Dude, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You are simplifying and understating things so much it's like saying WW2 was a slight misunderstanding! It's not countries taking land from each other, because first of all Israel didn't exist before the 1940s; millions of Jews from all over the world to replace the Palestinians. And second it's not just taking land, it's trying to out wipe an entire people of the map just because they aren't Jewish. You're comparing changes in borders and taking of land from an uninhabited amazon to this: Millions of Palestinians were thrown out of their homes and country and to this day they still live in camps mostly in poverty waiting to return to their homes. Entire villages were wiped out, thousands of houses cleared of their Palestinian inhabitants to be replaced by Israelis. The Palestinians have NO CHOICE. Someone is trying to erase them completely off the face of the earth. They either resist or they and all their future generations cease to exist. That simple. Mere existence for the Palestinians is resistance of the Zionist plans. They don't need to have weapons to be killed by the Israelis. Look up all the methodical assassination of Palestinian poets and artists in the 70s and 80s because they were resisting with art. And it's much more than just about the land. The Palestinians live in hell each day. I'm not talking about during wars, I'm talking about their typical everyday life. Living controlled and oppressed by the Israelis while being harassed discriminated against. Read this and tell me what you would do in their places: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13128-politics-stuff/page-74#entry941551

Only Mikel and Moses added to the squad, right?

Yes, Hamas is the excuse. But they are just the current excuse. Hamas is very new to the struggle. Israel have committed similar atrocities when the Palestinians had only rocks not rockets as weapons. The resistance against Israel, even in Lebanon, was initially from the secular left parties, but still no one stepped in to stop Israel. While Hamas are bad, there have been numerous excuses before them, and there will be numerous excuses after them most likely.

I made a long-ass post but it got deleted by mistake I'm on my phone right now (and half asleep). I'll rewrite it later, sorry. Actually the illegal settlements are just the lesser side of the issue. The main issue is the living conditions of the Palestinians. I made a post explaining it a few days back: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13128-politics-stuff/?p=941551 There are something like 156 UN resolutions against Israel IIRC. Israel just laughs at them.

Sure, because there won't be anything called Israel anymore There was nothing called Israel before 1948. It was just Palestine. Of course they can't give the land back to the Palestinians, they brought in millions of Jews from around the world, and it's their home too now. They can't be thrown into the sea (although Zionism has tried to do just that with the Palestinians with some success I must say). The only solution I see is a single fully integrated state with everyone living as equals. The root of the problem is the horrible, horrible, conditions that the Palestinians live in and the daily racist harassment, and I'm only talking about the days of peace. As long the Palestinians are treated as inferior to the Israelis then there can be no peace.

Does it make me dork that I found this pretty funny?
-
Haha on second look, his expression does have a hint of "do that again and I'll kill you" look! It seems like only Luis knows how to make him smile.
-
The picture on chelseafc.com is even funnier. Cesc is jumping into his arms with a huge smile on his face and Diego's facial expressions are as if he was just reading the paper

Chelsea got a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Olympija as the fans got a first glimpse of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa in action in a Chelsea shirt. The two Spanish boys certainly didn't disappoint, despite a relatively slow start by a slow start by the Blues. The Slovenians made it clear early on that it won't be a stroll in the park for us. But the boys soon got into the game and dominated play, helped by Cesc's brilliant passing and vision and Salah's sheer pace. But it was Olypija's Nik Kapun who got the opening goal against the run of play after some very sloppy play by Izzy Brown. Delac who had made a couple of excellent saves earlier could only watch the powerful shot just fizz past him into the net in the 40th minute. Chelsea started the second half well on top and soon Cesc Fabregas managed to slip Diego Costa through on goal who fired in the equalizer; a scene Chelsea fans will be hopeful to see many times this coming season. Minutes later, Kurt Zouma was quickest to the rebound after a corner and managed to fire his team into the lead. After that neither team was able to convert any chances and the final score read: Olympija 1-2 Chelsea. A deserved victory for the Blues, especially if you consider the fact that both Zouma and Ivanovic had goals inexplicably ruled out by the ref. The game also saw the return of Cesar Azpilicueta, Garry Cahill and Fernando Torres who each got a good 45 minutes under their belts. And while Jose Mourinho was not very happy with some of the tackles the Slovenians were throwing around, the physicality of the match was certainly what you want from a preseason game to get the match fitness of everyone up. One player enjoy the physicality of the match was the match winner, Kurt Happy Zouma. He was the only player to play the full 90 minutes. Chelsea starting XI: Delac; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Garry Cahill, Luis; Cesc, Matic; Salah, Boga, Brown; Costa Subs: At HT: Cech, Ivanovic, John Terry, Ake, Van Ginkel, Torres At 70mins: Bamford, Solanke, Chalobah, Romeu The Blues next fly to the Netherlands to face Chelsea B team a.k.a Vitesse on Wednesday July 30th. My stream quality is so bad, I just mistook Izzy Brown for Boga!

The Chelsea TV interviews with the new signings are getting incredibly embarrassing. "How easy of a decision was it to come to Chelsea?" Really? Might as well go full scouse and ask would he agree that Chelsea are the biggest club in England...

Thank you Jon Snow: Btw, I found this brilliant British cartoon from 1948: @Fernando, I'm curios, why do you think that Hamas are bad (terrorist if you want, though I find the term completely meaningless)? I'll tell why I think they're bad, but I want to know your explanation first.

I thought it meant when's the quickest time you got into a car. I was expecting an answer like: "When she said "I want a committed relationship." I was out of that house, into the car and driving away in under 3 seconds!"

Calm down? Which part of that was aggressive or not calm? Yes, you kinda were implying that he is stealing a living, or at least that is how it came off: "He must really like his wages." That's a cheap shot and very disrespectful to a player who has served the club for 8 years, especially if you consider that his wages are relatively low (75k/wk) and that if he does move his wages are unlikely to decrease, certainly not significantly. He had a decent season and he can still be a valuable squad player, I have no idea what people are complaining about.
-
36 appearances for us last season. To compare, Lamps had 40. Absolutely laughable that you would suggest that he's stealing living. He had a decent season and was very solid whenever called upon. He won't be a starter because Jose wants someone more dynamic, like Matic, for the role, but he can still be a very good squad player and offer something different that no one else in our squad can offer and which can be vital in certain situations.
-
Same thing happened against Wycombe.
-
Very insightful. I haven't heard much about this except for the odd bit on the news. The situation sounds complicated. May I ask, how does the US feel about the operation. Obviously, they won't want Taliban to gain much power, but similarly I don't imagine they'd want them completely crushed because they could come in handy as was the case in Syria.

March? Then he'd count as U21 for this season as well.
-
We were debating this the other day. He spent 3 seasons with utd but less than 36 months. The rule is not clear (at least to me) on that, so I don't know. Very similar case to Lukaku (except Lukaku would still count as U21 this season).

You see, all those crimes, as terrible as they are, are being committed by terrorists groups that are being fought, or countries that are being punished for causing such atrocities (can't really compare the situation in Turkey to this, not that the international response to that was not shameful as well). But Israel is the only army in the world that is (at least publicly), not only supported, but also funded and armed to kill hundreds of civilians; and by the 'enforcers of democracy, equality and human values', I might add. And for the last time, just because people are dying elsewhere, it doesn't make it right for you to kill civilians like they were bugs in your house.
