievement if I am honest. Well achievement is an exaggeration but it would be a good result. I honestly doubt you'd reach that if you play attacking football. I mean think about it, take Rooney (and perhaps Carick) out, who from England would get into the NT of Germany? Italy? Brazil? Spain? France? Netherlands? Argentina? Heck even Belgium? Those are 8 teams who have more quality. So getting into the quarter finals ahead of one of them is a good result, imo.
  5. The funny thing is, I think, if he can get you out of the group stage, Woy will probably do well with the team. You'll probably still play incredibly boring football, but that will probably get you to the quarter finals or even semis if you get some luck.
  6. He just made a mistake and gifted Italy the equalizer
  7. He won't have a guaranteed start anywhere he goes. Even at Athletico he had to fight for his spot with Asenjo. PS: Cech is having an incredible game for the NT against Italy atm. Czech leading 1-0 at HT.
  8. Hart. Speaking of which, hart and Walker are just hilarious to watch
  9. Looks like Switzrland will be the first to make it to the WC. EDIT: On closer inspection, they'll only be the first if Iceland and Albania draw. But they're as good as there.
  10. I read this morning that we offered a 10m/year contract to Valdez! Journalism can be so hilarious some times.. Not necessarily. He will come if he wants a chance to be first choice for us. He can come, and if he out-performs Cech he can get the starting spot. That's what happened with Petr. No one just gets a starting spot everyone has to fight for one. Every professional knows that.
  11. Not necessarily. Coutrois can have the FA and league cup matches which should be about matches plus he can fill in if Cech get injured or needs resting. Just like it would be crazy to let Courtois go, it would be equally insane to get rid of the best keeper in the world atm.
  12. With Arabic it's because the written language, or "Fosha", has not evolved in more than 1500 years, or at least not nearly as much as the spoken dialects. It was preserved because it is the language of the Quran. It has so many grammar rules, it's ridiculous.
  13. What you'll learn in school is completely different from the spoken language. It's almost a completely different language. The dialect also differs a lot from one country to another. I can't understand half of what people from the Gulf say and almost nothing from what people from Tunisia and Algeria say. We only have the written language in common.
  14. I disagree. At WBA he always had tons of space to exploit as they played on the counter. Clarke even used him as a "super sub" in all the big games because he's have more space in the second half but also because, despite his physical strength, his hold-up was well below average. That just won't cut it here at Chelsea. At Everton he will be playing with a team that keeps possession high up the field. So I think he'll learn and develop a lot. Martinez is also one of the best managers in the league tactically so he will help Romelu develop his hold-up play and movement which he will be required to do at Everton. I think this will be a crucial season for Romelu.
  15. Interesting point about Vitesse always giving our players the game time they promise. Hopefully that means that they intend on somehow fitting the four wingers we currently have on loan there into their plans.
  16. What if I'm driving in circles? Btw, I never asked you, but do you speak Arabic?
  17. I don't think it is aimed at any market in particular, it just means that one more match gets televised. If you move the Monday night match back to the weekend it will most likely coincide with some other match. So having games on Monday night get more overall viewers in the UK and Europe.
  18. I don't know much about Billy Davies though. You want a good manager who will look after him and give him confidence like Zola did. That's just as important as game time, imo.
  19. Is Oscar crying? EDIT: Never mind, DJames answered the question above.
